    Good morning.
Our party yesterday was really nice. My experiment with felafels and tahini sauce was yummy. The food was all delicious, the presents were fun, and it was most wonderful to be with family. I am achy from eating sweets, and my scale really yelled at me this morning, but sometimes you just gotta enjoy some goodies.
It's currently 48F, partly cloudy this morning. Increasing clouds with periods of showers this afternoon. High around 65F. Winds SW at 15 to 25 mph.
I put in a load of laundry and will keep busy around the house today. Will probably take some time to relax and read. I got "State of Terror" by Louise Penny and Hillary Clinton out of the library. Louise Penny is one of my favorite fiction authors. It will be interesting to see how they wrote a novel together.
Another new week. Just one more celebration coming up for me. Wishing everyone a happy week. 🌞

Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday! It's a chilly 1 (34 F) partly cloudy degree with an expected high of 13 (55 F) under partly cloudy skies and 8% chance of precipitation.

I got all the laundry folded yesterday, but still have sheets to wash. I'll get to that eventually.

I am seasoning a tiny new cast iron skillet today so the kitchen should be warm all day. I intend to give it three or four coats, as I usually do with new cast ironware.

    Good morning.
    Thanks, Jo! 46 years!
We went to see some friends last night. Sat around a fire outside for a while (until it started to rain). It was so nice to see them. It's been so long.
It's currently 30F, totally overcast at the moment, but a mix of sun and clouds expected for the day. High around 40F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph. It was in the 60s yesterday. Nice and warm.
    Happy Tuesday, everyone. :)

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday!

We have 6 (42 F) cloudy, damp degrees with an expected high of 14 (57 F) under cloudy skies and 96% chance of precipitation.

We have a meeting today with the other Atlanta area team member, to discuss design and implementation of a software product that is being mostly done over from the ground up. I give input to design because the programmers aren't always that great at staying consistent, or user friendly, in the final user interface. Especially when the project is split into chunks with different people coding different parts.

I expect lunch will be included.

Good luck wth your new project, Ed. Design is really important.
It's currently 32F, cloudy with snow showers mainly during the morning. High 41F. Winds light and variable. Chance of snow 50%. No snow yet.
I need to go to the library today to pick up some books. Will see what else the day brings.
    Happy Wednesday, everyone. ⛄❄

I swear they keep a pile of tiny rocks at the dried bean bagging facility just so they can make sure that ONE TINY ROCK is in each bag, for the consumer to find when "sorting" the beans.

Zoom in and look above the empty bag, somewhat right of center, to find my rock from this bag.

Oh, and I will be making chili tomorrow (Thursday) to eat for a few days. LOL.

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday! 1 (34 F) chilly , partly cloudy degree with an expected high of 14 (56 F) under partly cloudy skies and 4% chance of rain.

I need to get out at some point for cat food and maybe a few groceries. Well, back to work!

Ed, I don't usually find rocks in mine. Maybe once or twice, but I don't usually use bags of mixed beans, probably easier to hide in those! Your advent calendar combos continue to look interesting.
We made some chicken and pasta in the instant pot last night. Different, it had a peanut butter creamy sauce. It was supposed to be almond butter, but we didn't have any. Pretty good anyway!
It's currently 30F, partly cloudy this morning, then becoming cloudy during the afternoon. High 41F. Winds light and variable. We didn't get any snow yesterday.
Our housecleaner is coming today. That'll be nice.
    Happy Thursday, everyone. :)

Howdy all y'all. It's fantastic foggy Friday! We have 7 (45 F) foggy degrees out there with an expected high of 15 (59 F) under overcast skies and a 49% chance of precipitation. It's a little drippy out there now, actually.

My chili turned out great, and should feed me through a lot of the weekend. My mother in law had cataract surgery yesterday, and J hasn't said there were any problems so I am taking that as no news is good news. J went up Wednesday night and should be home late Sunday, possibly with my mother in law if she can be convinced to come and get away from it all for a week.

It would be good to see her. She hasn't been here in a long time. But I don't think she will come. J may head back up there to spend Christmas with the family.

    Good morning.
That's sweet of J to visit for Mom's surgery. Glad you have your pets for company. Are you going home for Christmas too?
Currently 38F,cloudy skies. High 51F. Winds light and variable.
I have a PT appt later this morning. And I have to get my diet back on track, the scale is creeping up ominously.
I finished "State of Terror". It was one of those books you don't want to put down, riveting. I started "Under the Whispering Door" by TJ Klune last night. Not sure if I've read any of his before.
And here we are, sliding into weekend again.
Happy Friday, everyone. Happy Weekend! 🌞🤸‍♀️

Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday! We have 14 (58 F) cloudy degrees and a dense fog advisory. I noticed the fog last night when I brought in the mail. The expected high is 21 (69 F) under cloudy skies with 100% chance of rain. It sounds like a great day to stay indoors and maybe nap.

Nothing critical on the home front today.

    Good morning.
How are you enjoying your hard seltzer cheese combos, Ed? I've never had hard seltzer, but sounds good, and I've never had red leicester cheese.
We steamed salmon in our instant pot last night. It was good and didn't smell up the kitchen, which is what I was hoping for. We usually grill fish outdoors because of the odors! Saves hubby from going out in the cold, or bad weather.
It should be a nice quiet day, other than the expected wind and weather late this afternoon into the night. We are planning to babysit tonight for a couple of hours.
Warmer today, it's currently 52F, cloudy with occasional rain during the afternoon. Thunder possible. High 68F. Winds SSW at 15 to 25 mph.
Happy Saturday, everyone. Happy Weekend. 🤸‍♀️🍷

    Good morning;
What I busy week I had. My manager was out of work because one of his kids got Covoid. The assistant was on vacation, the girl in charge of cut fruit was also out because her husband tested positive, one of the other girls called out with a bad back. It was a hectic week, but everyone pitched in and we survived. I am going to enjoy the next 2 days relaxing.
We had a lot of rain and wind yesterday and last night.
Ed-I have never had hard seltzers. I don't usually like carbonated beverages, but your cheeses look good.
Vix-I hope you had fun babysitting last night. I got a coupon in the mail from hellofresh for 14 free meals including shipping. I am going to look into it and see if it is affordable. We seem to eat the same things, so maybe this will give us a chance to try something new.
    HI Irene.
Have a great day and week. :)

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday! We have a sunny, but chilly, 1 (34 F) degree with an expected sunny high of 13 (57 F) and 2% chance of precipitation.

I would love to get out for a few things, but seem to have developed a sinus thing. It may just be the dry air, but could also be a virus or bacterial infection. It's not really too bad, but there are some things I prefer to keep to myself rather than sharing. I am keeping a closer eye on my blood glucose, as it tends to run high when I am not feeling well, and staying hydrated. I still have some chili left, and a couple of hot dogs. There is actually plenty of food in the house, and I can always order grocery, or meal, delivery if I need more.

J should be home late tonight anyway.

The seltzer is not sweet at all really, though there is a small amount of sugar in there, and the fruit flavors are somewhat subdued. They are a rather refreshing, light drink, and I am enjoying them. I may look for another change to the beverage calendar next year, or may choose this one again.

This cheese calendar is the best I have had, and I will look for it again. Red Leceister is a very strongly flavored cheese made in a similar manner to Cheddar cheese, and the taste reflects that. J likes some Cheddars but found the Red Leceister too strong. I love it. I am hoping to find larger blocks of cheese from this cheese company, in the specialty cheese sections at the grocery stores.

    Good morning.
Ed, the flavored cheese sounds yummy. I had a strawberry Bubly last night which is just flavored seltzer. It was light and refreshing too, maybe like your hard seltzer without the alcohol kick. I hope you feel better soon. Good that J will be home soon.
Jo, so glad you're getting a couple of days off after a hectic week. Be very careful around your co-workers, the new variant is supposed to be extremely contageous. Good that you're vaccinated, but I've read there are more breakthrough cases, and even a mild case has effects. We've looked up a lot of recipes for our instant pot, because we are getting variety in our meals that way. We tend to eat the same things all the time too. We had fun babysitting. The grandchildren are so sweet. <3
Irene, Jan, and Val, hi and hope all is going well. I hope the storms aren't hitting you.
It was really windy last night, with a little bit of rain. It's currently 36F , abundant sunshine expected today. High 47F (about 20 degrees cooler than yesterday!). Winds WNW at 10 to 15 mph.
Will do some laundry today and see what else the day brings.
    Happy Sunday, everyone. 🌞

Howdy all y'all. It's marvelous Monday! We currently have 0 (32 F) clear degrees with an expected high of 16 (61 F) under sunny skies and 2% chance of precipitation.

I woke up with a headache but ibuprofen seems to have at least knocked it back somewhat. I would like to believe that my throat feels a bit better today but my croaky voice will probably make my co-workers disbelieve that in this morning's conference call.

But I will continue to hydrate. This dry winter air is rough on me.

You realize of course that if you REALLY got what was sung about each day for the 12 days of Christmas that you would have

12 partridges (possibly all in the same tree, but maybe 12 trees as well)
    22 turtle doves
    30 French hens
    36 calling birds
    40 gold(en) rings
    42 geese a laying
42 swans a swimming (hope they get along with the geese)
    40 maids a milking
    36 ladies dancing
    30 lords a leaping
    22 pipers piping
    and 12 drummers drumming.

And...the swans need something to swim IN, and the maids need cows to milk...or goats I suppose.

    Hi Irene
I made greek style lamb shanks for dinner last night. It was yummy!
Sophie's cat food arrived yesterday. We have been ordering it on line as the stores don't seem to have much on the shelves. It is almost like the toilet paper shortage at the beginning of the pandemic. :#
    Have a great day! :)

Nothing critical on the home front. My mother in law goes Thursday to discuss the surgery on her other eye (cataracts) and I am sure J will be up there to support her when that surgery happens too, though I am not sure it will happen this calendar year.

Ed, looks like another yummy advent treat. And seems that Buttons has gotten comfortable. Yay!
Jo, Greek style lamb shanks sounds delicious. I also found it's easier to order some things online (like Sophie's food). I've been ordering organic coffee online during the pandemic, so much easier than searching the stores for a good brand.
The car service was able to fix my tire, I had a screw in it. This has happened before, don't know where I'm running over screws! Anyway, I haven't been driving much and hadn't had an oil change in 20 months, so it was good to do that too! Time flies!
Hi Irene, hope all is well.
Looks like it's going to be a beautiful Autumn day. It's currently 41F, sunny. High near 55F. Winds light and variable.
I have a zoom appt with my dietician at 10. Guess I'll explain why I've gained a few pounds. 😏

It's currently 38F, generally cloudy. High 56F. Winds SE at 5 to 10 mph.
I did some babysitting yesterday, fun. Threw in a load of wash this morning, and I'll stop by the library today for some more books. Currently reading Liane Moriarty's new book, "Apples Never Fall".
    Happy Wednesday, everyone. 🐪
