It's a miracle! I got the laundry all folded!

Lunch, incidentally, was a duplicate of dinner last night. The other turkey thigh, pulled/shredded and tossed with some of the remaining sauce. Warmed up quite nicely.

    Hi
I'm back from walking and no cents. The Temperature out the door was 72 degrees and It is still uncomfortable walking due to high humidity. As I headed out the door it felt OK for a couple of blocks then the humidity started making an impact :(

    Hi Valerie
Howdy y'all. It's thrilling Thursday! 67 with an expected high of 92 and 0% chance of precipitation. Need to feed the cats, feed me, clean yesterday's cat bowls and...surprise! There is still laundry to be folded. OK. That's not really a surprise. The surprise will be when I actually GET the laundry folded.

No word on the van yet, but I didn't really expect any word yesterday. Of course I've driven through "deep" water, but HOW deep is "deep"? My car has never been submerged...at any rate I doubt that it has any bearing on the issue, though anything is possible I suppose. I can't correlate any "deep" water drive throughs with the original start of the issue anyway.

No big plans for today. Feeling kind of blah anyway so that's all right.
    Hi Ed
IMO the water is to deep if it can seep into the connectors on the wiring where it plugs into sockets. What happens is that it takes time for corrosion to build and cause connectivity errors.

Blah is better than the alternative

Howdy all y'all. It's fantastic Friday! 83 with an expected high of 91 and 0% chance of precipitation.

Been up for hours, but distracted by various and sundry. Cats have, of course, been fed. Dishes are in the dishwasher, which is running. Need to clean yesterday's cat bowls. And need to go get cat food, beans (to bake for tomorrow's pool party) and maybe one or two other grocery items or even lunch.

    Hi!
Home from helping M today. We got a couple fern tables packed, etc. Then I shredded for 2 hours. Overheated the shredder, :), and filled one of those large heavyweight lawn bags with shreds...

Tomorrow I'm labeling already packed boxes with numbers, and 'destinations' like living room, or kitchen etc. And keeping a paper log of box numbers and a brief synopsis of the box contents...so if a box gets lost, etc. she'll know what was in box #13...ha ha. That should be a big job and I suspect I'll be there all day again tomorrow. And Sunday's chores are not defined yet...Will be there Wednesday while they load the truck keeping watch over open doors, etc...(escaping dog watch :) ) Like most animals his anxiety radar is working over time...he knows 'something' is not right, he just doesn't understand what it is. He'll get it when he gets to Texas and discovers a new house and a new front yard!

Roger...I think your brother scraped the bottom of the barrel for the headlines for today. Like genes floating thru the air...really???? Bacteria maybe, but not genes. etc....

I am going to try to get my dinner on the table by 7p...and an early bed time. Need to be on the road tomorrow by about 8:30..

Ed I only watched a bit of the vid about veg's not being healthy as you thought....don't bother to watch. Really sad faux facts!!! Some of which really were believed maybe 40 years ago...not true, just believed.

I'm back from walking and no cents. The Temperature out the door was 70 degrees and deceptive. It felt OK for the fist block or so then uncomfortable walking due to high humidity. It was clear out the door and I could see the full moon, by the time I returned home the moon was hidden by the fog that moved in while I was walking.

Yesterday I saw 5 deer eating the grassy play area behind the grade school and this morning 2 more doing likewise.

    Hi Ed
FWIW there was severe flooding in parts of NJ after 5+ inches of rain in three hours. The fog is still getting thicker, the humidity is forecast to drop later today and Sunday is forecast to be better.

While I was out and about yesterday I decided to get a Little Ceasars' pizza, They advertise all over the place. It did not look like the commercial's pizza having less Pepperoni BTW. It was OK while it was hot, cold not good. My brother ate two slices and said it was not good either. Part of that for both of us I suspect was the bready fairly thick crust. That makes it one less temptation for the future. I did salvage the cheese and Pepperoni off of the slices I threw away. Since neither of us likes to waste food the fact that We threw out food tells the tale. Weirdly to me the staff seemed to be one person, I mentioned it and he said it's OK since it doesn't get busy and he does that every day.
The truth about the IKEA food court. Or IS IT?
Never having been there I have no frame of reference. The nearest one is in a Urban Enterprise Zone. Elizabeth is home to New Jersey’s largest Urban Enterprise Zone (UEZ). This means that at just 3% compared to the normal NJ rate of nearly 7%, thta sales taxes are less than half of what you’d pay at the same store in Brooklyn or Philly. Or to put it another way an area that is bad enough to need something to attract people. Therefor I have not been and likely will not go.
    Tofu Tenders.
I'm wondering what the things are that look like Turkey or Chicken Skin are since I have not watched the video yet

    Hi Valerie
When I shred I am shredding until the overheat stops it. If You recall I did get a nice heavy duty high speed that chomps through things quickly eve CDs, DVDs and BluRay disks. I use them for backups since I can burn all three types, selecting which by how much gets burned. I have also created BluDay and DVD versions of The old VHS Home movies and vacation videos.

I actually bought what they call shredder bags. They fit the bin under the cutting part and catch the shreds and then, pull the bag, tie it shut using the included wire ties and done

I found some of the news articles interesting, The floating genes was a bit weird I will admit. This part is why I used it OTOH.

Some two million people in the US are thought to become infected with drug-resistant bacteria every year, and they could be inhaling them from the air.

The genes which cause bacteria to become immune to medication – antibiotic resistant genes (ARGs) – are able to move between different bacteria and also from bacteria into the environment, experts say.

And research by the American Chemical Society revealed scientists have found the airborne genes in farms and parks in America.

One of the news links today does not surprise me, Bank of America has a track record of doing things badly.
    Example: https://abcnews.go.com/Business/bank-america-sued-foreclosing-wrong-homes/story?id=9637897
No Mortgage, Still Foreclosed? Bank of America Sued for Seizing Wrong Homes
Some 2.8 million homeowners faced the threat of foreclosure last year, but it wasn't supposed to happen to Charlie and Maria Cordoso. In 2005, the New Bedford, Mass. couple paid in full -- in cash -- for a house in Springville, Fla., and rented it out with plans eventually to use the home as a retirement getaway.

They said they were shocked to learn earlier this month that Bank of America had locked them out and removed their clothing and furniture from the property.

Sadly they did that more than once too.

That is a good idea, I suspect that I would also take photographs of the contents in case of loss.

Good Luck with the helping out.
    Roger

Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday! 72 with an expected high of 91 and 0% chance of precipitation.

Baked beans are in the oven. Yes, it's another pool party weekend. Still some laundry in there to put away, but it's folded!

Need to feed the cats, clean the cat bowls from yesterday, get to the pool party and lurk in the covered area under the front of the house for most of the afternoon. I WILL get in the pool briefly, maybe more than once, but only for short periods as I just can't take much sun.
