For dinner tonight, I put some ingredients in a Crock Pot, simmered all day on low, and turned out a pot of delicious, vegan chili.
Well, it was vegan until I served my bowl up...I separately browned some ground beef with a little salt, onion powder, and garlic powder, for mine and put some of that in the bottom of my bowl. Then I added some of the chili, and some sharp Cheddar. So much for vegan! And the cheese blew away any chance of Kosher as well. LOL!
As my chili CON CARNE was quite delicious, I have no problem with that.

It's thrilling Thursday! I might be trotting out to Kroger myself today. Lunch will likely be leftover chili, possibly made into chili mac, just to add a little variety.

Everything is vegetarian, and many dishes can be made vegan, if they are not already vegan.
Disclaimer: We used GrubHub for delivery, so did not test the restaurant itself, only the food. They are not afraid to spice it up a bit, but I'm sure they could adjust the spice level, on request! Really good food, and plenty of it. We plan to eat at the restaurant in the near future.
We had the appetizer assortment platter, and liked all the appetizers in that, as well as the sambar soup. We followed with the bindhi fry, the aloo ghobi, and the paneer makhani, all of which were quite good and fairly spicy.
Definitely a keeper for our list of vegetarian places to eat.

It's another hot one. I see a post while I was eating breakfast. I will probably get out in it after I finish my tea, because there are a few grocery items I should buy. Might do some laundry. Probably not.

It's already ridiculously hot out there. I have already been missing Roger's posts, as he had been offline so long, but would like to continue posting here, as we can easily share links and/or videos that others might find interesting. I know we tend to stray a LOT from weight loss/maintenance, but we really don't know who may be lurking. There could be others who are finding us at least slightly entertaining. I hope Roger has a really high speed internet connection in Heaven, because he has a lot to catch up on here! I gotta stop typing now before I start getting my tea salty.

It's sumptuous Sunday! Another hot August day. Not one thing has transpired regarding the front yard. At least nothing has transpired HERE. Hopefully the engineers have been working on a solution but cross an elephant and a rhino and you get the answer. Elefino!
Broken cookies still have no calories, right? Hey, at least I didn't take home any leftover cookies. One of the hosts offered two, unopened boxes of tasty, chocolate chunk cookies, saying, "If you take those home, would you eat them?" I replied that, yes, I WOULD eat them, which was why I wasn't going to take them home! I think they worked out the idea to take them to church (after church coffee) or to work Monday to share. Better than my taking them home!

Howdy. It's marvelous Monday! Not a lot on my agenda for today. I did a little bit of shopping yesterday (that took a lottle bit of money) so I am OK on groceries for a minute at least. And I got some nice beef patties with bacon and cheddar built in, on sale in the manager's special (i.e. we need to get rid of this before the sell by date) section. They will each be nice sandwiched between two slices of high fiber, low net-carb bread (two slices is only one carb serving) as something like patty melts.
I might yet see the right side of 200 pounds this year, if I can manage to resist broken cookies. There IS another pool party planned for Labor Day, and I will be making another huge pan of baked beans for it.

Howdy. It's terrific Tuesday! I have eaten, and I have given the oldest cat her weekly Tuesday shot. She, and the other three, are not yet threatening to eat me but I do need to get them fed by 10:00 at the latest. A bit cooler here today than it has been, with a good chance of afternoon/evening rain. Hopefully I will be able to get an afternoon nap in, since I didn't sleep as well as I would have liked, and the youngest cat insisted it was time to get up a bit before I was really ready. LOL.

It's wonderful Wednesday! Not a lot on my Wednesday agenda. One of the cats was "visiting" a lot during the night and purring loudly. Not sure what she wanted, but she seems fine this morning. Maybe she just couldn't get the oldest one to vacate her favorite snoozing spot on the bed. Thinking back to the sad way we finally found out that Roger wasn't really a Christmas tree, this is how I had previously thought he might look:

Howdy. It's satisfying Saturday! Pretty hot but a very good chance for PM Thunderstorms. Not sure if I want to get out for groceries today or not. I will decide after I have my morning pot of Pu-Erh black tea. I am on the second mug (of four) now. The cats are intent on one corner of the room, so must have cornered a summer bug there, though I didn't see anything. Probably under the baseboard, unless they are simply conferring with a ghost.
