So, I watched the Vegan Protein vid after reading Rogers post. They're all good Roger. Just remember anything hat has cells...meat, veggies, fruit, etc. will have all of the 20+ proteins...just in varying amounts of each individual amino acids. So, by eating a variety of different foods, this gal while annoying to listen to and watch, is getting all the protein she needs. . I love everything she bought, except the canned tomatoes...and that's just cuz I'm not a big tomato-y fan. A little in a soup to help balance the flavors..ok. But too much and yuck! LOL! Just me of course.
I would have added onion, garlic, maybe a few nuts, and/or seeds..and mushrooms. And a frozen entree or two just in case I get into a time crunch, or a lazy moment or three. Plenty of vegan frozen entree's these days.
Ok, I have eaten my breakfast, finished my coffee AND a cup of herbal tea..(this cup tulsi, mint, etc = tasty tea!!)
For sure now...LaTeR.... (see how happy I get on the eve of Weekend? LOL!)

Ted should be here in about an hour,, and I have a couple things I'd like to finish up before he arrives.
Hope you are both having a good day. Will be hot here, and nice in NJ I think.

Hi
It is 58 degrees outside, The forecast high is forecast to be in the 70s. It is a nice enough looking day outside. I am running late due to a couple of factors, It seemed prudent to scope out where my Dr. Appointment is on Tuesday due to where it is. That turned out to be a good idea. Then My brother wondered if the Barbershop would be open so we had our hair cut.

Who are you and what have you done with Valerie? She never checks in that early!
Howdy all y'all. It's sunny Saturday! Hot today with 20% chance of rain. Internet has been down since about lunch time yesterday, and the cable boxes by the neighbor's driveway are opened up. Yesterday I thought that meant someone was actually working on it but they looked unchanged at bedtime and again this morning. Yesterday the modem wouldn't stay "online", but mostly blinked. This morning, it has a steady green light but still can't get to anything. I will try to initiate contact later this morning if still no change.

And....here comes one of the pick up trucks. Can't tell if its recycle or trash...ah, now I can see that it is recycle truck. I don't know why that matters to me!?!?!?
I could be wrong but in my mind it is somewhat important to keep work days separated from Weekend days due to the traffic You could encounter.
I did read that OTOH I still thought it was an interesting article. These superbright LED headlights that blind me on the road ?
We have no trouble telling which is which, One day is garbage, another day is the County Recycle Truck and a third day it is the yard waste pickup. We did have gymnastics last night. Will have another next Thurs, and then done for the summer for sure, and likely forever. O has reached the 'age limit'. Though she does work parties for Miss Lisa, and I think I heard correctly that will entitle her to also use the classes? or maybe just the equipment??? not sure which..
Almost dressed, and hope to be out the door soon...some weed eater stuff I want to get done today, as Ted is cutting grass tomorrow morning. So, will do the edging in front of house, and the back will knock down anything that I can get to... like my pebble pathway, etc. I should also finish transplanting the black mondo, but I think I may wait and do that tomorrow, while Ted runs the lawn mower.
Hope everybody has a good Friday, and is looking forward to the weekend.
Oh, and I double checked 'modal' and modality..we are both correct Roger. I didn't know about the word as 'freight shipped'...so I learned something. Which I try to do each day. 'try' is the word! LOL

Everything I have been doing is using the phone. It's not a Google phone, but uses Google Fi as the cellular service. The phones actually sold by Google can auto-switch between three different networks, but our phones are limited to the T-Mobile network. And, of course, wi-fi. But most all smart phones will use wi-fi for data when possible, to save on the data usage through the carrier.
My phone can act as a wi-fi hot spot, which DOES use the data from the carrier. So I'm not doing too much on the net with that, but I am using it. We have unlimited data, but it costs $10 per GB, charged per .1 GB, up to a maximum of 10 GB at that rate, and then is free up to 15 GB, at which point it will still be free but will be throttled. So we only pay for what we use, maxed out at $100 cost. With J out of town a lot this month, and the home net down for a while, we might run a bit high this month but we know the upper limit on cost.
A technician from Xfinity will be arriving this afternoon to try to figure out what is wrong.

It is 58 degrees outside, The forecast is / was for chance of light rain overnight and a possibility of heavier scattered rain showers later. I can tell a rain fell overnight since the street is wet except where the trees kept the rain from hitting the ground.

Unlimited Data, not free unlimited data, Darn
As I read that You need to pay $100 for 10 Gb of data to get to the free portion ?
I think I recollect that many if not most current phones can act as a Wi-Fi Hot Spot, I do wonder how that impacts battery life.
I'm not happy or unhappy with my cheapo landline ported to Consumer Cellular at less than $18 a month. No Data or Texting, not that I feel a need for them and I'm not sure how the flip phone would do anything using data. It was a inexpensive model at $30 when I went to Target and ported the Verizon landline that was being turned off as they pushed Their Fios service as the replacement, Free conversion and only near $50 a month, Pass on that bargain.parityanimal wrote: »We have a new internet modem now. I hope You did not use to much data while the internet was out. Have You considered asking the Cable company for reimbursement for the Outage since You could not use it and possibly for a credit for the cost of the alternative ? I know I am not shy about asking for credits and Senior Discounts. Even places like Wendy's offer a senior Discount

I can not remember haw many years ago it was that I woke up raring to go, I was always a roll back over and try for a little more sleep type I ended up having to put the alarm clock out of reach so I could not keep hitting the snooze button.

Howdy all y'all. It's scintillating Sunday! Another hot one with no chance of precipitation. Nothing definite on the agenda for today except for a nap! I didn't get one yesterday and was up late with J remotely taking over my screen to finish setting up the security on the new modem the way he wanted it.
Unlimited Data, not free unlimited data, Darn
As I read that You need to pay $100 for 10 Gb of data to get to the free portion ?
That is correct. We pay $35 a month for two phone lines (unlimited talk and text) and then $10 per GB, billed, apparently, at $1 per 0.1 GB, with a $100 cap on the data charges. Most months are going to be a lot less than than $100. After that $100, we get free data, throttled once we reach the 15 GB mark. The maximum bill will be $135 plus fees and taxes, and totals to around $143 and change. Most of the time I am sure we will be well below $100 for our total bill.
Most all other carriers set up plans at similar, or even better, rates, but set up for the amount of data you MIGHT use, and in whole GB chunks, and charge excessively if you go over. So if we usually used, say, 2 to 3 GB, but sometimes used 8 to 10 GB, we needed a plan to cover the high end, whether we used all that data or not, and paying for it whether we used it or not. No rollover either in most plans and you couldn't specify that you wanted, say, a 3 GB plan if all they offered was 2, 6, 8, and 10. You had to pick a "best fit" that might not really be a very good fit.
We much prefer post billing only for data actually used.
I think I recollect that many if not most current phones can act as a Wi-Fi Hot Spot, I do wonder how that impacts battery life.

Using the phone as a hot spot gobbles battery quickly. I had it on the charger a lot while doing that.
Interesting, The old modem either died or was not compatible in some way. I never had a Modem die, I did have cable internet go out and the service call ended up replacing all the connectors and couplers outside the house and Voila, Internet again.
I only used somewhere between $10 and $15 worth and can't claim that very much of that was NECESSARY. Now if they wanted to pay me for my TIME, at say...$50 to $75 per hour, that would be nice.
I spent WAY too much of the day doing my own troubleshooting (different cables, different LAN ports on the old modem, disconnecting, reconnecting, rebooting), then repeating some of that, and a couple of other things, with the first remote technician online, who eventually set up the service call for me.
THEN, a relatively short wait for the service call, during which I ate lunch. He was almost an hour earlier than the scheduled window, but you may be sure I wasn't complaining about that! The sooner the better.
The old modem was getting online enough for the cable company to run remote tests but either the LAN ports had died or it may have just been a bit incompatible with the new fiber they had been installing in the area. He was able to get the new modem installed, with some trouble, but he, and another remote tech, were unable to load the static IP address for the mail server and web hosting that J maintains and they blamed the work being done in the area for causing slow or erratic connectivity, saying we could get that fixed online later if it was crucial. J thought that was bull*KITTEN* and that it would be a major pain getting it taken care of, but I got lucky when another remote technician reached out to me online, around supper time, to see if I still needed help, and she was able to load the static IP for us, which, of course, added additional time and testing to make sure it all looked OK. But we couldn't be sure until we finished the security setup on the new modem, and she couldn't help with that, as J had to do it and we needed to take a supper break. She said she'd check with me later to see if we needed anything else from her.
After that J and I both went to our separate (he's still in Florida) suppers and then around 9:30 got back together online and finished the security setup so that the mail server and web hosting were accessible again. Then I went to bed! I let the last remote tech know that it was all spiffy before going to bed though, and thanked her profusely for her time.
I woke up this morning with a splitting headache but a couple of ibuprofen pills seem to have it subdued, at least for the moment.

Good Sunday Morning!
Starts with a beautiful morning..sun shining..yard manicured from yesterday...makes for a pretty picture as Iook outside my window. Finishing my banana, and then a few quick chores before Jack and maybe more show up to get me that mailbox I asked for at Christmas. (Jack sometimes brings one of the kids with him) Old mailbox is not only shabby looking, but is unstable.
Will need a trip to the gym later today.
Roger, unless I have an appointment that I need to keep, I just don't use my alarm clock at all, and yes it is across the room necessitating feet on the floor and a few actual steps.... I danced to the tune of the alarm clock, and schedules, now I feel I owe it to myself to operate on MY schedule. Which is why I very seldom get the top spot of being first to say Good Morning.
I'm sure Ed will tell you best about using the hot spot, but at least my cable co. doesn't give credits unless your cable is out for over 24 hours... also at least in my use, I seldom use enough data to be dinged for charges. So, my data and phone, and text are 'free'...if you can say that with a straight face as you pay for the cable usage.
I've considered getting TV and internet as a package, its way cheaper than just internet. None of their business if I use the TV part...or even own a TV!!!
And like a good senior citizen, I also enjoy using old persons discounts!!! Why the heck not?
Ok, I really should get this day started...will be back later, as I haven't seen a post from Ed. With J out of town, his schedule may have changed as well.
This morning was not a 'raring to go' morning, but the thought of hot steamy coffee got my feet on the floor!! LOL

Hi
It is 68 degrees outside, The forecast is for today's high to be in the upper 80s
There was a heavy rain around 10:30 PM and again some rain around 3:15 AM. I did not sleep well last night. I splurged on a Calzone and slices of Pizza. I ate half the Calzone and my brother had the other half for dinner. It had been many years since I had a Calzone. The starches are why I did not sleep well.
