Hi
I'm back from walking and 26 cents, one Quarter on the outbound leg and 1 shiny penny on the return leg. The temperature this morning was 47 degrees and there is still a breeze blowing. I had dressed for the temperature and not the wind chill

J is off to an orchid show and will be driving from there up to Kentucky to visit family and do family tax stuff for his mother, and sister, and our nephew.
My iMac and my MacBook are both updated and my Microsoft Surface is currently updating. Guess it's a big update week all around. In a bit I'll get my virtual Windows up and check as it probably needs updates too.
Need to get out to the store after rush hour is over, and get cat food, Mountain Dew, milk, cheese, maybe a few other things.
Was feeling kind of crappy last night so dinner was delivery. We tried Murray's In A Hurry, a deli that we've never tried before, but the delivery charge was only $2.99 and I thought the food was surprising. I ordered veggie spaghetti, veggie lasagna, cheese bread, and brownies. I could have just ordered the spaghetti and would have had plenty of food. Each entree came with two long, supposedly home made, garlic bread roll/sticks, which we really didn't need (and haven't eaten all of yet), and the cheese bread was a decent sized flatbread with plenty of cheese and a nice marinara dipping sauce. J really liked the cheese bread. He didn't like the lasagna, as the noodles were a bit too al dente for his taste but the spaghetti was fine. Both were basically the same dish, just different pasta. A chunky marinara with some FRESH vegetables, mixed with the pasta, topped with mozzarella and baked just to melt the cheese and get it very lightly browned. Quite tasty. And there's a little over half of each dish left for me to eat while he's gone, along with two of the garlic roll/sticks.
You are having nice weather. Enjoy
I wonder if I have Windows 10 updates waiting, I guess I will know later on.
If I remember correctly Mountain Dew is a high Caffeine soda.
The item that sounded tasty to me was the Garlic Bread and the Cheese bread, The Veggie Dishes do not sound all that tasty to me.I set out a pound of ground lamb to add to the dishes to give them more protein. I can add half of it to each leftover and probably have about 4 meals out of the leftovers.
I finished off the Easter ham this morning, mixed in with some mac and cheese. I plan to soak some yellow eyed peas and cook them with the ham bone while J is gone, or perhaps I will wait until he's back. He may be bringing his sister and one of his cousins back with him, but we'll see. If he does, the cousin might enjoy some of the peas too so I may wait and see if she comes. Or I may just go ahead and eat them with the ham off the bone.
Between leftover delivery and the beans (if I make them) I won't have to do a whole lot of cooking for the weekend, as browning some lamb is very quick and making beans in a crock pot is one of the easiest things to do too.
Well, these cats aren't going to feed themselves so I better get these last cans of cat food opened and serve their royal majesties.
*UPDATE*
And now my PHONE has a system update to install too! Sheesh!parityanimal wrote: »What are we eating now from Dollar Tree?parityanimal wrote: »More iconic restaurant chains that went out of business.

Hi Valerie0 -
Howdy y'all. It's satisfying Saturday! 54 out there now with an expected high of only 59 and 80% chance of rain. I think it's raining now so I'd adjust that to 100% at our house.
Sink is cleared except for cat bowls. I've had a fine southern breakfast of chicken and spaghetti, leftovers. Cats will be fed in a while. The little brats got me up obscenely early this morning, again...the chicken was purchased while shopping around lunchtime yesterday. I bought some chicken tenders (fried) and am having one large tender, a good portion of the leftover pasta, and half a long garlic roll/stick per meal, and definitely getting 4 meals out of the leftovers, warming the chicken (from the deli hot bar) and the roll (from the restaurant delivery) in the toaster oven and the leftover pasta in the microwave. I've finished off the spaghetti now and will start working on the leftover lasagna next. The added lamb made all of it enough to make 4 really nice meals, with the added fried chicken.
A couple of things are needed, eventually, from the store but probably not today. We'll see. If I happen to get out to see a friend, then maybe.

I have tried the Chicken Tenders from the SHopRite's Hot Food Section, They had a funny taste that had to be from the Breading as the meat appeared to be real Chicken Breast pieces
Some of the better Lasagna Meat & Cheese or only Cheese I have had locally comes from a local Italian Deli that makes all of their Pasta Dishes including lots of different Raviolis and their Arancini balls and Italian Chicken Cutlets are so tasty too.
I watched the 8 iconic restaurants one, I liked the Ground Round, Unlike TGIF and others it was not noisy inside and the steak was good.
I disagree with the full size Burger's burgers rating from the Dollar Tree, I liked it FWIW, OTOH I did add a slice of Bacon and Ketchupparityanimal wrote: »15 restaurants that immediately tanked.

Hey...its getting later by the minute...and the ladder is still parked in front of the refrigerator, until I climb up and clean the top of the refrig. Dusty up there!
Antonio came by and got my refrigerator ice maker working...ie, he hooked it up to water again! Expensive fix. Took him about 20 minutes, cost me $20.00 and a cup of coffee! Can't beat that.
the cube maker is on its second 24 hours of ice cubes. This set will also be dumped, just to be on the safe side. So, tomorrow there will be 'keeper' ice cubes.
Rained earlier than I got up today, and maybe again later in the afternoon...but not sure about the second rain. It was not an all day rain for sure.
Supposed to be in the 30's tonite. So Tom E. may stay in tonite???
Looking for something sweet in this house. Just a bite or two...not finding....
Fortunately its nearly bed time.
Ted's coming out tomorrow and we're going to start on the 'storage' room. I dread it. But needs to be done. Glad he's willing to help me with this huge chore.

Hi Valerie
We did have a ice maker in the previous refrigerator and TBH the ice cubes were rarely used hence when it died we did not bother getting one in the new one. There are Ice Cube Trays to make Ice Cubes and here it is a couple of years since they were purchased and they are still in the cupboard in the packaging
That does sound a good idea to flush the water used in the ice maker.
To bad, sometimes You just crave a sweet.
I need to get into the storage room in the basement, Spring Cleaning time

Hi Ed0 -
Howdy y'all. It's scintillating Sunday! 38 now with an expected high of 58 and 10% chance of precipitation.
Need to clear the sink and run the dishwasher. Then maybe some light housework and possibly a trip to Aldi or Ingles. Or both.
And the cats need to be fed.

Hi! Ted and I had quite a day. I think we did quite a bit. Ted says not as much progress as he'd hoped!!! He'll get over it!!! she said sarcastically!
After loading the back of the car with stuff for Goodwill, and filling my trash bin, he drove his car to VeGreen and we had great dinners. All in all, a productive day, and lots of stuff for me to sift thru, much of it will get shredded because of personal stuff like SS number, etc. Should keep me in 'chore' for several weeks. Also means I dare not make a lot of trash, as the can is FULL....
Also he re-assembled the shelving unit that I had partially dis-assembled, and now I'll have a place for the 'pantry overflow' that will be more organized.
Tom has been rocked, petted, patted, and talked to, he napped in my lap...and he has eaten. I've eaten and am about to start my bed time quite early..
Roger the article about the work out idiots and the IV drips, cryo freezes, etc...makes me believe people in general, and the Left Coast in particular are really, really weird!

Ed the 'Arctic Cold machine was interesting. Don't think it would work so well here...as our summers are quite humid!!
