Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday!
We have 27C mostly cloudy degrees with a forecast of cloudy skies early, followed by partial clearing. High 33C. Winds WNW at 15 to 25 km/h. 18% chance of precipitation.
Groceries on the agenda for today. Nothing else critical.
Supper yesterday was at Del Taco. I had a tostada thing, corn tortilla topped by refried beans, salsa, lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese. Fries for my side and a rare treat of a fountain drink.
Breakfast was maple brown sugar oatmeal, bacon, and a few chicken tenders with orange juice to drink.
The cats are waiting for their breakfast. As you can see, Ruby is even at the table!

good morning
Nice cat picture, Ed. Is that Ruby? Hope you had a nice anniversary yesterday. Hi Irene and Jo.
It's 73F, 23C. Partly cloudy. High 86F, 30C. Winds N at 5 to 10 mph. Yesterday, we went to a metaphysical fair at a local brewery we hadn't been to before. The fair was small, had some crystals, witch's bells, jewelry and other fun things for sale, and they had some people doing Reiki or other meditative/relaxation sessions, and some Tarot readers. We had a glass of cider at the brewery, it was good, actually from another local brewery. Then we went for our favorite walk along the Creek in Frederick. I did laundry, caught up with some bills, etc. Kept busy most of the day. Will see what today brings. Wishing all a bright shiny new week. Stay cool. ☁️⛅🌻🌟🤞🏻🕊️😎

Howdy all y'all. It's marvelous Monday!
Yes, that was Ruby laying in my chair at the table, waiting for me to prepare breakfast for the cats.
We have 26C sunny degrees. The forecast calls for mostly sunny early then increasing clouds with some scattered thunderstorms this afternoon. High 33C. Winds WNW at 15 to 25 km/h. Chance of rain 40%.
For supper last night I baked a couple of medium sized potatoes, then added butter, chili beans, and cheese as toppings. They were delicious and very filling.
I dropped my van off first thing this morning for an oil change and brakes. The Uber back home was surprisingly inexpensive at only $11.97. All the same, I gave the driver a $5.00 tip.
Breakfast, after the Uber ride, was some cold cereal and some bacon. Pineapple was the juice of the day.
Might get some laundry started today.
But work has already started!

Good afternoon;
It is currently 78F and sunny with a slight breeze. Ed-Happy Anniversary. Vix-You had a busy weekend. This morning I went to my daughter's house to let the dryer repair man in. After that I went to Ikea and picked up a small desk for the office. I still have to put it together, but that may not be until tomorrow. Have a good afternoon.😀

good morning
Ed, good to get the brakes fixed. I usually wait for my car if it's not going to take too long. Jo, how much fun, setting up a new office. The last time I set up an Ikea desk was with my daughter, fond memories. Hi Irene.
It's 64F, 18C, feels so nice! Lots of sunshine. High around 85F, 30C. Winds light and variable. We went for a walk in the park yesterday. There was a little breeze, but it was still too hot. I have stained glass and clay crafters today, so long, busy day. Wishing all a fine Tuesday, stay cool. 🌞🌻🤞🏻🕊️😎

Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday!
We have 24C sunny degrees with a forecast calling for sunshine and clouds mixed. A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible. High around 35C. Winds NNW at 10 to 15 km/hr and 20% chance of precipitation.
Supper last night was a big dinner salad. Mine had chopped boiled eggs and diced Spam, along with cheese, gluten free croutons, a small sprinkle of potato sticks, and my home made thousand islands style dressing.
Breakfast this morning was cheesy grits and sausage links.
Work beckons.

good morning
Ed, salads are always so good in the summer! Hi Irene and Jo.
It's 68F, 20C, opened the door next to me to get the morning air. A mix of clouds and sun. High 86F, 30C. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph. Yesterday, I cut and ground glass for a couple of suncatchers. I made a small bowl with an uneven top and a small vase with an uneven top on the potters wheel. 😂😂😂 I may be able to straighten them out when they dry a little, as long as they don't dry too much. Then I made a vase in a mold and pinched a small bowl. They forgot to run our kiln again, so hopefully that will be done before next week. We're going out with friends tonight for dinner and a wine tasting. Fun! Wishing all a happy 🐪 day. Stay cool. ⛅🌻🍷🕊️😎

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday!
We have 24C cloudy degrees with a forecast for a few showers early, then clouds lingering for the afternoon. High a little cooler at 31C. Winds E at 10 to 15 km/h. Chance of rain 30%.
I got my van back yesterday, with new brakes. Jason's car is in the shop for the air conditioner now. It's nice to have a small business auto shop so close to home that we can feel good about taking our vehicles to.
Thanks all, for the anniversary wishes. 10 years married, over 31 years together!
For supper last night I made nachos. Breakfast this morning was maple brown sugar oatmeal and some link sausages.
Work is already in progress, so back to it.

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday!
We have 23C sunny degrees. The forecast calls for sunshine and clouds mixed. A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible. High 32C. Winds E at 10 to 15 km/h. Chance of precipitation is 15%.
My endocrinologist visit went well, overall. My A1c was a bit higher so we decided it's finally time to move from Januvia tablets to injectable Mounjaro pens. I'll still be taking metformin, at least at first, but the hoped for outcome would be that I can work up to only taking a weekly injection for my diabetes, and no pills. I'd love that! So I hope the Mounjaro works for me and I tolerate it well. We'll be closely monitoring, of course. I will get started on the Mounjaro after a couple of days OFF the Januvia, to get all the Januvia out of my system.
Supper last night, for me, was Applegate gluten free chicken tenders and store brand gluten free waffles.
Breakfast was Greek yogurt with granola, and some sausage links. Orange was the juice of the day.
Work summons!

good morning
Ed, good that your car is back in tip top order, and Jason's air conditioning is getting fixed, need that in this weather. I was just remembering how cars didn't have air conditioning way back when.
It's 73F, 23C. Partly cloudy. High 91F, 33C, too hot for me. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph. Dinner out with friends last night was fun. I had Sunchoke Trumpet Pasta, with spring peas, black trumpet and pioppino mushrooms, pickled ramps, sunchoke sauce. Yum. Pete had Short Rib (8 oz) Creekstone Farm, KS with veal gravy, mashed yukon gold potatoes, butter glazed green beans. Followed up with a 'this or that wine tasting'. It was side by side cabernet sauvignon, pinot noir, and malbec, each from 2 different countries. Interesting. I think the cabernet from France was my favorite. I have my regularly scheduled massage appt this morning, and will see what else the day brings. Wishing all a pleasant Thursday. Stay cool. ⛅🌻🕊️😎

Good morning
It is currently 81F with a high of 88F and sunny. There is a slight breeze. Ed-It is good that your car is all fixed and that Jason's is getting fixed. Glad your Dr. visit went well. I hope the new meds work for you. My office is all finished. I am using an old desk chair that we had in the basement. It is a little worn, but will do the job for now and it is comfortable. Vix-your dinner sounds good, but I think Pete's sounds better. I am a meat and potato kind of gal. I will pass on the wine, it gives me heartburn. Have a good day and stay cool.😀

Ed, I hope the new medication works for you. It's supposed to really help with weight loss too. Yay! Good that you'll be closely monitored. Jo, congrats on getting your office finished! Hooray! I'm using an old chair too, while my daughter is using my office. I put a decorative pillow case on the seat! 😂 I like to try new things when I go out, and sometimes I just don't want meat or fish. Luckily the pasta was very light, and it was delicious. Irene, I'll bet you're enjoying the pool this week!
It's 74F, 23C. Sunny early then increasing clouds with some scattered thunderstorms this afternoon. Storms may contain strong gusty winds. High 96F, 36C. 🥵 Winds W at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 40%. We found a new park with a little woodland trail yesterday, a nice shady walk, and then went to Frederick and took another walk! 😂 I'll see what today brings. Wishing all an easy Friday. It's going to be a hot one! Stay cool.🌞⛅🌂🌻🕊️😎

Howdy all y'all. It's fabulous Friday!
We have 24C partly cloudy degrees with a forecast for clouds and some sun this morning with more clouds for this afternoon. A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible. High 33C. Winds light and variable. Chance of precipitation 24%.
We have a fairly busy weekend planned so I think I'll wait until Sunday night to start the injections, and will probably leave my weekly dose for that time period. That's when Jason does his Wegovy. Waiting until then will let me enjoy the pool party tomorrow and a dinner engagement Sunday night at Marlow's Tavern without worrying about initial effects.
I have laundry to fold so may work on that during breaks and lunch.
Supper last night was spaghetti for Jason, chicken tenders for me. The spaghetti was some of the last wheat spaghetti in the house. We both had some New York Texas Toast brand gluten free garlic cheese toast as a starter, with a little spaghetti sauce for dipping.
For breakfast I finished off the open bag of chicken tenders and warmed up a couple of gluten free waffles.
Work has already begun, I'm checking for updates to any of the software I'm currently testing.

Ed, good idea to take meds for first time when you're going to be home. Irene, lucky you to spend time in the pool. Jo, hope you're enjoying your new office.
It's 74F,23C. Partly cloudy with afternoon showers or thunderstorms. Storms may contain strong gusty winds. High 89F, 32C. Winds light and variable. Chance of rain 40%. We're getting rain storms almost every evening, so all our flora is lush. We walked on the woodland trail again yesterday, then did some shopping. I made cauliflower tofu curry last night. New recipe for me, it was good. Haven't planned anything yet for today. Will see what the day brings. Wishing all a fun weekend. Stay cool. 🌤️🌂🌻🕊️😎

Howdy all y'all. It's sensational Saturday!
We have 24C sunny degrees with the forecast calling for it to be mainly sunny to start, then a few afternoon clouds. Hot and humid. High 33C. Winds W at 10 to 15 km/h. Chance of precipitation s 24%.
Beans are in the oven for the pool party this afternoon.
Still laundry to fold, though I did get some of it folded yesterday.
Supper last night was Pizza Hut. I had pepperoni and Italian sausage on my gluten free crust, with sauce and cheese of course.
For breakfast, maple brown sugar oatmeal, bacon, and orange juice.
I need to finish my tea, my coffee, feed the cats, and get showered.

It's 78F, 26C. Cloudy skies early then heavy thunderstorms developing this afternoon. Storms may contain strong gusty winds. High 89F, 32C. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 80%. We went to Piney Run Park yesterday, haven't been there in a while and walked on a long wooded trail. It was too hot, even in the shade! We are getting together with family for brunch this morning, and will see how the rest of the day plays out. Wishing all a peaceful Sunday. ☁️🌂🌻🕊️😎Stay cool.

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday!
We have 26C sunny degrees. The forecast is for plentiful sunshine. Hot and humid. High near 35C. Winds NW at 10 to 15 km/h. %% chance of precipitation.
The pool party yesterday was nice, but not so many people. The hosts have some of my baked beans to enjoy in the next few days. It will be a while before another pool party as one of the hosts has some back surgery scheduled for next Wednesday, so it will be at least a month before another, maybe longer.
We picked up a friend on the way to the party and he wanted to stop at a new-is restaurant called Mahana Fresh, where the entire menu is gluten free! Jason and I declined to order anything on that visit, but our friend got his, presumably healthier lunch there rather than waiting to eat at the party. Jason and I intend to return at some point to try some of their food on a less hectic weekend.
I was able to sample TWO desserts at this pool party as one friend brought his gluten free peanut butter cookies and another brought brownies with cream cheese frosting. The brownies were Krusteaz gluten free brownie mix, to which he had added some walnuts. I may have to look for that brownie mix at the grocery.
Tonight we have a meetup at a Marlow's Tavern location. They have a lot of gluten free options and I look forward to it.
My supper last night was a small baked golden potato, and some bacon. Breakfast this morning was meatballs and some maple brown sugar oatmeal. Pineapple juice to drink.
Still laundry to fold. Grocery shopping is on the agenda today too.

Good morning;
It is currently 70F with a high of 78F, cloudy with an 80% of rain. I have been out weeding this morning while it was still cool. Vix-enjoy your brunch. Ed- It was nice that there were gluten free desserts that you could eat. It is a good idea to start your new meds when you will be home. Irene-I am glad you are getting to enjoy your pool. It is just starting to rain here. I have no plans for today, so will see what the day brings. Enjoy!😀

good morning
Ed, great day for a pool party! Great that you found a gluten free restaurant, and that you are finding places with lots of options. Jo, you are so good about getting out in the a.m. and getting things done. I like to have my coffee and relax when I get up. I used to go for a walk early, I should probably start doing that again! Irene, great pool days.
It's 73F,23C. Plentiful sunshine. Hot and humid. High 93F, 34C. 🥵 Winds light and variable. Brunch was fun with the family yesterday. I had a Tropical green smoothie, it was delicious. We went to a park and enjoyed the little ones playing on the swings, slides, and climbing toys. Then we stopped at our sons house for a while to cool off and continue the fun. It's going to be a hot one today, will see what the day brings. Wishing all a bright shiny new week. Stay cool. 🌞🌟🌻🕊️😎

Yesterday I did not get the rest of the laundry folded, but it was a very busy day. I got the grocery shopping done, then went with Jason to an English dance for several hours. I did not dance but enjoyed the music.
Then on to dinner at Marlowe's Tavern. The service was a bit frazzled, as the place was packed but we did OK. Jason had a veggie burger and fries, while I had the smoked trout dip with carrot and celery sticks. It was nice and light, which was exactly what I wanted prior to coming home to give myself my first weekly Mounjaro injection. Several of our friends thought it didn't look like much food, and in fact it wasn't all that much food but I had eaten a breakfast bar on the way to temper my appetite and it was just enough food.
So far no hideous side effects and I don't anticipate any.
Breakfast was a meat lover's breakfast bowl. Not Jimmy Dean, but Kroger brand, so a bit less expensive. I bought several to have available as quick, relatively light breakfasts while I'm adjusting to the new medicine.
Work beckons shortly. My mug of tea beckons now. And laundry beckons whenever.

Lunchtime update:
My stomach was rather unhappy a few hours after breakfast and I didn't really want lunch, but knew from Jason's experience with his injectable that this meant that I probably NEEDED to eat lunch, so I did. It was a small, frozen enchilada dinner that, on perusal, looked like a lot more food than I really wanted, even though it really wasn't much food. But I ate it and, for the moment, feel better.
I may have a cookie in mid-afternoon.
The laundry that was waiting to be folded is folded and put away, done during my lunch hour which I started a bit early because of the tummy feelings. And another small load is started in the washing machine.

Good evening;
It is currently 88F and sunny. We are under a heat advisory until Wed evening. Vix-Sounds like you had a great time with the family. Ed-I hope you don't have any major side effects with the new meds. Hi Irene.I stayed in most of the day, did laundry, read, made a quick to the grocery store to pick up a few things and puttered around the house. Enjoy your evening and stay cool.😀

good morning
Ed, I hope you're feeling better and acclimate to the new drug quickly. Irene, good that your sister isn't having side effects. It's supposed to be very helpful for diabetes and for your heart. Jo, we're under a heat advisory too. Are you reading something good? I picked up a Laura Lippman book after hearing her speak. It's one of the early ones, Tess Monaghan series, so far I'm seeing why I enjoyed them!
It's currently 69F,21C. I'm letting in the morning air! Lots of sunshine. Continued hot and humid. High 96F, 36C. 🥵🥵🥵 Winds light and variable. Yesterday, we went for a walk in the morning, it was 80F, so already hot. I'll get some exercise in this morning and have Clay crafters this afternoon. Wishing all a pleasant Tuesday. Stay cool. 🌞👩🏻🎨🌻🕊️😎

Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday!
We have 25C sunny degrees with a forecast calling for mostly sunny skies this morning. Scattered showers and thunderstorms developing during the afternoon. Continued hot and humid. High around 35C. Winds light and variable. Chance of rain 50%.
I hope we do get some rain, and hope it brings cooler temperatures!
There's no laundry to fold! That mini load is already folded and put away.
My supper last night was a few chicken tenders and a roll and it felt like a bit too much.
Breakfast this morning was a meat lovers breakfast bowl again. Pineapple juice to drink.
I'm trying to gradually add a few in-house exercises to my routine as well as the change to medication. It's been too hot to take walks outdoors and they are recommending people not get out except when totally necessary. I think the little bit of additional exercise is already helping.
But now work beckons, summons, calls, draws me.

Ed, I keep forgetting to mention about the humorous thread. Did you close that, or did MFP? I miss the comics, but I can be less lazy and look them up myself. 😂 Seems like the medication is doing it's job, decreasing your appetite.
It's 73F, 23C. Sunny to partly cloudy. A stray thunderstorm is possible. High 96F,36C. Winds light and variable. Clay was cancelled yesterday, so plans changed. Did some errands instead. Going for an early walk this morning, then housecleaner is coming. Will see what else the day brings. Wishing all a happy 🐪 day. Stay cool. 🌞🌻🕊️😎🌂

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday!
We have 23C mostly cloudy degrees with a forecast for the day calling for partly to mostly cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms developing this afternoon. High 32C. Winds light and variable. Chance of rain 50%. Rainfall may reach 25mm. For the night, scattered thunderstorms early, then mainly cloudy overnight with thunderstorms likely. Low 23C. Winds light and variable. Chance of rain 60%.
I hope we get some rain.
Vix, the last time I tried to post to the humorous thread it kept telling me the post would appear after approval. Approval by whom, I have no idea, as you and I are supposed to be the approvers for these two groups, or at least I thought so. I waited a day or two to try again and I could only guess that the posts were taking up too much space or something. My attempts had not been approved so I closed the thread to hopefully assuage the approval demons so they at least wouldn't delete the existing posts.
The Arctic Circle comic is at
, Calvin is at , Pickles is at , Shoe is at , and the Swamp cartoon is at . I have all those bookmarked to make it easy to find my daily funnies.Supper last night was taco salad. I made the honey mustard dressing and the refried beans for it.
Breakfast this morning was another heat and eat breakfast bowl and orange juice to drink.
My glucose levels have been mostly really good since starting the Mounjaro, but to be fair I'm eating a bit less food too. And while I know the "weight" loss so far, in just a few days, has likely been mostly retained water it's still encouraging to see a lower number on the scale.
My shoulders and upper arms are a bit sore, so I may give the quasi-pushups a rest for today. I don't try to do REAL pushups because the cats try to help and I collapse into a pile of giggles.
Work beckons.
