Roger - I’ve held a wide variety of jobs, even with my current employer so I could theoretically change. That’s one way ive previously avoided lousy bosses. Hard day at work plus I don’t feel good...not sure what’s wrong except stress. Oscar has a problem with his eye and may need surgery to remove it.

    Hi Val
I have changed what I did for a living more than once, Vacuum Pump repair, Mechanic, Truck driver, computer repair and more. Which is why I was wondering if You meant variety of jobs in the same general area or different types.

I hope You feel better quickly.

    Congrats

    Good morning!

I have a taste now for your kraft dinner now Roger, imagine that! It was a busy day and I got some things done, and went for supper with our group. There was 45 of us- too many for me almost..the food was good. I had fried oysters and onion rings so i will be skipping that scale today! My yard is like a jungle due to the 8 inches of rain we got! Waiting for my lawn guy, he is late...

I am sorry about Oscar, Val. That sounds like a surgery you wish not to have...But most dogs do quite well. Better than us humans, usually! Hope work becomes less stressful!

Headed to bed....early for me! :# Take care all!! Jan
    Hi Jan
I love Macaroni and Cheese and I love Kraft Dinner, Notice I categorized them differently as they as very different in taste. As an example I do not like my Kraft Dinner Creamy, I like it drained with butter melted into it then add the cheese which sticks to the buttered Macaroni elbows. OTOH I also Like Buttered Pasta and buttered Egg Noodles, Can You spot a trend there ?

Yesterday's Extra protein with Lunch and Dinner and my Mid-morning snack was a Salisbury Steak from the hot food bar of the ShopRite grocery store split into three portions. Today shall be the Chicken Parmesan from the same source split the same way.

I do not eat Seafood, OTOH the Onion Rings sound delicious. I love Steak with Onion Rings or Bacon, Both are tasty additions.

Around here the yard services cut lawns even while it is raining, No day off for them.

    Have a Good Day

    Good morning!!

I DID notice a buttery trend...er...trail, lol!!! :D You and Paula Deen. There is nothing butter can not fix!

Did you see in the news that Anthony Bourdin died. I watched him when the food channel was big. It explains why he was such a rude guy at times. He apparently had mental issues he battled for a long time. He committed suicide in Paris. Tough thing...

Yep, upping protein is a good thing. It makes me less hungry. Lots of people do not like seafood. I do not eat a lot of fish, but I like canned tuna and salmon. I like fish but I never think to buy it. Kind of dumb since it is good for you. Of course I can not hardly turn down fried fish...and here I am in the South. The frying capital of the world...And it is so bad for you... Hard to believe you do not like some seafood! Did you just not have a lot of it or was it something you just never liked the taste or texture? :o

Good articles. Wish the animal talking story was more in depth. It seemed a little simplistic with it's title. Do we really think we are the only ones communicating in the world- and we even do not do that great of job, lol! :#

    Hi Jan
I did see that, it got lots of coverage on the local news broadcasts. You said when the Food Channel was big, I thought it was doing good ?

Regarding fish, I think it is changing tastes. When I was Younger we had Salmon Patties made with canned Salmon, Eggs and Crumbled Saltine crackers formed into patties and fried in a skillet. I used them in sandwiches with plenty of, You guessed it, Butter

Tuna Casserole made with Canned Tuna, Eggs and Crumbled Saltine crackers and cooked in the oven in a casserole pan.

In the fresh fish area, Breaded Flounder deep fried to a really deep brown.
    Shrimp I never could eat.

The scale was kind this morning. Yesterday I ended up at Bishops while running around with my brother. Dinner was three Sweet Sausage links and Sauteed Onions and 1/2 of the earlier purchased Chicken Parm. Lunch was the NS Meatballs in Marinara Sauce and the other 1/2 of the earlier purchased Chicken Parm. and Frozen vegetables.

Today I will be using the Turkey Breast in Gravy with some Stuffing I bought yesterday as a protein and mid morning snack. Hopefully tomorrow will be good on the scale too.
The balance of today is a NS Meat Lasagna for dinner, Frozen vegetables, Rice Crispies for breakfast and a NS melt for lunch.

    Have a Good Day

    Good morning!

If I make it thru today, my overbooked days are done. I can be at home this week a little more! I spent most of Friday shopping and Jenny and I went for Indian food. Saturday I went and bought some home grown tomatoes and spent the day cooking. I tried to be organized!

Your weather sounds great, even with the sprinkles! We had some pop up thunderstorms role thru, but the locations were spotty. I think I got some! :)

The malls story was interesting. Montgomery has three. One went out of business, sat empty, and is now a police hub and community center. The second has lost its anchor stores. Sears closed, Pennies moved, and the two other anchors turned into a outlet store and something else. It does fair business, and has to policy unaccompanied teens after 6:30 pm. I have not been in years.. The third is the new complex where some chains moved to a better location. It is more upscale and does fairly well, for now at least. Funny how things change. When we first moved here, the 1st mall was in its prime, with a carousel and stuff for kids. We went a lot, as the kids were smaller.

Off to church and the heating of the first round of food!! Glad for he humor!!
I keep forgetting to thank you for noticing my log in at 200. I had not noticed. I do that and drink my water- if nothing else!! :#

    Hi Jan
Nice to have a free week isn't it.

Indian Food is something I never ate... It is only in recent years that it is readily available, There is now a Indian Food Store around too. I would sort of like to try American Indian food....

The last couple of mornings it was forecast to be in the 60s, 70 is not in the low to mid sixties :(

Malls are definitely struggling in many cases until the Christmas shopping season, Then You can not even get a parking spot which is why I never go. The last time I was in a large mall was for my brother to take a iPod to the Apple Store.

    Have a Good day today

    Hi
I'm back from walking and found 8 cents (8 pennies) within a one block area as I was nearing home. The Temperature out the door was 57 degrees.

We had rain Sunday afternoon into the evening, It was still raining lightly when I retired for the day. This morning it was not raining, however as wet as everything was and considering the Drops falling from the trees it had recently ended. I did manage to stay dry OTOH so it was all good.

    Good morning!

I did indeed live thru Sunday and I am beat! I could barely walk Monday, and only did some dishes and wash, enough so I have something to wear to my Dr appointment on Tuesday. I have that, and meeting a friend for lunch, then home. I wish I was home a bit more on Tuesday!!

It came down so fast the entire yard flooded as well as my front porch. He still did a good job, bless his heart!

    Hi Jan
That would likely be a good thing to wear something clean to the doctors and then the lunch with a friend. By the time I got around to doing the laundry yesterday I had one clean pocket T-Shirt left which is what I wear while walking. The iPod goes in the shirt pocket and it is always good to have reserves of clean clothes in case I spilled coffee on the one I was wearing. And yes it has happened :(

I have been told that as long as the blade is sharp it does no real harm to cut the grass in the rain, It could also be true that the yard service saying that is only covering against not mowing in rainy weather.

Parts of NJ, fortunately not where I am had over 6 inches of rain Monday.

There is a lot of pollution in the Ukraine from Chernobyl sadly.

    Have a Good Day

Hi. Sorry I missed a few days. Great news is that Oscar’s eye is healing well...no surgery needed! He won’t be able to see through the scar tissue but he’ll adjust fine. I’ll be in vacation 7/7 to 7/19. Both of Em’s friends can go with! Tons of preparatory logistics to deal with...but i got it. Still hate my job. Tomorrow toe surgery to remove painful growth. Next week i get my GI test results. Puppy has two families to visit next weekend...hoping he finds his match. Also need to get car serviced in advance of our 3,500 mile journey. Roger- ive had many diverse unrelated jobs plus some similar jobs. Take care, Val

    Good Morning!!

Val, it was so good to hear from you. I am so glad about Oscar! Great to not need that surgery! Hope your pup finds a great family! Sounds like it will be an amazing vacation! That is a lot of miles! Anticipation is a lot of the fun! Glad you will be getting some of the physical things taken care of, and hopefully addressed to a completion!! Employers are lucky to have you!! I hope they realize it more and more!! :)

Roger, you found so much change in the last few days, there may not be any left! Funny with the better warmer weather you are finding more change! I would think they might lose more bundled up!!

Six inches of rain at one time is not too good usually. Montgomery and surrounding areas flood very much when that happens- I guess true of most places. My water table must still be high from Alberto to flood the whole yard as mine did on Monday. Parts still look bone dry this afternoon however, go figure. I planted some sweet potato vines, the decorative kind, today as I stumbled across some tubers yesterday I had put up. They are very easy care greenery so I put them in my very back flower box, which is shady and a bit of a walk. They will again put out 3 or 4 more tubers per plant for next year by summer's end. Love those self perpetuating plants, lol!

Headed for humor- thank you as always!

    Hi Val
What happened to poor Oscars eye that it has scar tissue ? I do not recall You ever mentioning what.

Does the 4th of July add any days to Your vacation. Having it fall on Wednesday is not optimal for most people to get a extended weekend.

Good Luck With the GI results and the Toe Surgery.

I like flowering plants that do not have to be bought year after year. Why not plant real sweet potato plants and have decorative plants that are edible too.

I have a suspicion that many doctors never learned a good bedside manner. You need to do more than just the health aspect since IMO the patient's morale can be helpful too.

    Good morning!

    Still finding money!! :)

These storms can catch people unaware! Whether larger storms or those quick sprinkles! Glad you have the heads up when walking!!

So sad about the baobab trees. And hard to say what caused it as many plants and animals seem to be dying off almost as a cycle issue too. So complex. I would love to see those trees in person! I have not planted veggies the last few years. If I go away for the summer, I will just lose the garden. Most of my friends live too far too ask them to water. Also, with the mold and ants, birds, and other assorted yuckies- the bugs go for it, it is almost not worth the trouble. I can support the farmers market or roadside stands for less work. I do get that spring urge, but try to rein it in! One summer I lost my tomatoes to huge worms that thrived despite the dust used and picking them off. I got off like 10 huge caterpillar type worms one morning, and by the afternoon, more were back and ate them. Too few for all the work..Not worth the effort at times...It is a challenge where I live! I may try something next year...or not, lol!

Unreal to be fined for cutting your trees. Safety is important too. Sometimes common sense is in short supply. And I am not for cutting much, being a tree hugger by birth!! Glad the guy got his money back after being scammed...but how dumb can you be.... :s I hope they find the vandals to the rock- I am glad they will clean it off, but I bet that it will be a fortune to do!

So true about Dr and bedside manners!! You hit that nail on the head!!

Be safe! Be good!! :# ...Jan B)

Hi. I don’t know what happened to Oscar’s eye, but last Wednesday I noticed it was red and lumpy and looked bad. Vet thought he’d have to surgically remove it, but tried antibiotic ointment first. Rechecked 4 days later...and it is healing and looking much better.
