    Good morning!

Roger posted a lot of good insights about work, Val. I too agree that with your skills and attitudes, anyone else would be thrilled to have you! I would sure explore these opportunities if the insurance and pension pans out. Do not be afraid of change. We all deal with it...it is the one constant in an ever changing environment! Irony!

We are hot and tropical too. I was attacked by a moth in my house last nite. The last thing you want is to feel something is crawling on you. It did and it just gives me the creeps. I never saw it come in, but walking May so often, especially at night can be quite creepy! Geez.... :D

She gets x-rays Tuesday. Hopefully all is fine!
    Hi Jan
    Thanks for the kind words.
I hate that when some bug lands on me. The worst are the Gnats that fly around my head while walking and on occasion get into my eye :(

Good Luck with the X-Rays for May.
I never had too much success frying bread in a skillet, or biscuits. Seems I would end up with burnt outsides and raw or pasty insides, no matter how I tried it, even with lower heat.... :# Sounds good though. bread can be my downfall. I love it! Trying for a little more healthful day. I have to recycle big time today. Just hate getting out! :#

Interesting articles! Love the ones you find!

Waiting for some cooler air and lower humidity due Sunday nite. It will hand around a day or two, then go back to hot and humid! Who would think N.J. to have our weather, lol! :)

Take care all! (Tuesday is week #7 for May's surgery. If nothing wrong, an end in sight in just 2=3 weeks!!) Yay!!! Jan
The Fried Bread is a different approach to Fry Bread since We used bread out of a loaf of store bought bread to sop up the bacon grease for taste.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frybread
Frybread (also spelled fry bread) is a flat dough bread, fried or deep-fried in oil, shortening, or lard. Made with simple ingredients, frybread can be eaten alone or with various toppings such as honey, jam, powdered sugar, venison, or beef. Frybread can also be made into tacos, like Navajo tacos.

It does appear that our weather has learned from Your weather

    Good morning!

It was 95 degrees with dewpoints in the high 70's leaving church. Can I say it feels like being hit with a wet mop?
I walked may twice this am before church, and kept running into spider webs. So small you rarely saw them... :s

Okay, I could make THAT kind of yummy fry bed with store loaves! My mom used to make something when we went to the parks in Ohio when I was young. They do have a great park system, and we would cook lunch outside there. We were none to healthy, as she bought salt pork and we dripped it over store toasted bread with tomatoes. The hot greased cooked the tomatoes, add salt and pepper and some of the leaner pork and yummy! I can feel my arteries harden, lol... I love Indian fry bread, and I love the Mexican churros. Do you have churros up there?

The bug sandwich was a hoot!! Kind of like the hit armadillo cakes down here made with red velvet cake, so it looks like it is bleeding when it is cut. I could eat the cake- I could not eat that sandwich !! :|

Celebrating a cold front here tonite. The humidity will drop in the 50's, yay!! The heat will be the same. I will take it gladly!! A bunch of us ladies are going to Peach Park in Clanton, Al. on Monday. They have the best homemade ice cream, cobblers and not bad BBQ. The hand held peach pies are to die for!! They also have fresh fruit and veggie stands. I usually go a few times per summer. :)

Appreciated the humor and the news stories. Quite a few really funny things that brought a chuckle! Always appreciate that!!

    I have posted more humor

    Hi
I'm back from walking and found no cents. The Temperature out the door was 54 degrees. The rain in the forecast for later Sunday into Monday came true.
There appeared to have been rain overnight, It had ended as I went out the door then started around the time I was 2 blocks from the house and continued until I was back home. I had checked the 5AM weather forecast and since that showed rain to my east and west heading in my direction so I was dressed for it.

The humidity was gone and there was a nice breeze blowing Sunday. I mowed the lawn Sunday , when I went out there was no rain falling, However as I pulled the mower after fueling it and a light spritz of rain started and ended before I finished the front lawn. More rain fell around nightfall and lasted maybe an hour.

    Hi Jan
I do know how that felt since that was where out humidity was Saturday with dewpoints in the 70s. Not a nice thing to experience and when I opened the front door to check for mail the air smelled like a swamp :(

Oh Sure, We do have Churros I first tried one at a McDonalds. The others I had were from the Hot Food area at CostCo. Nothing Fattening when eating a Sugar coated Dough based snack
The McDonalds do have the ability to have local favorites as I also had Sweet Potato Pies at a different McDs.

Most Days I do seem to run into unseen spiderwebs when walking, I walk, no running

I thought of that as a cake TBH.

I have seen hand held pies and I think I prefer the ones that are miniature pies so that there is more filling and less dough.

Hmm... I guess waiting like that depends on how You handle risk.
I like the taste of the NS foods excluding the Tuna entrees and the Really Hot Entrees.

The rain had ended before 7AM and should be finished for the day. I need to decide, Walk to the Bank to deposit/cash my pension check or ask my brother to move his Pickup Truck so I can drive up.

    Congratulations.

I’m continuing to eat well, and i can feel the difference that my first (again) 9 pounds have made and look forward to more physical freedom to come. Because QVC took a while to deliver, i placed my order for another 6-weeks. If I change jobs soon, i forgo my vacation...and I really want a vacation. I want to take Em and friends on a driving trip that covers 6 to 10 universities and 3 national parks, plus beach and amusement park...all in 14 days! I realize that’s not everyone’s idea of a vacation, but i like being purposeful. One of Em’s friends can go anytime, the other isn’t sure, but knows she can’t in June...but maybe in July. My stomach feels improved with this ulcer medication, but I’m starting to have the extreme muscle cramping in my calves like i did before. Even though i love spicy foods and coffee , I’ve stopped. Wednesday i fast (no food or water) after 5am...so all day while I work. That will be challenging but need to! This is prep fir an abdominal ultrasound. Today at work wasn’t bad, even though i had to talk to Larry twice. Most days I can complain ignore him. At the end of Monday, I already had 20 hours logged.

    Good going.

I never did purposeful vacations so...

I am happy to hear that the Medicine is helping. I do wish they had diagnosed it earlier to make your life more comfortable.

I take some supplements and eat a Banana and that seems to have ended my cramps since I started doing that.
I do not love spicy foods, OTOH I was not raised in Texas and was full grown before I ever tried Mexican Food.

Good Luck with the Upcoming Ultrasound

    Good morning!

I spent yesterday with the ladies and had lunch, and bought some peach amaretto pecan butter. It is sweet, but nice on a biscuit or muffin. I had some peach ice cream, always good with some peach pie. Can you tell we went to Peach park?

May is doing well. I caught the Vet as he was heading out for an emergency MRI. He watched May walk so she can limited go out without the leash. Yay! I would have liked the x-rays to be sure, but what the heck., I guess I saved money. :)

I have to still go to the Dr. and shop. I have not done well, and am eating on the go. Not optimum...

Val, so proud of your weight loss and eating better. So many hours, though! Yikes! I hope it slows down for you.

Roger, I have to do the banana too. It helps with thigh cramps.I ate spicy food, but can no longer do it. My tonsils are so big and usually raw, hot food gives me coughing fits..usually embarrassing in restaurants, lol!

Interesting articles..still catching up from yesterday's trip and subsequent "I am dead time" from the trip!! Enjoy the better weather! Love the story of the guy rolling his joint...duh! :*

    Good morning!

Roger, I am glad you are so ambitious! Maybe it will rub off on me! I am so far behind with just little nit picky things and this week is a nightmare getting my meds and May May's follow up. Same week as my yard guy. I probably won't be home. Also have three returns and paperwork with it. And guest lunch and small group on the week-end, AND Thurs. singles out,and maybe Friday with my daughter...Can I spell over extended?? :s

I am still catching up on articles. I am really shocked by Hawaii and the volcanic activity. Not that it is happening, but that I can not hardly imagine it or living with it. Wow....I am surprised I do not hear that it is effecting weather globally to some degree...

Your weather sounds perfect! That is what I imagine N.J. to be in the summer, lol...

Val, sounds like you have options at least! Good luck with your tests! Keep us informed!! :)

May May ran like a greyhound so I will have to limit the off leash carefully outdoors for a few more weeks yet. It could be worse! Up until this surgery, the cost of the insurance would be equal or more than just paying. Hopefully this is the last of the huge bills. Not sure how insurable she may be with this surgery in her history...if it is like humans. I will have to see.

Hope everyone has a good day and gets on track- me especially, lol! ...Jan B)

    Hi Jan
I still need to take the stool down to stand on since the basement unit is up by the ceiling

It may be time to take a step back and relax for a day or two, sometimes that is more helpful.

I can understand that You do not want May getting hurt after all the expense. Good Luck with that.
I did not realize how expensive pet insurance was.

After a couple of days back at 100% on NS plan I have been shedding water weight. The worst part is I can not blame anyone else for my eating a whole box of Kraft Dinner I foolishly bought at the dollar store with most of a quarter pound of butter to hold the cheese packets contents to the Pasta :(

Oh well, back on track so I may even brave the scale again tomorrow.

I noticed You are very consistent with the logging. Not to mention that You must have been up real late or real early

Roger - I’ve held a wide variety of jobs, even with my current employer so I could theoretically change. That’s one way ive previously avoided lousy bosses. Hard day at work plus I don’t feel good...not sure what’s wrong except stress. Oscar has a problem with his eye and may need surgery to remove it.

    Good morning!

I have a taste now for your kraft dinner now Roger, imagine that! It was a busy day and I got some things done, and went for supper with our group. There was 45 of us- too many for me almost..the food was good. I had fried oysters and onion rings so i will be skipping that scale today! My yard is like a jungle due to the 8 inches of rain we got! Waiting for my lawn guy, he is late...

I am sorry about Oscar, Val. That sounds like a surgery you wish not to have...But most dogs do quite well. Better than us humans, usually! Hope work becomes less stressful!

Headed to bed....early for me! :# Take care all!! Jan
