Hi
Some chances of rain throughout the week. This morning it is 37 degrees outside and I do have the heat turned back on. It is a nice enough looking day especially compared to the weekend.

Roger and Ed have posted...I've wasted an hour or more here at my computer...and what do I have to show? Well, I backed up to my external storage, I printed out the parody on the Police's 'I'll be watching you'....in the form of a snoopy dog! That cracked me up...printed it off to hang on a kitchen cabinet where I tend to dream up 'junk' I shouldn't be eating....and I tackled my chubby little packets of email...and, and, and...
Oh, also listening to a food summit. Finishing up what I missed yesterday before today's discussions begin. Today is 3 of my fav. food MD's.
I'm betting the brownies from Ed's post will be really moist and tasty. Sounds like several decades ago when the industry went 'fat free'...I made brownies with prunes, or applesauce, etc. I also have printed out a McDougall recipe for 3 Lentil Soup. Sneaky feeling this too will be delicious in a savory way.
Apparently nobody really knows why the opposing LaCrosse team cancelled...the playoffs begin today. Its a half hour drive, and I told Nate yesterday that Grams would be missing but thinking of him during the game. He was very OK with that.
Should be nice here today...trying to decide if I am going to the gym today. My lazy half, says NAaaaa you've been 6 times this week...the challenged part of me says get it on..hit the gym, pick up some bananas, on the way home. Decisions Decisions.....
Later...
I would not call that hour wasted with what You got done.
The Brownies will likely be moist given that the Sweet Potato Bread is nice and moist and they could be tasty, will they taste like brownies ?
Fat free was IMO overrated
As long as You are not overdoing it with the Gym visits... Too many choices and I freeze undecided.GardenKatGardens wrote: »Oh...also this morning I sent (I think) a PM to you Roger...for your brother...that was before I read that Ed had already done that. Hope Jason's motorcycle training went well. Our friend 'Kat'..(not me) she was in the Early Risers years ago..from Germany..(husband was stationed there). Anyhow, Kat took a course to learn the rules and handling of a motorcycle a few years back. I think at the end of the two day's learning they were given a test, and certification.
Too bad that most states don't have a safety program for kids and auto's. They did, when my boys were getting their licenses...it was a High School class. Most schools have discontinued Drivers Ed. My boys also got a large dose of Mother Driven lessons!!
Ok, see you in the morning!
Did You see the one where the Apple watch survived being lost surfing and then resurfaced 3 miles away, this article.

They must be tougher than I thought. I know our high school had a drivers ed course, Now I do not know if they still do.
I learned from Dad as did most of us. As You say the kids need a course on auto safety. Actually more than one in early grades too so they know what to watch out for when walking.

Hello Ed0 -
Good Morning! Its brightening up..should be a nice day!
Gym as usual in my near future, laundry folded and another load started.., I've had my oatmeal this morning and my banana...and my coffee!
My gym trips right now Roger pretty much consists of the rehab elliptical, and maybe a 10 minute slow walk on the TM..another dozen days and I'll get the healing results from Dr Bones. My hamstrings are getting really tight, I need to remember to stretch.
Here's the question of the day...I am out of bread. (Costco) I have one ripe banana left, (Mex. Market) Tommy needs food, (Walmart)I want to make the baked falafel and have everything except the parsley...(Publix or Kroger). I don't think I can manage all 4 of those stores...so which ones do I choose???? Stay tuned for answers tomorrow.
Speaking of tomorrow, Roger, I hope your tests/repair goes well tomorrow. Being NPO is a pain in the behinder.
But it is also necessary to be food and drink free if you're going to be anesthetized.
And speaking of behinders....There is a gal in MA? who does a weekly eblog..sometimes includes a chat with area experts on various subjects...well, this past weekend her pitch was spring flowers, flowering trees and shrubs...which morphed into veg. gardening. And her recollections of her parents veg. gardens. She said that on Saturday morning the entire family went to the garden to weed...and any neighbor looking out their window in the garden direction only saw '*kitten* and elbows'!! I don't know why that has either stuck in my brain, or why I think it humorous...except I seed by and..and never really thought about what I must look like, bent over snatching weeds.....Something to think about next time you're in the garden/yard.
I'm expecting to end this, only to find a post from Ed...:) So I'll be back later today probably post gym and nap!!
Later...

Howdy all y'all. I need to get some cat food too! It's supposed to be a hot one today with no chance of rain. I also need to sweep up cat hair. Now that we have a long haired cat again, it seems to be accumulating 10 times as fast!

Hi
Some chances of rain throughout the week. Last night at 10PM it was 50 degrees and this morning it is still 50 degrees outside and I do have the heat turned back on. There is fog in the area, where the hospital is has a reported visibility of 1.5 miles.
I should be heading out the door sometime after 8AM. The Outpatient test is scheduled for 10:30 with a arrive there a 1.5 hour early and due to the rush hour a anticipated drive of around 30 minutes.
Just in case I have created a contact list and my brother knows where it is.

Good Luck with the stretching, That sounds somewhat painful TBH.
It has to be those stores for those items ? I would likely buy the Parsley and Bananas at Walmart for once unless Yours does not carry those items. The One that we went to sold food but no fresh items. As for Bread I'm easy, it is usually one of the three types of 647 Bread or a Nice large Rye Bread where once slice is large enough to cut into two and be used for a sandwich that way. That gives me 4 different types of bread to rotate through.Speaking of tomorrow, Roger, I hope your tests/repair goes well tomorrow. Being NPO is a pain in the behinder.

Howdy all y'all. It's terrible Tuesday! No rain, but HOLY *KITTEN* BATMAN! It's going to be HOT! 31C/88F is ridiculous for April. The AC here will be busy today.
J finds the vegan "meat" balls from Dollar Tree to be acceptable. As with Mr. Wolfe, the cooking time to get them good and hot, with a slightly crisp exterior, was a bit longer than stated on the packaging.
Vegetarians won't care about the mayo on the Impossible Burger and vegans generally know to order any burger without the mayo, unless the restaurant is a vegan restaurant anyway, as most regular eateries just won't find it cost effective to keep vegan "mayo" on hand. I don't know how long the shelf life is but suspect they would end up tossing a lot of it.

Good Morning! Tuesday.
Roger should be at the hospital/Dr's (?) about now. In my thoughts Roger...hope everything looks good, and whatever the 'issue' is can quickly be fixed!
Ed..you're right. Way to hot for the last day of April. If I had planted broccoli or lettuces this year they would have bolted by now... I do wonder if there is something tasty to do with broccoli flowers?? Is that broccolini is maybe?
Tom E. has converted to 'Mr. Outside who sleeps on the roof' cat. He's so funny. I think he and I both prefer him outside!!
There are currently 2 of those vegan 'burgers' Whole Foods has the Beyond Burger, and now Burger King' Impossible burger is out there. I need to stop by my local BK and try one. I ate the Beyond burger from WF, and was not at all impressed. (may have been my method of cooking , etc...or it could just be not that good) I do remember watching the young lady piling about a dozen of those burgers into her basket. She loved them. She was also a 'new' vegan, so maybe it does taste a lot like beef and my memory of beef is what I didn't like. Who knows???
Ed's right vegans know to not eat regular 'mayo'....I sometimes have a vegan mayo in my refrigerator...but mostly I don't us it. Mustard is my 'go to'...or if I just have to Catsup and Mustard.
I also think I'll poke around on the foodie sites and see if I can find out what makes up this meatless burger.
Today is gym and Costco day. With a quick stop at Publix, (as its on the way) for that parsley I forgot to get yesterday...And Roger, I did get some of my groceries at Walmart while I was there. I just plain forgot the parsley, and it really is an important part of the falafel that I intend to make either this evening, or tomorrow.
Ok, I'm off. Will check in later to see if Roger has posted.

88 degrees in April, What is happening. My guess is that many people will turn on the AC and find out that it needs to be repaired. It happens every year around here with the first use of the AC and the Heat in the fall.
TBH I look at heating times as a suggested place to start experimenting to get the right temperature.
You could be right, OTH if the Vegan never had a Whopper would they know it comes with Mayo ? I also wonder how good the Vegan Mayo tastes.

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday! Another hot one, but not as hot as yesterday was. They are going to be working on drainage for the upcoming sidewalk, garbage pickup is today, and we are expecting our new SIM cards to be delivered today, so we can switch over from Verizon to Google Fi. We won't be able to use the driveway for a few hours while they are working.

Hi and Good Wednesday Morning!
I've been 'stuck' here at my computer...Good and Bad. Reading a NYT series on Japan, the monarchy, etc. It caught my interest...have read the first 4 of the 5 part series...and guess what? I can't get the 5th article because NYT limits your freeby reading to 4! So, what to do? I've emailed the first of the series to Ted, hoping he might be interested....maybe I can get him to email the 5th one to me.... we'll see how this turns out!
Tom E. seems to be quite happy outdoors, and you're right Roger...he is not a trip hazard! As for his love of the roof....the roof of the screened porch is shaded just enough that he can always find a shady place. And there is lots of shade in the 'ground floor', or back yard for a cat wanting to be in the shade. Also there's the woods. Not to worry about him. His mother (the wild cat) was around for about 5 years and did a great job of teaching her babies survival skills, hunting skills, etc.
Ed, I hear you about the hair...I am not missing that cat hair one bit. Tom E. has long hair on his back, and short hair on his head, belly, and legs. Also since he is both white and black no matter what I put down to protect my couch, chairs, etc...one or the other of those cat hairs is always in abundance!
I'm still parsley less. Yesterday after gym I went to Costco...I also forgot to go to the market next to the gym so today I ate my last ripe banana. I really MUST get them today. (for whatever reason Roger, the taste test prefers the banana's from the Mex. Market.) shrug...don't know why. THey just taste better..more like banana!
I think today will be Kroger...I'd like a mixed container of cut fruit (lazy) and of course there is the parsley....and a few other items. I need to put a list in my phone...and stick to it!!
Ted is coming out tomorrow for lawn care day.... And when I talked to Jack, I learned that not only did Nate's team win the game and move up in the playoffs, but Nate scored the winning goal...WOW!, and Grammie missed it. Will be going this weekend for sure. Its in the same area as the ice rink so I can't complain about how far away it is, now can I???
Ok, some standing and moving time, and then its watch the noon news, and head to the gym...and a grocery store!
Later...
Roger hope you get good news today from your Doc.

We have successfully moved over from Verizon to Google Fi, which should save us a bit on our cell phones.
The construction company is starting to work on the driveway now to install whatever they need to install today for the sidewalk. So we are not going anywhere for the next few hours.

Some chances of rain throughout the week, looking outside it appears that there was light rain overnight. It is 51degrees outside and I do have the heat turned back on. I had my test Tuesday in the outpatient section of the hospital, The results should be available later today.

That sort of thing is not uncommon these days with newspapers. They let You read several articles for free then subscribe or no more until the next month. I have gotten around that by using two browsers which lets me view twice as many free. Their other trick is let you read enough to become interested than wham, pay up please to read the rest of the article.
