It turned out to be a nice day. When I got up this morning it was raining.
The remodel of my store started this week. It is estimated to take 12 weeks to complete.
I got my 30 year pin at work today and a booklet from which I can choose a reward. I started working at Shaws as a part time overnight job when my kids were small, so I could be home with them durning the day. They offered me full time after 2 months in.
Roger-congrats on finding 5 cents. I haven't found any money for a while now.

Hi Irene
It has been somewhat chilly outside while walking until I get going and then I warm up enough to be comfortable.
I have not seen any Deer lately while walking although every now and then running across the road in front of me.IreneMurman wrote: »good morning , started to walk with George and Annie at 3am we walk for about 1hour and 15 minutes so I already have in 8598 steps in. Hi Irene and Vix.
Hi Joanne
is the store staying open during the remodel?
Stay Dry
Congratulations on 30 years. I hope You get a nice reward from the selection.

Good afternoon;
Roger-yes the store is staying open. They are doing one section at a time and I am sure they will be working overnights when they have to do anything major, right now they are just moving shelving around.
Irene-you are doing good with your weight loss and walking.
I didn't see anything in the reward catalogue that I wanted, so I let hubby pick out something. He opted for a leather jacket that he can wear when he drives his MG.
I went to the Dr. today for my annual physical. Everything was good, pending blood work. My BP was a little high and the Dr. told me to cut down on salt and I have to go back in 2 weeks for a follow-up. I don't salt anything, but going out to eat, the food is usually salty.
Have a good evening.

good morning, Already got an 11/2 hour walk Annie and I will go out again later. I got in 10 k steps in. I also lost 4 pounds this week so things are going very well for me. George is going to take Tuesday off so we will have a nice long weekend nothing planned I will mow the yawn so it will be done. Yesterday I got my basement pretty much done just about everything is put in there place those cabinets are so nice. Jo that was nice that you could find something for the hubby.0

I had a suspicion they might do something like that with the store.
I agree that Irene is doing good too.
A leather jacket does not sound as if they loaded up the selection with cheap junk.
My Brother never uses salt except if a recipe for some baking calls for it. OTOH as You say Going out to eat and Chinese Take Out the food is usually salted or in the case of Chinese the Soy sauce used making things salty.
Good news about the Physical. I'm sure the Blood work will be satisfactory too.
With the rise in Gas prices I am glad I filled up the car recently.
Have a Nice upcoming Holiday

Wowsers 4 Pounds !
Interesting about the Amazon Email. Good Luck with them.
If I said I have no plans for the Holiday Weekend unless I break down and have a taste of Fast Food.
I love French Fries and Bacon CheeseBurgers. And it happens that Wendy's has both available
They sell a Value size French Fries for $0.99 and their Baconator is Burgers with Cheese and plenty of Bacon.
It is nice to finish something like Your Basement.
Enjoy the long weekend

Good afternoon;
Irene- congratulations on losing 4 lb. this week.
Vix-I am sorry to hear about your MIL.
Roger-Just the name Baconator sounds like it is loaded with calories, but I bet it tastes good.
I got a call from the Dr. office today, all blood test came back good with the exception of high potassium. I am to have another blood test at my 2 week follow-up. I have heard of low potassium, but not high. I will have to google and see what causes it.
I don't have any plans for the weekend and after tomorrow I am on vacation.
Enjoy the rest of the day.0 -

And yet more humor is now posted
Hi
I did some walking once again + 9 pennies, The pennies were all found one by one in a short stretch of sidewalk except for the last one.
The temperature this morning was 54 on the news channel and 53 degrees on the front porch and back yard. It was Comfortable walking as I had put on a Long Sleeve shirt after seeing the temperature outside.
Currently it is a chilly, gloomy looking day outside. OTOH I did not have any problems with the sun in my eyes while waking
Our forecast is for rain later this afternoon into Sunday Morning
Here is a picture of one of the Dahlias planted out front. It got broken off when we were deadheading the Rose Bush behind it and removing the dead blooms from it. I put the ruler along side of it to give a idea of the size. It is a pretty Thing too.

Hi Vix
To quote from the Wizard of Oz, There is no place like home.
So many foods I used to eat now taste so salty to me.
I'm sorry to hear hear that regarding Your MIL. Your SIL must be an amazing person to cope with it. I have been fortunate not to have to handle that problem in people in the past.
Good LuckGood morning.

Enjoy Your upcoming trip, You do keep on the go

Hi Joanne
Funny You mention that
Baconator®
This one goes out to all the discerning carnivores. Thick-cut Applewood Smoked Bacon, two 1/4 lb* patties and even more bacon for a grand total of six (6) fresh-cooked, never microwaved strips. Topped off with mayo, ketchup and cheese on a premium toasted bun to hold the meaty masterpiece together.
*Approximate weight before cooking
950 cal
I did find this which explains the repeat blood test.
http://www.mayoclinic.org/symptoms/hyperkalemia/basics/causes/sym-20050776
Often, a report of high blood potassium isn't true hyperkalemia. Instead, it may be caused by the rupture of blood cells in the blood sample during or shortly after the blood draw. The ruptured cells leak their potassium into the sample. This falsely raises the amount of potassium in the blood sample, even though the potassium level in your body is actually normal. When this is suspected, a repeat blood sample is done.
Please keep us informed.
Enjoy the Holiday and The vacation even if it i only a Stay at home vacation

When I was able to start walking It helped my weight loss too.
Are You using the NS protein shakes ? I preferred the Old now discontinued ones and was sad to see them go, especially the coffee flavored one. I have found substitutes for their other flavors but not that one.
Keep up the Good Work

Hi Irene
They do Say to Add Ice, I never do, I just use Ice Water. Why no Ice? No room in the Freezer Section, We tend to keep it filled up and since we never used the ice maker in the old refrigerator when it died we did not spend the money on one with a ice maker.
I have been using ready to drink Protein Shakes from CostCo and I ordered a few powdered ones Via Amazon that I use water with rather than the Skim milk the mention to use. I find that I like them better once I started adding a packet of Truvia Sweetener.
The Local Chinese Take Out has nice Vegetable or Vegetable with Protein dishes. I just get the Sauce on the side and Palm the Rice off on my Brother as Too much Carbs make me sweat.
Congratulations on getting out and walking.

Hi Vix
Hi Joanne0 -
good morning, went for a walk got my steps in early I already have in 10 k . My weight is coming off nicely so far I have lost 14 pounds which I am pretty happy about. We don't have anything really planned for today maybe go for a ride and a cook out later. Roger I have an ice machine so it makes it a lot easier. well take care all0

Good afternoon;
My daughter and I went to Rhode Island this morning and walked the Cliff Walk. The route is the ocean on one side and mansions on the other. It was a beautiful day, sunny with a nice breeze. We walked 6.4 miles.
Irene-congrats on your weight loss, you are doing great.
Roger-I don't have an ice maker either. The refrigerator we had with an ice maker was always breaking. So now I just have a few plastic ice cube trays. They are sufficient for our needs. I watched the video and still don't know what the 2 guys found underground?
Hi Vix.0 -
Hi all.
Had a kind of stressful day. There are fires in California, one not far from where we'll be staying. And trying to help my SIL with my MIL from long distance...lots of phone time today, and I was looking up a lot of information on dementia. It's really sad and scary.
Anyway, feeling kind of exhausted.
Thanks for all the jokes, Roger.
Irene, you're doing great with the weight loss....congrats!
Jo, it's so nice that you and your daughter spend time together and go for all those great hikes.
Have a good night, everyone.0
