Good morning;
Currently 71F with a high of 83F and cloudy. I think we are done with rain for the next few days. Vix-I was exhausted yesterday also. I had a few cat naps while trying to read. The only thing I accomplished was doing the dishes. I just got home from work and not sure what I am doing for the rest of the day, maybe grocery shopping. Ed-I had pumpernickel toast for dinner. Irene-how has Sammie been doing with all the thunder storms? Have a good day!π

Howdy all y'all. It's sensational Saturday!
We have 23 (Celsius) partly cloudy degrees with an expected partly cloudy high of 33 and 15% chance of precipitation.
I used to love pumpernickel toast! And I'd always buy some for ham sandwiches if I baked a ham. But, can't eat pumpernickel now. Some of the gluten free breads have a decent taste and texture reminiscent of pumpernickel though, and I do enjoy those.
There is another pool party today! Beans are baking in the oven.
They disappeared so fast last time I made a slightly bigger batch this time, but there is a limit to how much the pan will hold safely!
My supper last night was pizza from the freezer. I had an Against the Grain pizza, grain free crust made of tapioca starch and mostly cheeses after the starch, with uncured pepperoni for the topping, aside from sauce and mozzarella of course.
Breakfast was the leftover pizza, and then I scurried to get the beans into the oven.
Sipping my tea now. Cats to be fed in about an hour.

Ed, so many pool parties! Best thing in this weather! π Irene, I'd never heard of bed jets, just looked it up. Are they noisy? It would be nice to have the temperature regulated all night. Glad Sammie is doing well. Jo, hope you're getting some relaxation time.

We had so much fun with our son's family yesterday. There was a little kid's party going on outside as advertisement for one of the day care centers, with someone blowing giant bubbles for the kids, some water slides, little fishing pool, etc. It was cute. We have 26 (Celsius) sunny degrees with an expected mostly sunny high of 34 and 11% chance of precipitation.
No laundry to fold, but grocery shopping is definitely on the agenda. I need to restock on beans if nothing else!
The pool party was great. Lots of old friends, and some new friends, as old friends will bring new people along sometimes. There were 75 people who showed up. Needless to say, the baked beans were clobbered. They came out really well this weekend too. After the party Jason and I stopped for sushi at a restaurant we like that is close to our home.
Breakfast was a sausage and cheese omelet (two eggs in it) with a Goodie Girl cinnamon breakfast bar. Pineapple was the juice of the day.
Cats will be wanting their breakfast soon. Actually, they'd like it NOW but they'll get it soon.

Vix they are nice you can either have ac or heat we have had them a couple of years now. We really like them we got the one that has 2 jets one on each side and I have my own remote but we got them to keep Sammie cool she sleeps totally under the covers

Ed, the parties sound like a lot of fun. We tend to hang out with just a few friends. Irene, your bed jets sound really nice. I get so hot, I could use an air conditioner in my bed! Jo, hope you're not working too hard, had time to enjoy the weekend.
We've been getting some rain every day. Everything is lush and green. It's 74F,23C, overcast. Cloudy this morning. Scattered thunderstorms developing this afternoon. High 87F, 31C. Winds light and variable. Chance of rain 50%. Locally heavy rainfall possible. (flood watch) I did some cleaning and laundry yesterday, took care of some things around the house. Ed, glad your back is feeling better. I slept with a pillow under my knees last night. Sometimes that helps. Jo, good luck with your room redo. Cream is nice, easy on the eyes. And it's nice to have an office space. Irene, it's nice when mother nature does the garden watering. I agree, lots of rain this year.

It is currently 86F. It was a hot one today. After work I ran a few errands and finished taping so I am now ready to paint. I will probably wait for a cooler day. Ed-good luck with your lab work. Ed, I hope your lab results are good. Jo, good for you for getting the taping done. That's exacting work. I would imagine the store would have insurance for that sort of thing. Irene, I hope you were not in the flood area. Some parts of NJ really got soaked.
It's 72F, 22C. Completely overcast again. Mostly cloudy skies this morning followed by thunderstorms during the afternoon. Storms may contain strong gusty winds. High 91F, 33C, too hot for me π₯΅. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 60%. Our flowers are beautiful, so many things are blooming now, so full and lush. The pink flocks smell delightful, the lilies and balloon flowers, roses, daisies, butterfly weed, rudbeckia, liatris, etc. Yesterday, I emptied the glaze kiln, some of the things didn't turn out well (a lot of our glazes are old and results vary), so I put a clear glaze over them, and am refiring, along with some newly glazed pieces. Last night's thunderstorm was a doozy. Lots of lightning close by, it was so loud! It's 73F, 23C. Sun and clouds mixed. A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible. High 94F, 34C. π₯΅ too hot for me! Winds WSW at 10 to 20 mph. We walked along the Creek in Frederick early yesterday afternoon. The water lilies are in full bloom and their walkway flowers are gorgeous too. We stopped at the Delaplane Art Center to cool off, and walked through the gallery. I didn't make it to the library yet this week so may do that today. Wishing all a pleasant Thursday. Update:
The dental cleaning went well, and was quick too! No apparent issues. I came home and ate too many pancakes, along with some bacon. Finishing off my coffee now.
Lunch will definitely be something light, and maybe a bit late.
Still a couple of hours until I am due at my work computer so I'll just doodle about on the internet. Maybe play a logic game.

Nothing critical on the agenda for today, at least that I'm aware of, but there is some laundry still in the dryer to fold.
For supper last night I just made mashed potatoes and had some bacon with my serving. But they were real mashed potatoes. I peeled and cubed up some russet potatoes, cooked in lightly salted water until tender, mashed, added butter and heavy cream and served. Delicious! Jason had the bulk of the potatoes, as I had bacon to eat with mine.
For breakfast, some cheesy grits. In the absence of shrimp (none in the house) I had sausage patties with them, and then a Goodie Girl brown sugar cinnamon gluten free breakfast bar, something like a cookie but very cake-like. It was a teensy bit dry and crumbly but that's not uncommon for gluten free bars. I like them. Pineapple juice to drink.
Sipping my late tea now, as the cats let me sleep in until 8:30 and I only got up then because I needed the bathroom. I'm sure the cats would not have let me sleep past their 9:30 feeding time.

Jo, good for you for getting your errands done and painting a room, that's a lot! Yum, fish and chips. Ed, I'm enjoying the fresh pineapple this time of year, plus other fruits and berries. They're especially refreshing for breakfast. Irene, lots of pool weather!

We went to the Whispering Winds Pow Wow yesterday. It was something different to do, much smaller than the last one I went to. They had it at the fairgrounds indoor arena, so much cooler than outdoors! There were lots of stands with people selling things, native food, and there was some native dancing. The costumes are very ornate. We're still getting the p.m. rains. There is another festival we may check out today. Will see what the day brings.
