I've logged over 1,000 miles since I started tracking my mileage on 27 Feb 2016. Prior to that I was mostly doing intervals on the treadmill and elliptical. In the beginning, I wasn't running more than 3-5 miles at a time and my average pace was 10-11 minutes per mile.
In June I managed my first 10-mile run and that has been my "regular" distance since. I hit my best time a few weeks ago at 89 minutes and change. My biggest week was 70 miles; that was part of a 4 week run where I logged a total of 190 miles. My average pace is down to around 9.5 minutes per mile...this I would like to work on.
I'll run my first official half marathon in 16 days...7 -

1. Made it through FOUR separate Thanksgiving meals and lost around 2.5lbs for the week.
2. Instead of punching yet ANOTHER hole in my belt, I got a new one.

I had an NSV that is sort of actually scale related but a victory all the same...lol.
Went into the RediClinic for Strep test and the doctor thought the nurse had noted my weight wrong because she couldn't believe that I weighed 145 and not 125!
I'd love to be 125 but I'm all thunder and lightening from the waist down...I'd have to have some serious muscle wasting for that to happen.3 -
I did my first 5k yesterday! It was 31 degrees and snowing. My beard (full Santa suit) caused some technical difficulties along the way. I still managed to finish in 37 minutes! WOO HOO! I just started running late September, so I'll take it!10

Yay! Long live the bariathletes!4 -
I got two legs into one leg of an old pair of jeans and then found one of my old sweaters and myself and my husband fit in it (arms and all) and zipped it up with both of us in it. I can run now. I started running last month and for the first time ran a mile straight without stopping and am now up to 3 miles.9

I have clavicles! I haven't seen those in more years than I care to remember. Went down a notch on my Fitbit band. This week someone at work who didn't know about the surgery noticed I look thinner, she's the first person to notice! Started exercising this week (am 4 weeks post op) and am already walking faster and for longer than I did before. I'll have to start jogging if I go much faster!8

Saw my nutritionist this week and she referred to me as PETITE...lmfao8

New personal record time for my 10 mile run! I dipped below 90 minutes again and beat my previous best by 18 seconds.6

I was excited to pull out my old holiday shirts/sweaters that had gotten too small in the past few years. We are doing a theme each day this week at work (a middle school) and I am able to participate without buying anything new! Yay!6

I ran a half marathon and met my goal of finishing under two hours...just barely though!
1 hour 59 minutes 27 seconds.
15 out of 79 in my age division (aka middle age)
79 out of 593 women
184 out of 933 total runners
A year ago I could barely run a mile without stopping!

My wrists have gotten smaller and I was able to go to Kohl's today and buy a pretty bracelet for my mother's funeral tomorrow. I could never find any to fit when I was heavier. She always loved "bling" so I'm going to be pretty tomorrow3

I went Christmas dress shopping at Dressbarn and when I showed them a picture of what I wanted, they said they didn't have any in the women's section (where I went) but they thought they had it on the other side of the store. It fit!! I BOUGHT SOMETHING FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STORE!!!

I've lost a total of 26 inches from my various measurements.2

Today I bought a pair of jeans that are a size 16 because my first "goal size" pants I bought pre-surgery (size 20) fell off when I was climbing the stairs with my arms full of laundry. Kids got a laugh as mom tried to stumble up the steps half nekkid lol hard to believe I was a 28 just 3 months ago.7

I went for a DEXA scan today along with metabolic and cardiovascular fitness testing...so happy with the results! While I was happy to see a total body fat percentage just a hair over 16%, I was even happier to see that it measured a very healthy bone density. Osteoporosis runs on both sides of my family so it is a worry for me. Even with a big margin of error, it is a very good result.
My resting metabolic rate came back at 1800 calories and my metabolism measured as 36% faster than average to comparable individuals--sex, age, height, and weight.
My cardio fitness test came back as SUPERIOR! Once again, there is a family history of high blood pressure and heart disease so very pleased to see such good results.
By the way...many FSA plans will cover the cost of this testing so it is a good way to spend leftover money if you have it!3 -
Made it through Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and all the days in between when people are bringing unholy amounts of junk food to work every day...and still lost weight through it all. 67lbs down and counting!2

I stuck to plan all month except Christmas and my birthday, and I walked 50 miles in December. Incidentally lost 9 pounds.7

I've lost 70lbs. It didn't really sink in until I was at the store buying bags of ice melt and I picked up two 40lb bags. I was thinking to myself "Man, these are heavy!" and then realized that they weigh (almost) the same as how much I have lost.
I think though that even more exciting for me than the 70lbs, I put on a pair of 36 jeans I bought and they fit and weren't even tight! I honestly cannot remember ever wearing a size 36. I remember wearing 40 and 42's when I was in high school. I'm also wearing 1-2XL shirts now instead of 3X which were kinda snug. I've always liked my shirts baggy (I think it hides the man-boobs better) so I'm not too comfortable wearing the regular XL, but my wife says they look fine, she just knows I won't listen to her anyway. LOL.6 -
Ran into 2 work friends - 1 yesterday and 1 just now and they said I am so SKINNY...ha ha ha - that is not a word that anyone ever used to describe me before. Looking at my work ID from about 2 years ago to a week or so ago, I can see a difference...12 -
@jcavanna2 - you look amazing!!!!1
-
@Stephaniev51697 thank you!!! Had to laugh my *kitten* off when they called me skinny though...ha ha!3

Over the past few months I've greatly reduced my sugar intake. In the process I have more energy and reduced my Resting Heart Rate to mid-50s. Used to be around 90 before surgery.5
