    Hi
I'm back home from walking and not one penny was found. The Temperature out the door was 33 degrees and there was a light breeze that did not make the walking uncomfortable.

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday! -4C/25F with an expected high of 9C/49F and 0% chance of precipitation.

I didn't end up getting out anywhere yesterday. I suppose I might do that today, but again nothing is critical so might not. There is a friend who's wanting to get together for lunch but we haven't gotten very specific on just when. LOL.

Need to feed the cats and clean up yesterday's cat bowls. Hope I can get a nap today too.
    Hi Ed
Your weather is near ours for highs and lows. The outlook as far as precipitation in the 10 day weather forecast does not look bad as the prediction is for good weather.

Once You have set a lunch date, enjoy.

I did get a nap yesterday as I was tired.

Howdy all y'all. It's fantastic Friday! 6C/42F with an expected high of 9C/47F and 20% (actually 100% at our house at the moment) chance of precipitation.

I need to get yesterday's cat bowls cleaned up and get out to buy some kibble for the younger girls. Lilo and Orion have plenty for the moment, though we'll probably need to order some more for Orion soon, via Amazon, since our pet store doesn't seem to have the brand of kitten kibble we prefer.

I'm pondering a food vacuum sealer that I saw yesterday at Aldi too, along with a roll of extra sealer bag stuff. My luck and they won't have any left today anyway. There were only two there yesterday, so my pondering may be irrelevant since I didn't but it when I saw it. LOL. That was somewhat deliberate on my part. I'd kind of like to have a vacuum sealer but on the other hand I've seen so many reviews of so many kinds and most of them didn't seem to do all that well...hence the pondering, especially as the one at Aldi isn't very expensive.

If it's still there, I may buy it anyway. It's cheap enough that it won't be a huge loss if it doesn't work all that well, and I may be able to tweak that anyway, if it doesn't. J and I are nerd enough to do that sort of tweaking.

Let me finish this coffee and get on out there.

Well, they still had two (the same two as yesterday I presume) of the vacuum food sealers, so I bought one. I also pondered their pressure cooker that is meant to be reminiscent of an Instant Pot, but I don't know if it can actually do all that an Instant Pot can do, and rather doubt it, at $59.99.

Oddly, there was a couple standing right in front of that section, and examining one of the pressure cookers. I mean REALLY examining it, they had taken all the parts out of the box and were taking a close look at all of them. I excused myself to reach over them to get my vacuum sealer.

I did see them in line with a pressure cooker in their buggy, as I was leaving the store with my purchases. I presume they were buying the one they had pulled out of the box. At any rate, I certainly hope so.

Of course I also had to buy something to vacuum seal and ended up using all three of the quart sized bags from the starter set that came with the vacuum sealer. I don't often buy bone in, skin on chicken thighs as I can just grab some of the boneless, skinless thighs that I buy to cook for the sugar gliders, when I want chicken thighs, but these might end up being fried or at least oven "fried" in batches of two for future meals for me. If not fried, then at least roasted.

    Hi Ed
I use a Foodsaver brand Vacuum Sealer that I bought at CostCo some years ago. Being frugal I am buying lower cost generic bags from Amazon. Buying the Already made bags save a step in the process, that process being if using a roll of Bag stock You need to seal one end then put the food in and Vacuum seal them. I am not sure why some people including my sister have a problem using them. The only trick if You want to call it a trick is that the inside of the bag needs to be clean before sealing it to get a good seal. I can count on the fingers of one hand and not need all of them how many have failed. The sealed bags do a good job of keeping the contents in good shape, no freezer burn. Does that sealer have a Wet setting ? Our Foodsaver brand does FWIW.

Is there something special about the preferred brand of kibble ?

That looks like a nice crispy bacon considering it is vegan.

It looks like You vacuum sealed successfully. These work for us for large items such as a 10 inch pie after freezing it. Not to mention that being able to seal them for the freezer makes buying in bulk work.
    https://www.amazon.com/FoodSaver-Expandable-Heat-Seal-Rolls-2-Pack/dp/B00851QSDO

sadly when I was working retail I had customers that opened the box and pulled everything out and then is they liked what they saw would put the loose parts back on the shelf and buy an unopened one :( I also had someone bring back for refund a computer motherboard that they held onto to long and that they had written in the manual meaning if it was defective returning it to our vendor would be hard.
And someone wanted a refund on a Modem that they had over a year and had cut out the proof of purchase to get the rebate on it. They were very irate that we would not take it back now that they did not need it.

In many ways I am so happy that I do not have to be on the sellers side of the counter. FWIW the customer is not always right.

    Have a Good Day

Howdy all y'all. It's soggy Saturday! 4C/39F with an expected high of 5C/41F and 100% chance of precipitation, verified.

Need to clean up yesterday's cat bowls and possible do a little house cleaning. Since it's a truly icky day, a nap would be very nice too. I hope to not need to get out in it at all.

Finally finished off the huge pot of vegetarian chili I made the other night. Last night's cheesy chili mac was the final dish, and I warmed up the last serving for breakfast today. We had it as chili (twice) and then spaghetti with chili, and finally as cheesy chili mac. All were tasty dishes.

Well, let's see if I can find some interesting videos for this morning.
