    Hi
I was out walking starting at 6:50 until 8:25 +17 cents, all pennies from within a 6 foot stretch of sidewalk & 7100 steps so far. The Overnight Temperatures dropped by a whopping 0.3 degrees from 1:30 to 6AM, It seems Summer is here now. 66 degrees when I left, The Living Room was 77 degrees so I turned on the Wall AC before I left to get a start cooling that floor of the house. It is supposed to be in the upper 80s later on today for a High, Likewise for tomorrow :( There Goes the Electric Bill with two 220 Volt AC units and one 110 volt AC running today.

Breakfast shortly, a Frozen NS Cinnamon Roll Again and a NS Vanilla Protein Shake to finish the breakfast. The Banana was eaten before I went out the door. I stopped at the local Grocery Store for an assortment of Apples, 1 Gala, 1 Fuji & 2 Granny Smith. I picked up three greenish Bananas and four Navel oranges at the ShopRite Yesterday so I am good for fruit for three more days on Bananas and 4 more days after today for Other fruit.

    Have a Great Week

The reward for 70- hour weeks is continued employment (no OT pay, as I'm salaried). I took today off, well, not really--packed up all my things from my work desk and moved them home. Because of my hip, I've been out of the office, so since our office is relocating in August they said the new office will have no permanent spot for me...so I officially work from home now. I can still go to the new location if i need to print a big document or something.
I'm enjoying fresh corn and watermelon!!!
Hip is hurting a lot right now.

    Hi Val
I think I would be asking for Comp time, I made the mistake of letting them convert me from hourly to salary on one job, Suddenly my hours jumped per week jumped way up.

I bought a inexpensive AKA Cheap $50 Brother laser printer so as to avoid buying ink cartridges a couple of years ago. I also bought a spare Toner at the same time as it was on sale too. I was printing a page or more a day for well over a year on the starter Toner that came with it before I needed to change the toner. I think it prints pretty fast for a cheapo printer too.

The Local Grocery store has corn at 8 for $1.99 currently.

I hope the Hip gets better for You. I have started trying something different for the recent pain. When I get up I take a Acetaminophen and a Aspirin, then I break up a second Aspirin with my teeth to get it started working quickly and then I have my Banana so as to not be having them on a empty stomach. That seems to be working better than the two Aspirin I tried at first.

    Enjoy the Day

    Hi
I was out walking starting at 6:25 until 7:55 and 7100 steps.
69 degrees when I left, The Living Room was 77 degrees on my return so I turned on the Wall AC. It is supposed to be in the mid 80s later on today for a High, Tomorrow will be cooler. There is a chance of rain later today and at some point Wednesday. It was not too bad walking as I was out the door somewhat earlier than yesterday and once again I stayed on the shady side where possible. It was starting to feel somewhat warm when I had to walk in the sunshine.

Breakfast shortly, Cereal 110 calories with 4 oz of 1% milk 50 calories and sweetener and a NS Coffee Protein Shake to finish the breakfast. The Banana was eaten before I went out the door.

    Have a Great Tuesday

Hi! My boss is insisting that I take Friday Saturday and Sunday off. She wanted me to take Thursday too, but I said i just can't because I have to get my work done.
I'm still beyond thrilled with sleeping since getting my weighted blanket...if i had to choose between this blanket or sliced bread, the bread would go....sleep really is as wonderful as people have been saying. Em loves hers, and my roommate loves hers too (and they never had any sleep issues).

    Hi
I was out walking starting at 6:55 until 8:05 and 7000 steps.
The weather report showed it as 11 degrees cooler than yesterday when I left. It is supposed to be in the mid 70s later on today for a High, Tomorrow will be slightly cooler. There is a chance of rain later today It was not too bad walking either. I stopped at the Grocery Store for a head of Lettuce and bought a La Yogurt light 90 calories to try as it was 59 cents minus the Wednesday Senior 10% discount of 5.9 cents :)

Breakfast shortly, Cereal 110 calories with 4 oz of 1% milk 50 calories and sweetener and a NS Chocolate Protein Shake to finish the breakfast. The Banana was eaten before I went out the door as usual. For the curious I rotate 5 different cereals so that I have a different one each day. I did select them to be whole grain and reasonable statistics as well as portion size for the 100 to 110 calories. A example would be Multi Grain Cheerios rather than regular Cheerios. Maybe Next week or two I will stack the Senior Discount with a coupon that gives $1 off of two boxes and stock up. 50 cents Plus 10% off seems like a reasonable price to me :)

    Have a Great Wednesday

Thanks Roger... My boss had a talk w me as to why I'm so hard on myself. She wants me to say no to requests, yet also seriously appreciates being able to count on me for so much. She wishes my work ethic would rub off on others. If I remember, when I visit her office in July, I'll sneek in her office and put my feet up in her desk! She'd get a kick out of that...but what if someone else comes in? they might not understand.

    Hi
I walked a little longer than usual 8K Steps + one Nickel. I picked up one Banana as the ones I have from Yesterday are still nice and green and will not be ready to eat Friday Morning and a Loaf of Pecan Raisin Bread 90 calories to try as a Smart Carb at the Produce store, then I walked over to the bank and killed a few minutes until they opened so I could cash a check to refill my cash on hand for any needs.

The weather is cool today too, Cooler than Yesterday

I'm having a new challenge. A friend who has been on disability and not worked a paying job since the 1980s, wanted to get a job and asked me if I could help her get a job at my company. Shes smart and has a good work ethic (we met volunteering at an animal shelter). Well, apparently i do have some clout and my boss created a position and hired her. And I'm training her....remotely (she works from home so she doesn't see anyone or anything going on). The piece I hadn't thought of is the time-machine effect. I am having the try to build a foundation of how business is accomplished and translate it to the 80s...her only reference point.
So, yes, Roger, I'm going to work today....my agreed day off. I didn't get my tasks done.

I stopped at the Grocery store while walking + 7700 steps, While there I picked up 4 different types of apples, 4 Navel oranges and a Banana for tomorrow as the green ones are taking their sweet time turning yellow. With my luck they will go yellow today into tomorrow morning :)

The weather is slightly warmer than yesterday and was great walking weather, Spotty showers in the forecast for Saturday later in the day.

Thanks Roger... I authenticity like helping...people, animals, environment. People are the most tricky (ref my having previously taken in four homeless young adults. All are employed and not homeless now! One has become my housemate...win-win, she's delightful company to chat with, she takes care of my doggies when we travel, and we are each other's emergency backup for life stuff like car breakdowns or rides ti the hospital.

    Hi
It was cool when I started out walking + 7900 Steps and 1 Cent. On the inbound leg around 6200 steps I started feeling warm so I pulled off the thin long sleeve shirt and put it in my pocket for the remainder of the walk.

    Have a Great Weekend

    Hi
It stayed warm overnight, it was 79.9 degrees at 2AM and it was still 76 degrees and humid at 6:20 when I went out the door. The only thing that helped was staying on the shady side of the road and a intermittent breeze. 7500 steps and one Penny.

    Have a Great Sunday

    Hi
7500 steps today, so far, I walked to the Post Office on my walk and mailed my brothers stuff. Is it just a local thing that most of the mail drop boxes have disappeared from the area?
Much cooler today than yesterday for the same time of day, It was even cool by evening yesterday after a cold front went through at some point during the day and the humidity was down nicely as a result too.

    Have a Great upcoming Week

I walked 4.5 miles yesterday...sore but not too bad! I had to consciously remember to stop limping.
Today's accomplishment... I replaced my toilet flapper! True...very easy, once you know which one to buy and how to do it.

6900 steps today and 16 cents found in two places. Today is nearly the same as yesterday and it was pleasant walking. Today as was the case Yesterday the Sun felt good when I was in the sunny spots and it was a bit cool in the shady spots with the breeze.

    Have a Great Tuesday

    Hi Val
That sounds like a good day to me :)

I went the lazy method when I replaced the flapper, I bought one that is more or less universal and Pried off the old valve and put the new one over the pins from the old one and adjusted the chain and done.

Many House plumbing repairs are pretty easy once You know how and do not require much in the way of special tools. Faucets do require a Basin Wrench however.

8500 steps so far today. Today is nearly the same weather as yesterday with a bit more warmth, walking was OK. Coffee, Post Office and Grocery Store on my walk using the backpack for the 6 Apples and 6 Navel oranges at 6 for 1.99 and one Banana as they were somewhat ripe less the 10% senior discount. Then home for NS waffles and out to Costco to spend another $120 :)

I had a oops moment today and forgot to take my FitBit so no step count :(
Despite the weather forecast last night showing rain overnight into today I have not seen any rain when I was walking and the Cars only had a few scattered drops on them from the overnight hours. The Temperature was around 70 when I left and Probably not much higher now due to the cloudy skies.

The Temperature was in the 60s when I left and started feeling warmer on the homeward bound leg..

I ended up going back out yesterday with 13,475 steps and so far today I am up to 11,700 steps and I also found one dime on the way back from the Barber Shop. It was around 59 degrees when I started out a little after 7AM, Now it is getting warm with a forecast high in the mid to upper 80s.

    Hi All!

I "posted" a few days ago and hit the wrong button! Needless to say, all was gone! It took a few days to want to try again; I do not know what I hit! LOL!

Glad all is well. I must have missed something, Val! I was surprised at Sea World. Sounds like your walking has really improved significantly. And less pain! You must be on a healing roll! I love your posts on your blanket! Sounds like working from home could be nice. You are not the only one who wishes your work ethics would rub off on co-workers! My daughter is the same way. It is hard, and hard not to compromise one's self. You have such a gift for what you offer, however!

Roger, I am really impressed you walked your bit, even without it being recorded! That is true lifestyle change! Of course I expected no less! Your fruit buying habits have instilled in me the need to eat fruit more!! We are having a great grape run, they are sweet and I love eating them! I also like the variety of apples and citrus and enjoy switching them around. On my Thursday morning group at Panera, I have enjoyed my really large decaf coffee, a bottle of water, and a cup of mixed fresh fruit. So far I have avoided the pastries, which are usually between 350- 600 calories! Yikes! Sometimes I cannot understand how they can pack such a huge amount of things into something that really should not have so much of those things. Some of the portions are not even that large, it seems!

My daughter in law is doing well physically and emotionally after her double mastectomy. I am so thankful. She has such a sense of humor. She is cracking up that she will be more endowed after the reconstruction, a fact my son finds hilarious too. We just do not want her to fall over...This has been a hard time, and they are just upbeat and strong.

Our "fearless leader" at the Panera mornings, had to go to the hospital for right-sided weakness instead of meeting us. It turns out she had a brain bleed. They found a tumor and she has had it removed. It is a stage 4 glioblastoma, which are a highly aggressive cancer, so she will need rehab for weakness on her right side, oral chemo, and radiation daily for 6 weeks. I guess I am unloading a bit, as she is one of the dearest, sweetest people I have ever met. If it is your vein, I would love prayers for her. This is going to be some hard times.

Keep up the good work, All! Stay safe! :)

    Hi Jan
I have lost posts when I hit the preview button, saw it looked OK and closed the page :(

I think they deliberately add lots of sugar and corn syrup to the pastries as They know People love sweet, Also that is the same reason many foods are high in sodium. If You stop eating them things taste bland so they have created what is in effect an form of addiction, just one that is tied to taste.

You are having a spate of happenings in Your life so be strong.

Good Luck with Your Daughter In Law and Panera "Leader", I would be happy to pray for both of them.

Hi Jan! Good to hear from you. Will kerp your family in my thoughts and prayers. Seeing the humor in things is a beneficial perspective.
It does seem my hip has taken a good turn in its healing. One Aleve and I'm relatively comfortable for 4.5 miles. I didn't make it to the zoo today...nightmares kept me up and i was tired and unsettled by morning. So we changed plans to a relaxing day at home working on a jigsaw puzzle.
I have not yet resumed my regular neighborhood walks.

    Hi
7K steps and one cent today :)
The weather was nice and cool when I left the house. My first stop of the day was to connect the three drip hoses and turn on the water for most of the garden. My brother will water the rest of it that do not have any hoses to it later today. That would be some of the raised beds and potted plants. We currently feed three drip hoses off of the one spigot through the use of Y fittings, The second Y being fed off of the first Y giving three available connections.

Forecast temperatures up to 90 for today, sort of hard to believe as it was 66 when I left the house at 6:30AM, OTOH the sky only has a few scattered thin clouds to stop the solar heating.
Yesterdays possible Thunderstorms never happened, Chance of them for today and tomorrow however.

    Have a Nice Sunday

    Hi Val
    That is good news.

I wonder what triggered the Nightmares? I never know what trigger mine :)

I used to love working Jigsaw Puzzles at the Grandparents, especially the Tuco Brand that had nice think pieces. Information below.....

Tuco Picture Puzzles are jigsaws made by the American company Tuco.

    History & Description

Tuco was an American manufacturer based in Lockport, New York, that produced picture (jigsaw) puzzles from late 1932 through to the early-1980s.

Tuco was a subsidiary of The Upson Company which originally produced 3/16” wallboard for home construction. During the Depression when the home construction industry plummeted, The Upson Co. came up with the idea of producing cheap picture puzzles using the unused pieces of wallboard.

The newly formed Tuco brand sold its puzzles for 69 cents at a time when its competitors were selling their products for over $3. Tuco’s extra thick picture puzzles proved extremely popular and by 1933 the company was shipping over 50,000 puzzles every day. It is said that the company survived the Depression period by cutting and marketing picture puzzles.

Tuco produced their first picture puzzle in 1932 but, according the Anne D. Williams, author of Jigsaw Puzzles: An Illustrated History & Price Guide, the brand disappeared in 1983.

I hope You Had a relaxing Day
