    Hi!

It may be Monday till I write. We have a lot going on at church. I signed up for prayer vigil after our Good Friday service. I took the 12:30 to 3:30 am slot (3 slots) since it is easy for me to stay up. I also took tonite's from 12:30 -2:30 am. Which would not be a problem, except my friend's husband died and the funeral was 11 am Sat. in Montgomery. Then I helped with the food, and did not get home till 4 pm. I layed down and feel good now. My B/P was 220 over 100 when I got home. Reinstating my diuretic may be working as it is now 123/63 and close, 2x. I hope it stays there. I am getting to church by 8:30 am for our Easter breakfast that I signed to help for before the funeral and extra vigil day. LOL, my best Easter will be my nap and not leaving the house come noon tomorrow! :) I enjoyed the vigil and would do that more often! :)
    Hi Jan
That makes sense that since You are a night owl that You would take the night shift for the prayer vigil.
I hate going to Funerals, they make me feel so sad.

Congrats on getting the BP down.
    Easter
My brother always gives a basket of goodies. It has Peeps in it, Yellow naturally. Jelly Beans, A chocolate egg, Something called Robins Eggs which the bag calls Malted Milk Candy in a Crunchy Shell, There goes the diet plan this week :(

I hope Your Easter goes well
I wish I could go for walks from my house and would love to see deer. You are lucky to live in that type of neighborhood! ... Our Whole Foods uses plastic but encourages recycling. The food is tasty, and 2 rows of it, and they have a Paleo section, salads, pasta that is fresh to take home and make and /or take sauce, olives and pickles, pizza, gelato, fabulous bakery and breads, and also a Deli with unusual salads and other foods, (like tabbouleh salad and other ancient grains, egg rolls, pimento cheese, squid salad-- you name it!). They are all by the pound too. A little pricey, but sometimes not bad if you just buy by the half lb. or so. Some meats are a savings, but other you mortgage the house. It is great for a treat. I could not shop there regularly. Maybe I am lucky it is not close! Good selection of Amy's brand, and other organics. Some pricey, some not! :D

Have to run and cook sausage and take a shower, lol!

:# Have a wonderful Easter all! Stay safe! ...Jan

OTOH not having Deer in the yard means that Your landscaping is safe from being part of their diet.

I completely agree that Whole Foods has a nice selection if very pricey....
I did see a little Plastic being used by them in the Pre packaged prepared food so the the contents could be seen. Other than that only if the manufactured foods on the shelves.

Sadly the Whole Foods temptation is near, probably 2 or three minutes past the Local ShopRite Grocery Store and the trip home is quicker being that I can jump onto the Highway that has a 55MPH speed limit.

    Enjoy the Sausage

    Whew!

I made it thru Easter Sunday worship and made it home. I napped, Played ball with May May, napped, watched Amazon stuff and really napped!! Great day!! I hope everyone had a good Easter!! I was making the above mentioned sausage for sausage biscuits for the church breakfast. They were all eaten, so it was a good choice. I took that and cantaloupe . Balanced breakfast! We had a huge crowd! And many yummy things! I plan on doing nothing Monday either!! :#

Hard to imagine you are getting snow. We have had the longest spring I can remember. probably because we have had it 3 times now, lol! I am not complaining as it has been beautiful!I can't believe people are not more careless with their change and leaving you some small bit of discovered change. How rude! :D

Somehow, that Easter basket sounds really good! I did not eat any candy this year. I do need to get back on the wagon here though. Too many savory treats!

Funerals not my favorite either. We have an awful lot of older and sick folk at church , so probably not good.

Enjoyed the humor and articles! I do hope everyone got some well deserved rest on Sunday!! :# Jan

I have posted more humor

    Hi
I'm back from walking and no cents. The temperature this morning was 42 degrees and the snow in the forecast for today was starting to fall as I went out the door. When I left the snow had not started to accumulate, that has changed by the time I returned home there was around an inch on the sidewalks and roads and more than that on the lawns.
So much for the weather forecast that the snow would not start to accumulate on the roads until later in the day. Hopefully their prediction that the snow will melt away quickly after it ends is better :)

I hope You had a Happy Easter

    Hi Jan
Sausage Biscuits I'm guessing, Yummy !
Since I am now home from walking I have nothing else planned as I did the Laundry towards the end of last week and Only need to do it around three times a month with the large capacity washing machine.
Hard to imagine you are getting snow. We have had the longest spring I can remember. probably because we have had it 3 times now, lol! I'm looking out the windows and I see 2 to 3 inches of snow on the Picnic Table outback, I'm not going out with a ruler to check, the local Cable news channel is saying 2 to 4 inches in my area with treacherous driving conditions.

They were showing the Intersection of State Highway 28 and the side road by the strip mall where the local ShopRite, Burger King, Little Caesars Pizza and more are located and it did not look that good.
I ended up curious so I leaned out the front door and stuck a yardstick into the snow, around 1inch Plus on the sidewalk and 4 inches on the ground next to the steps.

I agree, how greedy of them holding onto their money and not throwing at around

The Robins Eggs were much to sweet to eat too many of them and that is from someone with a sweet tooth. I ended up eating a few Jelly beans to compensate.

Sunday was a bad Day for me and I was afraid to climb on the scale.

I went to the new Whole Foods for Fresh Fruit and made the mistake of walking past the Breakfast Bar that they put out before they switch to other hot foods for the lunch hour. I ended up with too much. Eggs, Sausage, Bacon, Quiche Loraine, Corn Bread and some Brazilian Cheese Bread. It was all tasty, However I do need to stay away from the temptation known as the Grocery Store

    Have a Nice Day

    Good morning!!

I wish I was at that breakfast bar!! You may be in trouble with it so close! Did you have ham for Easter? I was planning on having steak and potato salad, but had leftovers from the funeral and since I ate at the breakfast, I skipped cooking anything as my calories were adding up. You may do better than you think if you get right back on NS and limit those carbs!! :) I had a heart attack this morning , but in a good way stepping on the scale. :D I expected to be really heavy, and low and behold, I had dropped and only have 2 pounds to lose to get back to my lowest rate. I reserve too much joy until the am on Tuesday!!

Wow, some eye opening articles! I am glad I do not live in Venezuela. The dr. article is terrible. :'( The space station was a relief- none on my house, lol! I am no fan of the drive it itself car. It appears my fear of them is justified! The thought machine would be great for non verbal patients! Poor Taxis person... I would have dumped her at Bellvue after a few stops.. or the police station... maybe the plastics make us weigh heavy!! ;)

Yep, I stay home and save money, for sure!! I am glad of my days at home! I am glad you do not have too much to do, always nice!! I watered the first time today.. I have wet shoes and a wet, stinky dog, that thoroughly had a good time chasing the water stream and getting in the way!! :) Your time will come with the watering soon, I promise!! I am forgetting what it likes having that snow till you are trudging in it. I think it is about 74 degrees, and I bet Val is the same, if not warmer!! We get rain around Weds. again.

Take care and behave. My doc just called and said to see my cardiologist, and I have the lag and x-ray saying I have mild CHF. On well.... :| Explains me feeling weird.... ...Jan B)

    Hi
I'm back from walking and no cents. The temperature this morning was 31 degrees and the snow from yesterday has vanished from the sidewalks, driveways and streets. That snow was done falling by midmorning and we had around a inch on the sidewalk and over four inches on the lawn when I checked with the yardstick.

There is Rain Forecast to fall later in the day and again at some point on Wednesday :(

    Hi Jan
The good news is that my brother parks behind me in the driveway so I am less likely to go to the breakfast bar than I am to stop at the local diner or eatery while walking for 2 eggs, Rye or Whole Wheat Toast a couple of small bites of Home Fries. If I stop I tell them to only put a very small portion of the Home fries on the plate, if it is not there it is a little hard to eat

    Good Morning!

Well, your weather is something! Snow followed by rain. Pretty fast changing in a small amt. of time!! ;) Sorry no change!!

I shouldn't abbreviate! CHF is congestive heart failure, which I rather expected. I think this time it is more confirmed thru the lab and x-rays. My doc does not seem on his game lately. I am not sure I liked him changing 2 of my meds at the same time. my B/P seems all over the place. Last nite it was 108/64 and I was so light headed I drank 1/2 cup of caffeine tea. I felt I was going to pass out. Now it is 150/77 and I just feel weird as if my heart is just racing or I have had a scare. Not a good feeling...

    Good morning!

I am trying to change DRs but the new Dr so far has not given me an okay yet if he is taking care of me. Frustrating. It was supposed to take 4-6 weeks, but it has been longer and no word. The office said he has not sent them word of new patients yet. My blood pressure is 182/107 this am. No wonder I feel like doing and accomplishing something, though it is not good for me to have high B/P. Waiting on my cardiologist consult. Shame they all do not discount when waiting...lol!

I was not so good yesterday, though I tried. The lady I have been helping was somewhat off her game. I was to go there to give her a hand, but she was rather unfocused. Something would come up, and she would lose focus, resulting in me being on the road instead of home. I kept changing my meals, having a 230 calorie smoothie, no added sugar for breakfast. That did not hold me and I stopped for a Mcdonald cheeseburger that cut into calories. When we finally got together and I helped her some, we made a trip to do a few errands and low and behold, it was 5pm. She wanted to stop and get a coke or something, but I know she does not eat much or have much money, so I took her to dinner. We ended up at a small Mexican place. You know that is not calorie friendly! :D However, we talked, relaxed, and it was good. That put me 500 calories over, but this am, I had not gained! I was thankful. I plan on eating a lot more fish, and working on my lab results to get down, by eating more appropriately. Hopefully a good sign. I want to crack this next 10 lbs.... :#

Interesting and weird articles.. The George Washington one, I agree is nuts. I NEVER noticed me or my children getting special privileges by being Christian or white. Quite the opposite. Maybe we did well because we led a clean life and worked hard.. Maybe God's "suggestions" for life are just good.... Duh!! The Baltimore situation is just unreal. Why would these people have no term limits...Another duh.. with the ham burglar story. Why did he take so much ham? It does seem TV's or something you would be fencing..But ham?? :*

We were at 88 degrees yesterday, and a cold, damp 60 today with 25 mile an hour wind!! Probably you will get this weather in a bit too! Hang tough and eat sensibly!!

Miss you Val, hope all is well! <3

Hackers have taken down dozens of 911 centers. Why is it so hard to stop them?

There have been 184 cyberattacks on public safety agencies and local governments in the past 24 months, according to a compilation of publicly reported incidents by the cybersecurity firm SecuLore Solutions. That includes Atlanta, which fell victim to a ransomware attack a couple days before the one on Baltimore, scrambling the operations of many agencies, but not the 911 system.

    Have a Great Thursday

    Hi Jan
Good Luck with the Doctor change and Cardio.

Fish, hmm, As long as it is not breaded
Why not get a Egg McMuffin instead of the Burger, AFAIK they are sold all day. Ouch, Now I am making myself hungry for one :(

Yesterday I pulled a Breakfast Burrito from the freezer, one of two that I bought a while back when they were on sale at the Quick Chek 2 for $4. I vacuum sealed them and threw them into the freezer. I mention them since I eat something before walking and what I did was slice it in half and microwave it. Tasty too, My other option was a NS Yellow Pound Cake. I find that walking without eating I tend to run out of energy earlier so...

Something else I do is buy two of the Quck Chek muffin sandwichs which are on sale currently at the 2 for $4. I take the Meat, egg and cheese out of them and eat that and discard the English Muffins as that is the worst thing in them for a diet. The sell Egg, Cheese and meat where the meat can be Sausage, Bacon or Pork Roll.

Colleges seem to have gone wacky with silly course like Christian Privilege, White Privilege, and Toxic Male masculinity. They seem to be doing their darnedest to destroy anything that is older. Now in NYC they want a statue of Jefferson removed at a college. I never felt privileged, I did feel poor OTOH.

    Have a Good Day

    Hi Val
I second Jan's wishes that all is well

    Good morning!

I laughed when I saw you reminding me about the egg mcmuffin! I actually remembered they sold then right after I ordered the cheeseburger! I try not to stop at fast foods as a reward, so I had totally forgotten about them being sold all day! :#

Insightful articles! I have dreamt of being left in a fast food place, Yummy! But I guess I would need the cook there too! I know you guys are happy junk mail keeps the post office in business, but yesterday I had 2 pieces of actual mail, and threw out about 15 of junk. It drives me crazy. I order a lot from Amazon, so I guess they are losing quite a bit from me...Ooops! I laughed at the pasta story. I wish I could just eat a half cup of pasta. That would be a major mindset change! It seemed strange as really, if we all ate the servings and way we should, no food would be a problem. Pasta still gives me cravings later, and really who stops at 1/2 cup. I know what they meant, but it does not get to the crux of the matter. At least with my lack of willpower!! :D

Glad you walked, though it seems somewhat inhospitable weather! I do need to exercise every day...still not doing well with that! :*

Thanks for the humor! Headed there now!! Be safe!! ...Jan

    Hi Jan
The Egg McMuffins are even better for You if You throw away the top or bottom 1/2 Muffin

I suspect that anyone that never worked in a Fast Food place like McDs, Wendy's or BK would be hard pressed to figure out how to get all the equipment working to cook the foods...
Lets see, to make that Cheeseburger You would need to figure out how to use the clamshell grill, Bun Toaster etc.

Eat only a 1/2 cup of pasta, Heck I can not even eat just one serving of Kraft Dinner made the way I like it. That would be cooked, drained, and a 1/4 Pound of butter to hold the cheese packets contents. I prefer it not creamy the way the boxes cooking directions show. Strangely enough I do not mind the way Diners, grocery Store How food bars make it which is a creamy sauce. Whole Foods has two types of Mac N Cheese, One uses a different cheese and some Asparagus. I sampled both types and I likes both of them, Oh Oh :(

After I came home I looked out the window a little bit later and it was snowing, that changed to rain and has now stopped. It seems I was lucky that it was dry and windless while I was out walking.

    Enjoy today's humor too

    Hello!

Congratulation on finding a penny! :) You have more changeable weather than we do! That is saying something. I did wake to some pounds lost. That was good, but I must say I was never so hungry as I was yesterday. I did go over my calories some, but was happy with the weight loss in spite of it! Two of the pounds I lost already, but that is okay! :#

I make up Kraft mac and cheese the same way you do. While I like many mac and cheeses, I still like Kraft; must be from my childhood..You probably shouldn't mention Whole foods or Mac and cheese, lol!

If I was in a McDonalds, I guess I would figure out those machines!! :p

Interesting articles. The NY earthquake on a large scale would be quite frightening! Actually, so are zombie raccoons. I figured it was rabies or distemper.. Hospital costs are out of sight. Even for people with insurance. They seem to forget we have set money coming in..and not more when raising their prices. Cable and phone and about all bills, as a matter of fact!

Loved your jokes at the top!! Simple humor is the best! :)

Have a good day and don't work too hard!! ...Jan
