The vet visit was just a routine check-up. All Vinny's blood work came back good and his diabetes it under control. We are still waiting for Sophie's blood work to come back. It has to be sent out to a lab and takes a little longer for the results.
Irene-I hope you were able to get your hair highlighted. I am glad Annie is on the mend.
Hi Vix.
I am off to work in a little while.
Enjoy your day and stay cool.
I had not realized it was that long either, I still believe that the old NS run forum was more helpful and informative. All the Recipes and helpful users
Good News with Vinny's results.
Good Luck With Sophie's blood work

Hi Vix
It was a nice morning out, I do agree with Irene however that today will be somewhat hot and thus damaging to the electric bill. When I looked at the Living Room Thermometer yesterday at 6:45PM it was showing 80 degrees, I had been in the basement where it was cooler so I was somewhat surprised by that. I instantly turned on the AC in the wall. Yesterday morning I turned off the heat due to the forecast for the next few days at a minimum. I am wondering if I will turn it back on before fall due to the 10 day forecast I saw yesterday
Enjoy the Day

Hi Irene
My brother plans to run the Rototiller today in the back yard garden beds, Hopefully he gets starter before the heat of the day as I will out there helping too.
I am waiting to see if the small Corm-lets off of the Gladiolus that I planted in starter trays sprout. If so and with any luck they can be planted to grow to flowering size for planting next year.
I'm sure Annie appreciates the effort.
Congratulations on getting Your hair done, I need to get out and have mine cut.
Cheers

Hi Irene
We seem to end up mowing once a week all summer long unless we have a drought that makes the lawn go dormant. No plants have been bought yet, I know my brother however and he will be buying flowers for the front yard and Vegetables for the back yard.
Stay Cool, I was just out at 1PM to go to the bank, It is hot out there

Hi Irene
It was not great out there walking today, I suspect the humidity is higher today
When I walked into the Living Room it was 79 degrees in there at 5AM so on my return home I turned on the Wall AC to get things cooled off for the day. That will also help cool the rest of the Ground Floor as the cold air slowly works it's way around.

I have now posted more humor FWIW
Hi
I'm back from walking and as I was walking across the parking lot to pick up my refill of coffee I found a penny, then leaving I found a second penny in their driveway, then crossing the street I spotted the third penny so I ended up with a grand total of 3 cents. The temperature this morning was 63 degrees. The walking was really nice today, There is a 70% chance of rain for today and the sky does have that appearance.
I hope our rain holds off as my brother mentioned yesterday that the mower smelled hot when he mowed so I hope I can get the shroud off and check to see if mice built a nest in the area over the cooling fins blocking the air flow as has happened in the past. Depends on the rain holding off.

I have seen sheering and wool being spun on TV, Never in person OTOH, That sounds like it will be a interesting day.
Congratulations to her, That can be tough according to what I have heard.

Good morning;
Yesterday, was a beautiful day. The weather here is supposed to be in the 70's for most of the week. I am loving this weather.
We had a tree taken down out front. After the winter we had last year and all the downed trees we didn't want to take any chances. If the tree fell it would have ripped all the power lines off the house.
Vix-Congrats to your son's girlfriend for passing the bar. I hope you win an award for your painting.
Roger-I have not turned on the AC yet. There has been a nice breeze at night, just right for sleeping.
Irene-Good luck with the Grubex. $600. is a lot of money for no guarantee.
This morning I am doing house work and then running errands. I want to pick up a few replacements plants for the ones that didn't survive.
Have a great Sunday!0 -
Good morning.
It's been rainy here. Rained most of yesterday, and supposed to be the same today. We did our monthly run to Wegman's yesterday, and stopped at Lowes to replace a rose bush that didn't make it. Then I planted some coleus outside. Need to thin out my indoor plants!
Hopefully will make it to the sheep and wool festival today.
Supposed to be in the 70s here this week too. We haven't turned our AC on yet either. We have really good insulation in our house.
Happy Sunday.0 -
Good morning it sure is a lot cooler here today looks like it is going to rain which is fine with me on Friday I put lime down so a good rain would be awesome this week I need to reseed the back yard and put lime . I also have plants that need to be planted . Vix awesome news about your Sons girlfriend. Hey Jo , Roger good going on finding 3 cents0

Hi Joanne
We were lucky that the tree people hired by the town following all the storm damage cleaned up the tree branches that were over the power & cable lines to the house as part of the towns cleanup. The trees we would like to have gone can not be done as they are in other peoples yards and those people can not have them done as they are town trees and You have to get the towns OK to even trim them. They only remove diseased trees
I felt the need to run the AC for three days last week when the living room hit 80 degrees.
We were out to the nearby Home Depot yesterday and picked up mulch, Lime, Fertilizer and Some Raised bed soil to bring the raised beds level up some more. We looked at flowers and such and decided later
It is handy with the F150 pickup truck that we can get a lot more in one trip than when the purchases had to go in the back seat or trunk.
Good Luck with the plants.

Hi Vix
You had no luck with the rain, we never saw any and so far the spotty showers have not appeared. My brother was wondering if we wanted to get a Rose Bush, I said no, the two we put in are not looking that good.
Coleus is a easy plant to use. If I had house plants to thin out and they had roots I would put them outside too, Waste not, Want Not
This house is from the 50s and the walls have no insulation, if I had not put some in the attic to replace the thin original insulation it would be even worse than it is. If I were to hit the Lottery I think I would have everything insulated with a Spray Foam insulation.
Good Luck getting to the Festival

Hi Irene
It was some cooler today when I went out the door, nice for walking too.
If it rained my brother would be happy since he went out back yesterday and spread the new fertilizer all over the gardens beds.
No plants yet, All that needed planting were last years Dahlias and Gladiolus, I am still waiting for the cormlets I planted to sprout, hopefully they are viable. FWIW
https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/bulbs/gladiola/propagating-gladiolus.htm
Apr 4, 2018 ... Dig up each corm and remove the small cormlets from the bottom. Store them over the winter and plant them in the spring. The cormlets will grow into a plant, but won't produce a flower this first year. Dig them up for storage at the end of the season, then replant them again the next year to produce flowers.
Thank You for saying So
