    Good morning;
Vix-nice photo. Mango sangria sounds good. No,I didn't find a rug yet, but did get a start on my Christmas shopping.
Ed-were you able to fill all the circles?
    Hi Irene and Jan.
It is raining right now. I hope it stops soon. We bought tickets to the DeCordova sculpture Park.
    Have a great day! :)

Well, following their instructions definitely got the blood flowing. It was a task to get it to stop then, long enough to quickly get the little adhesive bandage stuck on it. Must remember that a good shake of the hands, and standing to keep them below the heart, REALLY gets the blood flowing to the fingers.

I got all their silly circles filled and now have to let it dry for 30 minutes, and then package it up and send it back.

    Good morning.
Ed, I didn't even know they had home A1c tests. I've only had it tested when I get other lab work done and they take tubes of blood. Knock wood, I haven't had a problem with it. Nice red blood, Ed! :smirk:
I checked into going up in a balloon...they're pretty expensive. I probably could have gone in Albuquerque at the festival, but was just in awe of seeing all the balloons in the field and taking off into the sky (and hubby doesn't really like heights). Hope your leg feels better.
Jo, it was fun getting out. The winery had the bottles of sangria chilled and it was good. I like sweet wine. We also picked up a bottle of their special limited Maryland flag balloon wine. ;) The weather was beautiful, and we had a picnic table to ourselves while waiting for the balloon. It wasn't crowded at all, and they had a man and his wife playing guitar, banjo and singing. It's the first we've really been "out" since March. We're going apple picking on Saturday with the family...that should be fun too and I'm really looking forward to it.
Good for you for starting on the Christmas shopping! Have fun at the Sculpture Park.
    Hi Irene and Jan.
    Have a good day, everyone.

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday! It should be a partly cloudy, warm day here. I don't think I have anywhere I have to be.

    Good morning.
Popped out to Sr hour at TJ Maxx, picked up some natural soaps and organic vanilla extract. Stopped off at the P.O. to mail a bill. Not much else going on here.
It's very foggy out this morning....could only see about 40-50 feet in front of the car, put my fog lights on and drove carefully...it's not that far.
Supposed to clear up and go up to 74 degrees today.
Hi Irene, glad you are enjoying the Autumn.
    Hi Jo and Jan.
    Stay healthy, everyone.

Howdy all y'all. It's fantastic Friday! It's very sticky out there at the moment, with 100% humidity, but should become more pleasant later and we are expecting a warm, partly cloudy day.

We had our first actual delivery of groceries yesterday. I had just recently gone to the store and J wanted something badly enough to put together an order of items via Amazon Fresh. This order was placed on Wednesday, and we COULD have requested delivery late Wednesday evening, but J chose Thursday morning, between 10:00 and 12:00 noon. At about 10:30 I saw the delivery on the camera, and brought it in. There was a bit of junk food, but I suppose J balanced that with the shredded wheat cereal and the Del Monte cherry fruit cups, packed in 100% fruit juice.

The Reese's cups were an item I would have left out, unless SPECIFICALLY requested, on any of my trips, and are part of why I am usually the one in charge of the groceries. J has a tendency to toss in more junk food, apparently even on line!

To be fair, I have been working my way through a box of pumpkin Pop Tarts, a seasonal treat that I can't resist. And of course Kroger puts it right in your face in a separate display that is in the way, so you can't miss them.

I do think there is overkill with the pumpkin SPICE in the fall, but I do like real pumpkin. And of course I have no issues with pumpkin spice when there is actually pumpkin (or at least some kind of hard squash) in the treat.

I don't really care for the idea of pumpkin spice tossed in willy nilly, into things like frosted flakes, Cheerios, baked goods that don't contain pumpkin (just the spice) and am on the fence regarding pumpkin spice coffee.

Come to it, they also seem to go nuts tossing pumpkin into things where it seems a bit weird to me, like salsa.

Oh well, it IS a fall vegetable, and it's actually good for us, so I guess I shouldn't complain. All the same, I will limit my pumpkin intake and my pumpkin spice intake as well. Most of it is baked goodies I don't need to eat anyway. I am fond of a good, rich, pumpkin cake, and of course pumpkin pie. And I LOVE pumpkin (or butternut squash) bisque as a starter for a meal.

I guess I need to get started on my day. I had baked chicken for breakfast, along with one pumpkin Pop Tart. The other one from that foil pack will, no doubt, find its way into me later today.

    Good morning;
    It is foggy this morning.
    Vix-thank for the birthday wish.
I did some yard work yesterday, while hubby worked on his MG.
Grocery shopping and a few errands on the agenda today.
Ed-I like pumpkin pie but not pumpkin flavored foods.
    Have a good day. :)

    Good morning.
Extremely foggy again here this a.m. and a little drizzly...supposed to warm up to 76 today, and partly cloudy.
Ed, pumpkin poptarts sound like they might be too sweet...I haven't had a pop tart since my kids were little! I guess they're good for a treat.
I love pumpkin pie, and pumpkin bread, and pumpkin cheesecake. I look forward to it every year. I just found a recipe yesterday for pumpkin bars (made with a cream cheese layer) that I may try this year. I'm not good at making pumpkin pie, so I usually make the bread or cheesecake or buy a pie. I don't buy much processed food, although lately I've been getting into some of my husband's gluten free goodies, which I really shouldn't. Oh, well.
I have a massage appt this morning...so will have to drive in the fog again. I'll leave a few minutes early.
    Have a good Friday, everyone.

Howdy all y'all. It's sticky Saturday! Humidity is 100% right now, and while it will be a nice enough morning, the forecast is calling for evening showers.

Cable internet is down right now, so I'll be keeping an eye on that. I am using my phone as a mobile hotspot for a bit.

I may get some laundry started.

    Good morning,
Our cable's been up and down a lot lately, Ed. Thank goodness for wireless phones.
We're going apple picking with the family in a little while....forecast shows rain...oh well. We had to make reservations...may get a little wet. Fun anyway.
    Have a good day, everyone.

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday! We are expecting it to be partly cloudy and cool today. I need to take J's car out for a weekend run to keep it active. Might take mine for a longer run than it's been getting too.

Dinner/supper was yummy and I have three or four more nice meals coming from the pot roast.

And I might actually get the laundry into the washer today. Right now I hear my pot of tea gurgling so I think I need to get to making my breakfast.

    Good morning.
    Looks, delicious, Ed!
The rain held off, and we had a lot of fun picking apples and pumpkins yesterday. The apples are wonderful and crispy. Our grandson was just adorable picking apples, carrying the bag and getting in the wheel barrow with the pumpkins and pointing out more pumpkins he liked.
It's cold and rainy today. I ordered a little yellow raincoat for him which arrived this morning. I'm sure that's going to be cute as anything too.
Not much planned for today...my hip is really awful this week, so I'll probably take it easy today. Who'd a thought. My legs were always so strong and I could easily walk for miles.
Any how. I'll probably make some more soup today.
    Have a good Sunday, everyone.

Howdy all y'all. It's magnificent Monday! It should be a cool, cloudy day here. It's funny how, coming out of summer, a high of 70 seems cool, yet coming out of winter, a high of 70 would sound warm. Different seasons, different perspective.

I have some laundry that needs to be folded.

    Good morning.
Twas in the 40s and a little drizzly, but got on line and voted this a.m. Yay! That's done. First day of early voting here in MD. It was well organized and people followed the rules, so that was good. It's supposed to clear up and go up to 64 this afternoon. Haha, yes, Ed, after summer that feels cool.
I did make some more soup yesterday. It's yummy.
    No special plans for today.
    Have a good day, everyone.

    Good afternoon;
This is my last day of vacation, back to the grind tomorrow.
    Vix-We voted on Saturday.
I also sent our passport renewal applications in and forgot to enclose the payment. I called them this morning. The woman I spoke with said not to worry, I would be contacted when they receive them. She said it was a common occurrence.
    Ed-Your pot roast looks good.
    Have a good evening. :)

Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday! It's a bit warmer today, and there's a good chance of overnight rain. Marco's had a 50% off sale, one day only, yesterday, so I picked up pizza for our dinner.

They were celebrating the opening of their 1,000th store somewhere with the one day sale. I could have had it delivered, but accidentally ordered for pick up, which ended up saving time and money, as the restaurant isn't far and it was ready within 20 minutes of ordering. No delivery fee and no driver tip required! I did put a few dollars in the tip jar on the counter though.

The sign in the window said that the dining room was open for seating, but I didn't see anyone seated. There was another customer waiting for his order to be prepared for pick up, or maybe he was the delivery driver. I am not sure. Another customer drove up as I was leaving, and the manager was on the phone taking an order when I arrived, so I think the sale was popular!

So breakfast was, of course, leftover pizza and lunch will be the same, with perhaps a side salad.

I got the laundry all folded and put away yesterday, and may spend some time organizing the grocer list today to see if I have enough accumulated on it to place a pick up or delivery order. Nothing has reached critical level though, so there is no hurry.

    Good morning,
So great that you can eat pizza, Ed. I really miss it...once in a while have a cheat piece of gluten free, or make a tiny one on a gluten free bagel.
I'm going to pick up some more books from the library, avoiding the news of the world as much as I can for now.
    Have a good day, everyone.
