Hellooo so I'm a beginner runner..I started c25k like 2-3 months ago? i got to week 7 and ditched the app and decided to slow my pace and just run as far as I could. Started on the treadmill, now i'm incorporating more outside runs too. I have a 5k on 3-11. Which i am psyched about, because last night I ran 5k outside for the first time without stopping. And there were some decent hills..I think the 5k race is mostly flat which will be awesome. I go really slow really really slow..my splits last night were lik 16:25, 17 something, and 18 something. so It took me 54 minutes to run 5k..but I didn't walk AT ALL..and i signed up for another 5k April 14th. I'm already looking into possibly doing half marathons, and marathons at some point..i just read an article about a woman who's 288 lbs, did a 20 week marathon training program, and ran a whole marathon. I've lost 40 lbs, i'm at 242 now..so if she can do it..surely i can do it? sorry for typing so much but i'm really freaking psyched about this whole running thing.4

Got a 10K this weekend. Second one this year. First was kinda icy (-13C) but sunny, so not too bad. Time was 1:05. Weather is kinda iffy and it may snow, so I'm not looking for a great time, but it's for charity.1

@Tacklewasher what did you think of 10k as a race distance? I always look forward to my 10k races more than my 5k's.
@alc649 from C25K to marathon - stay psyched, you can do it. And good luck with your 5k on the 11th. I've got a 5k on the 10th. It's not one I've run before, so I don't know what to expect, but I'm sure it will be fun.1 -

All I know is it was cold. My beard and mustache grew an inch with ice during the race. I've done 10K before so I'm good with the distance. Did the local BMO marathon (did the 10K) last year and leading up to it I surprised myself by hitting 10K just on a run while camping.
I do 5K 3 times a week so it's just normal for me now. God that still sounds weird to me.

@dewd2 Thank you for the encouragement I'm IN LOVE with running..It's funny because a few months ago I never would've thought I'd be able to run a mile without stopping, let alone 5k. To actually like running and not dread it is something great and new for me..
@BruinsGal_91 Thank you! Hope your goes well too It's funny when I was on my 5k run the other night, on mile 2 I was like..man I I could run 10k..at 2.6 I was like holy *kitten* im ready to be done. BUT there were some decent inclines I went up around the end so I think that had something to do with it. I'm just glad to know I'll be able to do the 5k on the 11th with no walking! Even if it is at the slowest pace possible. lol1 -

I should mention on the 10K I did, I came in dead last in my age group.0 -

Again, comparison is the thief of joy... you did it! Compare to your previous PB for that race, but other than that, there's no worthy comparison to make.3 -
Running my the Chattahoochee Road Race 5k on Saturday as my Peachtree qualifier. Last year's Peachtree was my first race after starting running in mid-April, so I'm already guaranteed a much better start wave, but would love to knock another wave or two off with this weekend's time.1

I have a HM tomorrow. It's in the middle of marathon training, so I didn't taper for it, so I have no idea how I'll do. Last time I did a race in the middle of marathon training (2014) I did well, but that day it was so cold (17 F at the start) I didn't dare slow down.1

Larmer Tree Marathon tomorrow. Muddy, wet, with residual snow from Storm Emma.
I'm not entirely looking forward to it as my training had been disrupted quite badly.0 -

It was a hard race, but I ended up with a PR. Time was 1:53:05. I really felt the lack of taper.2 -
USATF Masters 8K Road Championship on Saturday at the Towne Bank 8K in Virginia Beach, part of the Shamrock Marathon weekend. I'd like to run the Shamrock Half the following day, but since I'm coming off injury that just seems a bit more stupid than I'm willing to do right now.0

Did my first 5k yesterday, it was cold and wet, and snowing! But it was great. I did it in 46 mins, which is my best time ever. Ran the whole thing. Might sign up for a glow run next weekend, and then I have another 5k on april 14th I looooooved it!5

Ohhh and now i wanna sign up for a 10k in May. I do believe i have the running bug!2

Finally!!! On Sunday I will run my first race of the year. I will once again run the Lucky Charm 10K (this year without the snow storm). And then I get to run a half marathon 6 days later.4

Ran my first half today! Didn’t walk a single time !!!!!!!!4

My second Half-Marathon on my birthday TODAY. Wine Country Half in Paso Robles CA. Turning 46. PR from first is 2hr 8min 40sec. Definitely think I can beat that today. I've come a long way since losing over 200lbs.4

Happy birthday, and good luck!!1 -
I ran the Seabrook Lucky Trails races this past weekend (4th year to do it). I decided to do their hardest challenge. I ran a marathon on Saturday, and a half-marathon on Sunday. Surprisingly, not the slowest half-marathon I've ever done!1

um.... that's nice weather for me... I was running in -27F this winter...LOL... Thanks0 -
Half marathon on Saturday (Roger Snyder Memorial). Just about a foot of snow on the ground on Wednesday (and still snowing). Yeah, this is gonna be FUN!!! The course is along the mountains so it should be very scenic. And since I'm not in top racing shape I should have plenty of time to enjoy it.3

Maybe possibly doing a 5k glow run on saturday, not sure yet though. I wanna run it, but it starts at 6pm so i'm not even sure if it'll be dark..so is it still a glow run if you're not glowing? oh well, it has a cool tshirt and it's running so..win win right?2
-
If you want to do it and think you'd have fun - I say go for it!1
-
I signed up today!2

Spring Forward 15K on Saturday. I know, the time changed a couple weeks ago; Spring Forward is held on the weekend the time used to change. 9.3 miles of beautiful rolling hills, net down for the first 10K and net up for the last 5K. I will not run a PR, because the point is to practice pace control for Boston in a race environment.3

Got a 5k on Sunday. It's a pretty flat course and there's usually only 100 or so runners. Nice and friendly and also very close to the outlet mall which meant last year after the race I went shopping and came home with new running shoes, a couple of pairs of shorts and four t-shirts.
I came third in my age group last year, but I'm a bit slower this year because I've been concentrating on increasing my distance and my speed has definitely suffered.0 -
Zu,bro Endurance Run, starting in just under 48 hours.2
