Hey! Good Morning. 9:30 and my only accomplishment in the two hours I've been up??? Made, and currently drinking my coffee, and time spent with the nutty cat. That's SAD! I think said cat is missing a few of his marbles. Hops off my lap, (we're on the porch swing) goes to the sliding glass door and yowls at it for a good 10 minutes. Does he think his treat comes from the door??? Or is he trying to guilt me into a treat? Cat is nuts!

Going to the gym shortly, like after some breakfast, and putting on gym clothes, etc.

Hope you get your laundry done.

Later... OH! Wednesday, July 3rd, at 12:30 I will be at the Forum getting my eyes checked.. RU interested in coffee?? Problem is, I never know how long I could be there....so timing could be 'tricky'.

Howdy. It's terrific Tuesday! Terrifically hot anyway, and likely the same tomorrow. I think I will have to pass on trying to meet for coffee tomorrow as I will likely be staying in, other than trying to revive some plants that a friend is sending that are supposed to arrive Wednesday. He insisted on sending them, though I have doubts about whether a couple of clumps of Lenten Rose will survive several hot days of travel and possibly sitting in a hot metal mailbox...though they may be too big for the mailbox (one can hope) and would then end up in the covered front entry.

    Good Morning!
Totally understand about not getting out in this heat for a cup of coffee!! Just thought I'd throw the idea out there, and see if if bounced! (also I didn't want to run into you at TJ's and not have extended the coffee invite!!)

I gave, grudgingly, 2 and a quarter tubes of blood this morning...First two were a piece of cake, the other had to come from another stick, and it was slow and stingy.... I am hard to stick, and I know that, so it's not unusual. Sneaky little tech, questions before sticking, do you have have a high blood sugar, answer, maybe, but really no! My last check I was one point over the 'legal limit' for normal. Never, ever, ever call a test on a single test, over a point or two.... and was my cholesterol high?? again, back to a point or two..LOL! I took it as a warning to tighten up my diet, and nothing more. Stay tuned...should have results next week when I go in for my blood pressure check.

Today...still need to visit the gym, (haha), and I'm going to try something,...I ate at Sweet Tomatoes on Sunday evening...(not a good choice or time or day), and they had a split pea and barley soup that was really nice. I'm considering dropping in there and getting a pint of the soup....to use as 'gravy' on potatoes, rice, etc. Using it either as is, or maybe a couple pulses in a food processor. I have a normal size one, but I also have a little one thats just right for something like a half or even a cup of soup. OR, I may not do any of the above, it will depend on the time, and the outdoor heat!

Will watch some video's when I get home and am eating my lunch...and at 3pm the Women Soccer team is meeting England. I am hoping they win, as so far they have been doing unexpectedly well!!!

Sorry dinner was so late! I enjoyed the stainless bar of soap, don't need one, can do the same by rubbing my hands on my stainless sink! I am sitting here just giggling. I don't usually care much for even 'happy' drunks, but this bunch with the Irish Poitin was actually hilarious! Perhaps because I was recalling the TN mountain moonshine I once had! Reminded me of a rough, or cheap brandy!
And Emmy with her baked in clay chicken...with the clay that she made, no less. That was interesting! Kind of thing I'd have had a go with when I was years younger!

Just wanted you to know that my dinner was quite enjoyable! Thanks!

    (yep, still giggling)

    Good Morning.
Saying hello before I hit the shower, and all that follows/ :)
Nothing much planned after having myeyes tested...I do need to stop at Publix for some V.cheese, and barley. Yesterday I got everything I needed for the Split Pea and Barley soup...except. for. the. barley! (?And I laugh at Tom E.??) Soooooo. Since I'm going to try making the soup in the IP we'll see what happens. Unlike the stove top method that takes at least 2 pots and a couple hours.

Will have to watch the video's over dinner again today.

Howdy. It's thrilling Thursday, July 4th! Another hot, typical day with 20% chance of rain. I need to make some potato salad and deviled eggs later, and maybe some grilled tofu for J, with my hot dogs going on the grill after the tofu is off the grill.

    Good Morning!
Happy July 4th! 20% chance of evening rain...hope it waits till later in the evening. Seems to always rain on the 4th around here!

Potato salad and Mac Salad both sound good. My dinner will be ever so simple...my veg. hot dog with bun and mustard, cheese and a scraggly bit of sauerkraut, either an ear or two of sweet corn, or I may make a recipe for kale and sweet corn. (that could be a nice addition to just kale...) And along the way, an apple. (I've already eaten my banana!)

Other than gym, nothing on my agenda today!! WOW! :)

I have eaten a banana, and there is a HoneyCrisp apple waiting on the table. The sugar gliders will get a wedge or two, peeled, from it.

I did get a small (one standard can worth) crock of baked beans going just because I suddenly felt in the mood. I used wildflower honey instead of brown sugar. These aren't going anywhere and don't have to be vegan.

I think I really prefer brown sugar, as, when I tasted the sauce, it just seemed to be missing something, and I think that something is that slight molasses flavor from the brown sugar. I did NOT add any brown sugar as they are already quite sweet enough from the honey.

I like them with honey, or even maple syrup, as the sweetener. It's just that I haven't used honey in a long time, since I am usually making a huge dish for a party and want to go vegan. I have, sometimes, used maple syrup in the party beans, if I was out of (or short on) brown sugar. I am sure today's beans will taste great after cooking for a while so that the flavors and spices all get to commingle.

I will make the potato salad and deviled eggs later.

My holiday "feast" was pretty simple this year.

I grilled some tofu for J and slathered it with ghost chili barbecue sauce.

Your Dinner and mine had some similar aspects. Well,ok, we both had hot dogs! I had an ear of corn with mine. Just wasn't really very hungry...go figure.

Sat out on the porch with a very freaked out cat. It sounded like a war zone around here. Poor old Tom E. There are still a few bursts of fireworks, but nothing like what it was about 9:30-11:45. Time they put the fireworks away til Christmas! Why? Cuz I'm tired, and I want to go to bed. Way past my bedtime.

Howdy. Hot with 60% chance of rain today and I hope we get it! Not much on the agenda. Maybe some house cleaning. And a nap. Kiara was the most upset by the fireworks. Some of them were from just two doors down and sounded so loud to me that I can't believe the people down there can possibly have not gone deaf from the din.

    Hey Ed.
I know what you mean. Pretty sure a lot of what I heard last night was not legal GA fireworks. Sounded like a war zone. Poor ole Tom E. was beyond scared. I just swooped him up, held him tight as I could and we sat in the swing for about 2 hours. He finally relaxed and purred a little toward the end. Mercifully it calmed down a good bit by about 11p. It was damn warm out there on my porch, I didn't get up to turn on the porch fan cuz I was afraid he'd start freaking again if I moved... so there we sat..both my arms wrapped around the cat, talking quietly to him, and feeling his body tense during the really loud, close stuff.

Today I am just tired. Have been on the computer all day. And, I've had lunch, and am about to go nap.

Gym will happen today, but it will be much later.

Later.... oh, saw your account of last nights dream!!! I used to dream weird stuff when I'd quit smoking. Someday I'll tell you about 'Pigdog'...it was a doozie!!

I thought I'd say hello while I was awake! And seeing that last sentence I typed I think I was already asleep. "Will play my games and fall asleep probably one of them!" Probably DURING one of them is what I meant to type, and that is exactly what I did!! Fortunately the iPad shuts itself off!

My today can either be busy or relatively quiet. I know I'm heading to the gym shortly...want to get that done before the final Women's World Cup. After that? there are chores, and of course my faithful old standby friend, Laundry. :)

I just saw a pop up, you've posted.

In addition to the "agenda" posted earlier, I remembered I needed to place a plethora of plants in the yard. OK...4 clumps/clusters, but there were a lot of bulbs in two of the clumps and it was already awfully warm out there!

One clump of white (I think) Lenten rose, to the left of the little pine tree, and one clump of red-orange Crocosmia (I think) to the right of the little pine.

Another cluster of Crocosmia (I think) and a clump of red (I think) Lenten Rose)

I'm betting the plants will do very well. (after some sorry looking wilting, etc.) I'm not familiar with the Crocosmia, but hopefully the Lenten Rose will do fine. May not bloom in early Feb. Might need to get better rooted, and acclimated.

And now I noticed that a new page has started. Bet its video's??? Will look in a minute.

Meanwhile, I turned my back on my 'friend' Laundry yesterday, so there's that, and gym, and possibly, maybe a Kroger run. I'm far from starving over here...just out of pita bread, and a few other minor things..

I don't know, but I am. (Awake at this hour)..LOL!
Ted is coming to do the lawn, this may have something with my early start to the day. It looks like the rain will hold up til we get the yard done... :) Somehow I missed yesterday's rain...Rained on Ted..scattered showers are totally unpredictable! and frustrating.

I have meant to ask, and have forgotten...what is happening with your driveway? Any progress?

So, yard and gym seems to be the major goals for today.
Hope your day goes well, and I'll be back later to see what video's are interesting. :)

Howdy. It's terrific Tuesday! Not a lot on the agenda but definitely a nap! I was up past pumpkin time since we went to the Atlanta Orchid Society meeting last night and then had a late supper at Su's, a little Chinese place not far from the Botanic Garden, surrounded by clubs, mostly gay. You might like it, as they have all sorts of vegetarian "meat" and even seafood, not that J or I ever order that, though I think I did order the "pork" once, just out of curiosity. J usually orders tofu and I get real chicken, beef, or pork.

There has been absolutely no construction activity on our street since that Friday morning after they came around to investigate my inquiry/complaint. The construction manager did say it might be a while as it all had to be run back through the engineers and planning and design stages again. That morning, the work crew, who had actually already arrived, but not started work, just packed up all their equipment and went off somewhere else to work.

We have been enjoying the quiet, though the front still looks like a war zone. LOL!

Well I did add a thing or two to my "agenda" for the day so far. I have my dinner of bœuf bourguignon, or, to be totally accurate, beef Tempranillo, started in a crock pot. And I plan to make some kind of stir fry for J for his dinner later. I have yellow squash, bell pepper, broccoli, onion, and carrots as the vegetables, and will fry up some tofu as well.

A little cooler today with 50% chance of rain. Might do laundry. Might do nothing.

Late last night, Orion climbed up the back of one of J's plant shelves, and then decided to come back down via the front, pushing his way through the plants and knocking several to the floor. The tumble and crash of broken glass woke me up and J, though he had heard the crash, had not identified the sound of breaking glass. He was playing a video game in the living room and was loathe to pause it.

He shrugged at me and said he didn't know what the crash was, and when I found it, asked if it could wait (when I hollered for him to bring a broom, as I began extracting felines from the danger zone), but when I said NO, he came with the broom and was not happy with what he saw.

He was able to use the last glass dome he had available, to reconstruct the broken display item and we hope that Orion has learned not to do that any more. I am pondering ways to deter him but none are easy.

Sorry!! That's no way to wake up! Hope the rest of your day goes very quietly smooth!
Coffee on the porch with the fan going, temp was 74 degrees! NICE. I had a little addition to my coffee, and didn't know it. When I came in to the house after spending about half an hour with Tom E. I discovered a moth floating in my mug. So, fished it out with a spoon, reheated my coffee and drank mushroom coffee with moth wing scales! At least I suspected there were wing scales...didn't really see any...but guessing they were there.

I've watched the video's. Hmmmm. Should not watch Chocolate Tastings before lunch. (Yep the TJ's Big Block of chocolate was behind me, and I did eat on square) Had to do it! And I wonder why I had such issues losing weight?!?!?! Oh,, well.

Today is quickly slipping away, so its off to the gym, and then press some tofu, and cook some veggies, make am IP of rice, and I'll be set for a couple days!

    Good Morning!
I got almost half inch of rain, and didn't know it until this morning when I looked outside to see if the trash pickup had been made! (it had, and it did)
I've just goofed off this morning. For some reason I began looking at all my many, many bookmarks on Safari! Good grief. After I was crosseyed from that chore I fed Tom E. and started looking at my contacts in my phone that was even worse. Some I did not recognize at all, others were no longer necessary, etc. My only saving grace is that I did wash a load of clothes that are now in the dryer.
Had a lovely piece of Ezekial bread toasted, and smeared with mashed avocado. I savored every bite...cuz right now avo's prices have gone sky high. End of season in Fla, and close to that in Mexico which is where most of my avo's come from. So....will wait until the prices come down a bit before buying another.

I went to Publix the other day, and they had the cut fruit..specifically the Sugar Kiss cantaloupe, I'd forgotten how good those taste. More like what I remember cantaloupe Mom grew in her garden. hmmmm.

Think I may have to stop there after the gym today. The whole cantaloupe is on sale 2 for $6.00 I believe. I may go on a cantaloupe diet this weekend!!! LOL!...by the way...got the e-cookbook yesterday...YIKES! :)

Ok, clothes in the dryer, and I need to change into a Planet shirt, and get my shoes on...The longer I put it off, the hotter it is going to get today! And storms tonite after dinner, maybe!

    Later,
