I need to go read those articles you posted Roger. Interesting info. I take hours to find my tax stuff and figure out what i need. Then i send it to a guy.
Dog adoption at Petsmart was busy and hectic. We had eight adoptions. Boudreaux was scared. He was so happy to come home! So was i. I (and all our volunteers) wear purple shirts thst say Grumpy Puppy Rescue. I walk into the store and an angry woman starts yelling at me that i took her dog and she wants it back! I said I’ve known this dog for almost a year and the person who initially adopted him, signed a surrender form, so I amm 100% sure that i do not have your dog. She got more upset, “not THAT one!” I said my four are at home, they’ve never been out if my care and i have 9 to 14 years of vet records to prove they are mine.” I walked away. She followed yelling “i want my dog back!” I said “I don’t know you or yor dog.” “Aren’t you from Schertz Animal Control?” “ No, (pointing to my shirt) I’m with GrumpyPuppyRescue”. “But Schertz said you took my dog”. “ I don’t have your dog” it didn’t get better! 🙄😩🤬
At the event, someone brought donuts and fir lunch breakfast tacos. One lady asked “are you still doing that diet?” Yes. “How long are you going to do that?” “Forever.” “No, really.” “Okay, just for the next fifty years.”
Finished laundry, dushes, and currently cooking for the week (turkey and cabbage).

    Hi
I'm back home from walking and I no money as I was walking today. The Temperature out the door was 33 degrees. There was a breeze blowing this morning that took the wind chill into the 20s and felt worse when I was facing into it.
Still no Ham, Sunday the Butcher said next weekend. What the heck, is there a shortage of Cooks brand Hams or is it a issue with the one store ?
Since My brother was going to the market Sunday I added a few things from the Circular and ended up spending $15 on a couple of boxes of cereal, Butter and a breakfast bowl from evol called Smoked Uncured Ham Benedict that was tasty when I tried it last week. If You hold their logo up to the mirror the backwards facing evol becomes love
200 calories and 21g carbohydrates works for me.

We did have the rain that was forecast yesterday from around 9AM when it started with light sprinkles into the afternoon, Rain amounts were reported to be around 2/10s of an inch. The rain forecast for this week is 0% for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 80% for Friday and 20% for Saturday according to News12 the local cable only news channel.

    Hi Val
FWIW as the tax info comes in with the mail and throughout the year anything that might be useful is put into a Folder, One of those ones that has 12 compartments by my brother. Then once the last thing comes in the mail from his pensions he makes the appointment to have his taxes done. As I say FWIW, I don't bother since I only have one pension and the Social Security payments and Do not do deductions.

unfortunately crazy people are out there. It is possible that Someone at GrumpyPuppyRescue did end up with crazy ladies dog but to blame You personally, Not to smart.

Diet ? I think so until, well forever in my case.

Cooking ahead makes sense to me, When I was brown bagging it I setup the weeks worth of lunches and froze them. That kept the fresh and they had finished defrosting or near enough that the Microwave made short work of them. Not just Sandwiches either, Until they stopped it the Local ShopRite Hot food section on Sunday had great food. Rib Eye steaks, Bacon, Sweet Italian Sausage and Peppers, BBQ Ribs and of Fried Chicken and assorted Vegetables so I could create nice meal plates that went straight into the freezer

    Hi Jan
I can believe it years ago to reduce crowding New York City turned crazy people loose.

That Sounds Like my Monday weather, Not nice out, I did get out Saturday when it was warm and trimmed back the Berry Bushes so that is done except for the bagging part to get to the curb for the weekly City Pickup.

That sort of sounds like a variation on Minestrone Soup  It also sounds healthy and Tasty.

You seem to stay up late a lot TBH, You night owl you

    Good morning!

Today must be an uphill battle. I guess it is funny. For some reason my phone is showing to check my telephone line. (landline) I thought I had touched something on the phone by mistake, but if so I can not find it. So I reset my modem that has my internet and phone, and now I am showing nothing.. I was doing better before I "fixed" it, lol.
I guess I am writing this on battery because the link was open. Who knows?

In back tracking for a phone no. on my phone a few days ago, I saw a message from my lawn guy from 2 wks ago. He had not left a message and somehow I missed it. Hopefully I can reconnect and get him coming. My yard is really long, but I love it as all the meadow "weeds" are blooming. Looks like wild chamomile and something resembling a blue larkspur. If I was mowing my own lawn I would mow around the bigger patches. It must have looked worse than I thought though as a neighbor offered to mow it if I hired him. He awoke me from a dead sleep during a nap, so he must have thought I was a total idiot. I could not talk as I was not awake and certainly did not expect him! Pretty sure he did not believe I had hired someone. lol...

Pretty day today so hopefully I can get out and collect branches to prepare for mowing. I wish I could get my little mower going for a few things, or get a new one to my house. Sometimes my son drives me crazy. I wish he would check if I need something like his truck to get a mower. He is always so busy though I really do not ask. Not sure it would fit in my daughters trunk or mine, though it might out of the box but unassembled. My seats go down, however there are two metal looking boxes containing something that actually block stuff from loading to all that space from the trunk. Dumbest design I have ever seen, lol... :s I really should have bought a truck, lol...

I keep trying to get to bed early. I do not know what happens!!

    Have a great day!! ....Jan

My day started with three attempts to start an IV. Otherwise the CT scan went as expected. That IV contrast sure makes me feel really weird for a bit. In case you haven’t had it (good for you)...it causes your whole body to feel super hot. Work was uneventful. Maggie dropped off another dog just for the day. Later another foster picked him up. Tonight was my second weight loss support group...we made paintings. Clearly, I have no art skills. But it was fun.
    Tomorrow is court.

    Hi
I'm back home from walking and not one cent was found. The Temperature out the door was 33 degrees. Yesterdays breeze is gone and the walking was more comfortable than Monday's walk.

My brother got me yesterday, when he told me he had a winning lottery ticket for $500 I believed him, Then April Fools.

Today I am moderately busy, Bank, Grocery store, Dollar Store and send a problem report to Amazon. I ordered a 6 pack of A23 batteries. The padded envelope inside of the Amazon padded Envelope indicates 6 batteries and contained two 2 packs of the batteries for a shortage of 1/3 of the total. The A23 is a small 12 volt battery that fits the remote to control 3 remote power on and off switches.

Just wrong In My Opinion, Or just another ploy to get control of more money.

    Good Morning
I end up powering off the Cable Modem and the Router when I see that the speeds have dropped and that fixes it so far, Knock Wood.

Do You really care what a so called neighbor thinks ? A real neighbor would have offered to mow the lawn for free. The one neighbor down the street mows the woman's lawn that lives across the street, She doesn't get around real well on foot and he takes care of her driveway when it snows. That is the definition of a neighbor.

Yesterday I noticed that we have Miniature Daffodils, What I remember as a Anemone, and Hyacinths blooming. The grass is just starting to turn green, You are way ahead of us that way.
Pretty day today so hopefully I can get out and collect branches to prepare for mowing. I wish I could get my little mower going for a few things, or get a new one to my house. My next door neighbor cured the hard starting mower problem, He got one that uses a rechargeable battery and the neighbor on the other side uses a electric mower that needs a extension cord. Some years ago talking to my Car Insurance agent, She mentioned that her mower had an electric start.

Now that my brother has a F150 Pickup with the 6 foot bed and gang-box picking up large items is so much easier. Years ago when I bought my first HDTV a 32" I had trouble getting in the car. The last two were bought before the F150 from Amazon and delivered

    Hello Val
Three attempts Yikes, either You have really poor veins of the person doing it needs more training. I recall my brother had that in the past and he mentioned a similar effect from the Contrast.

I would not say that about the painting. I like it and the reflections on the water are a good touch.

    Good morning!!

My yard guy showed up. I had done some things to make his job easier, though he probably would not believe me or noticed. I still have a lot to do to get it ready though. So pretty outside I do not mind.

Hopefully he has left me a few wildflowers, lol...I do miss custom cutting my lawn, lol... (He did leave some, praise the Lord!!). Roger, My yard is almost an acre and a half of hard cutting..lots of trees to avoid and also fences, and hills and just weird stuff...I really would not want someone to cut it for free (unless they were family or like someone I would feed dinner for 2x weekly for doing it, lol... :)

Val, sorry for the sticks, that can be uncomfortable for sure. My daughter has weird reactions to contrast too sometimes. It is a weird feeling, even if expected. I love your painting!! Resembles a Van Gogh though since he did it first, well you may not be famous or rich. You may not lose an ear either!! Much better than I could do!! Your water is quite lovely...I am impressed!! I have seen ones less pretty or talented sell!! <3

Slow process but I am enjoying throwing junk away!! Sometimes it is hard to let go, but really I will never miss it, the kids have their own junk, and the flea markets can be overflowing with the same stuff no one really wants anymore.. Trying to be tough!! :#

Interesting on the Russian-American fly overs. I wonder how everyone knows it is in compliance??

I'm back home from walking and not one cent was found. The Temperature out the door was 42 degrees. The possibility of rain overnight did not happen here and the forecast breeze is starting up with higher wind gusts in the forecast.

    Hi Jan
The start of the mowing season for You, At least You have wildflowers, Here the only that that blooms are usually weeds or some wild Chicory.

Acre and a Half would make me leave most of it naturalized, IE overgrown

    Good morning,

Val, hope you feel better soon! For you to take a sick day must really be unusual!! I do not ever recall you taking anything except when you were in the hospital. <3

Roger, I remember reading they checked the planes, but to me I would think it might be easy to put something over on someone else, technologically speaking...One of those times I am so hampered myself I just thought it would be possible!! :#

Glad NJ had something good to give you!! I know sometimes the state's doings can be more than frustrating.

I did work in the yard some, though not as much as I would have liked. I went to lunch with a friend and talked for hours during the best sunshine. I did get to fill some holes and get my plants back out again as the weather is a little warmer at night, and watered. I bought a few more stones to put around one section. If I had my lawn mower I would really be "cooking!"

We are due to get about 6 or 7 days of rain straight on thru. With some severe weather in the process Thursday. I hope it stays south of me as I will be on the road. My daughter picked the day to finally get her car airbag fixed. Free- as it is a recall item. It only took her 4 1/2 years or so and she picked a weather alert day, lol!!

I had a hamburger and fries for lunch. First one in over about 4 months. It was good! Just had some eggs for dinner. probably too many carbs.. I do need a meal home!! :)

Take care all!! Val, get well soon!! :) ..Jan

    Hi
I'm back home from walking and not one cent was found. The Temperature out the door was 41 degrees. Despite being 41 degrees there seemed to be a bit of a bite to the air.

FWIW The Free Hams at the local Shoprite were once again a no show Sunday and the butcher told my brother they should be in this upcoming weekend, Ha, Same thing he said the week before. It seems to be a store problem, Tuesday I went to a different ShopRite and picked one up from a small selection, They had Shank, Butt and Spiral at that ShopRite.

I am sure that the Russians had some sort of passive scanning that was prohibited, Hopefully the inspectors were good.

:) ..Jan
Wow, 6 or 7 days in a row of rain, Not good.
At least Your daughter didn't procrastinate on a safey item

For me a Cheeseburger or Bacon Cheeseburger & Fries would be so tasty right about now. I am feeling hungry, Breakfast is an hour away, More or less. And Yes too many Carbs

    Congratulations on the Yard Work

No fever today so I returned to work. Yesterday I was not functional. But i took a work call where a colleague said that another guy asked him to call me to see what was needed to “get me to do my job.” OMG! 🤬🤬🤬 um, I don’t need anything but me to “get me to do my job.” The guy who sent that one was upset that the answer to his request was no. And I provide the reasons and documentation to support that. That pissed me off. I survived all day and did good productive work. I’m still coughing up a storm. I think my throat infection is now a sinus infection. Seeing ENT Monday. Im so tired. Yesterday i had liquids only all day.
Jan - you are right, i very rarely take a sick day.

    Hello!!

Sorry to hear it is an uphill battle there, Val. Those infections are just hard to shake. I swear, your company needs a Miss Manners course, in addition to a few shake ups. It is a REALLY strange company. (management...). :#
Hope the specialist helps. I am sure the extra rest was a help..intended or not. Great job on the weight loss!!! <3

The diet today did not work out as planned. I met a friend for lunch and had salad, veal parm and garlic bread. I planned on protein for a small super. Instead, I had a white pizza with gorgonzola cheese, spinach, and artichokes and a large piece of homemade chocolate cake with a white whipped cream frosting and chocolate drizzle that was to die for. Jenny wanted to catch supper after dropping off her car. Two Italian restaurants does not = a diet day, lol....But it was a great day!! Guessing Tomorrow will not be, lol... :D

    Exiting taxes...who knew... :s

Take care all. Praying you get your ham, Roger...at some point.... ...Jan

I Did Already post more humor, I love the 5th and 7th ones

    Hi
I'm back home from walking and one cent was found. The Temperature out the door was 44 degrees. There is a mild breeze, a lot less than Yesterday.
Rain is in the forecast for possibly this morning followed by a break and heavier rain this afternoon.

    Hello Val
The people where You work do not sound like they have a brain in their heads, I am amazed that the company is still in business based on what I hear from You. Sick days should not be questioned unless they appear to be abused and I am sure some people do abuse them making things tough for all.

Good Luck Feeling better and at the ENT office visit

    Hello Jan
I think You have understated that company as strange.

You and I both with Thursdays eats. There is always today to get back on course. The Veal Parm sounds OK, The Garlic bread sounds tasty, not Keto naturally. The Pizza and cake, Oh well once You blew it the mind tells You go ahead enjoy the already lost day IMO.
Yesterday I was OK until lunch, Then a Whole Italian Hot Dog which is a long Sandwich roll, Fried Onions, Potatoes and Hot Dogs, I had them hold the Green Peppers and Mustard. Followed by a Slice of Pepperoni and a slice of Sausage Pizza and French Fries that are so crunchy and tasty. They taste and appear to have been lightly batter before going into the fryer.

NJ, NY and Connecticut are all grab as much money from the taxpayer as You can. That is what comes from the states having a governor, and State houses all from the same party, no checks on what they want to do. The NY state budget appears to have been at least partially cloaked in darkness behind closed doors.

Regarding the Ham I had posted this on the fourth,

FWIW The Free Hams at the local Shoprite were once again a no show Sunday and the butcher told my brother they should be in this upcoming weekend, Ha, Same thing he said the week before. It seems to be a store problem, Tuesday I went to a different ShopRite and picked one up from a small selection, They had Shank, Butt and Spiral at that ShopRite.

As I am sitting here feeling like ordering the One Pound Steak Dinner from a nearby location that includes Fries and an some vegetables and a piece of Italian Bread :( The :( is for feeling so tempted.

    Have a Good Day

One big reason I’ve been do good about food choices is thst I’m not going out. I would have a hard time keeping to healthy choice and appropriate portions if i went out to eat.
Rsin expected all Saturday and Sunday here. My front yard weeds were getting tall, so I hurried to mow the front before work today.
I wish I could sleep all day today but wirk deadlines are looming.
That guy who called hadn’t known i was sick. He just wanted to bully me into giving the other dude whst that guy wanted...which would be a contract violation which is why i said no. I told the first dude again why i said no and told him yo contact my boss if he thought we should violate that contract for his needs. I am not authorized to violate our contracts.

    good morning,

I saw you seem to be getting some severe weather this week end for Texas. Hope it is not too bad, Val. <3 And hope you get to feeling better..Hard not to let idiots bother you, I know. So true about the eating out!!

My intention was to have a great diet day. Somehow Jenny and I managed to end up at our Thai restaurant after her getting a brand new Toyota Corolla as a loaner, for free. Toyota pays because the parts are on back order. It is a shiny red. She is having fun driving it. I actually only went over my calories by about 200, so it could have been worse. I have managed to eat out 4x this week. I really need some meals home!! Roger, your post had me thinking that food all sounded pretty good!! :D Congrats on the penny!!

I did not read about the ham right. I thought you were still waiting on yours but your brother got one also just by going to a different store. My bad...

    Hang in there...resisting temptation!!! ...Jan

I already did it, the it being posted more humor, Enjoy

    Hi
I'm back home from walking and no cents were found. The Temperature out the door was 41 degrees, OTOH the time & temperature display I passed showed 38 degrees. Either way it felt a lot less cold than Yesterday.

The rain from yesterday was gone when I went out the door, I did get dripped on from trees I walked under so I am guessing it had not ended all the much earlier.

    Hello Val
I do not have to go out to eat poorly, so many delivery choices, Chinese, Italian and more form multiple sources. The way I manage to avoid that is by not having money to order take out food since I will not pull out a credit card and use it over the phone when ordering  In my opinion the Credit cards are for emergency use only or large car repair bills and not everyday expenses.

Lucky You, Our lawn is just turning green and the Tree across the street is dropping red buds all over, Later in the spring the cars will turn green from what I presume is pollen from a different tree. The Lawn may need mowing before Easter, maybe

You are working with, words fail me for bosses.
The last job I had for 16 years used to be a good job until the Owner sold out towards the last years and it rapidly went downhill from there. I was relieved when I turned 62 and could retire if I could not take it any longer. When Superstorm Sandy closed us down a week or two before the scheduled closing I was happy with the early demise and I turned 65 a couple of days later and could go on Medicare. I had seen the handwriting on the wall for a while as the computer repair and sales business slowly declined. For the last several years I was the entire staff at that location, 6 days a week and 53 hours a week and a owner that felt that yelling was a good management style :(

    Have a Good Weekend
