Thank you SO MUCH to all of you for the kind words. They sure helped. I'm doing much better and it's hard to stay sad for too long now because despite the huge hole she left behind, it keeps getting filled with happy memories.

Long run done. 13 miles and I felt pretty good. I've got about 6 weeks to Disney so I should be able to build my distance in that time without pushing it too fast. And I'm at 65/75. Hooray!0

It was a bitter day but I got up and ran at sunrise for 3 miles and got 7 miles in walking.
@ Janet....way to go on your 13 miles. My knee is hurting just thinking about 13. I hope I get to do one marathon in my lifetime. I am working up for 25k trail race and that seems a bit daunting.

So sorry for your loss, Dave- your post made me cry- for you and for my own loss 10+ months ago. My immediate terrible sadness has slowly worn off, but I still can cry just seeing someone walking a tan doggie who reminds me even a little of my boy- I still miss him (every day). We've talked about someday getting another dog, but we're not ready yet. My daughter brings home my "grand-dog-ter" every week or so, for us to play and snuggle with- she's a cute little silky and a lot of fun, but I really love the 80 lb. big boys who think they are lapdogs0 -

I have been missing, but for great, thankful reason. We drove to Gainesville to spend an early Thanksgiving with our daughter, her brand new finace, and our son and his girlfriend. We leave tomorrow for a Thanksgiving wedding in Puerto Rico I don't know how well I will be adding miles, but I will try.
Dave, I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. It's never easy, no matter how many times we go through this with our pets. My Spike is eight now, and can't imagine when I will have to face what you are going through right now.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!!0
