Try doing in your elbows/forearms. My wrists have issues so I can't do them like the pic either.

@midge_m @Time2LoseWeightNOW you gotta start somewhere. 20 seconds is great! I'm so excited to see where everyone can build up to :)

Survived day 3. It was really hard work! Plus I did it in my jammies so the chesticles were hanging low. Glad no one was around to witness it! :p

Before I had kids and when i was working out and had lost almost 50lbs i could hold a plank pose for 1min 50 secs! I was working towards the full 2 mins. That was 6 years ago after 3 kids and 60lbs+ gained i can only hold up to 40-45secs, depending on how much my shoulder feels. I also try to do it on my elbows or alternate between straight arms.
I may start on my planking again its an overall great exercise, it really works out so many parts of your body than just your core.

No plank for me yesterday, I messed up my low back Sunday and need to rest a little. Hoping to be able to get back to it today.

I tried both versions and the elbow version seemed to be harder...but still not many seconds...planked.. : )

Was able to do 1:20. I tried on my hands instead of elbows and it did seem easier but that could be because I'm getting used to it, maybe?

I'm planking as part of a 30-day Fitness challenge. It looks a little different, and I have to do modified, but it still works up to 5 minutes. So, I'm in.
Today was day 2, 20 seconds. Tomorrow should be interesting.

Another alternative is to do it at a slant with forearms resting on something like a bench or even a stability ball. When I could not do it with arms locked or on elbows, this is what my trainer had me do and I am happy to say it worked for me!

I'm going to keep this in mind! As sore as I am after only 2 days, I imagine this tip will come in handy so I won't give up. Maybe as soon as tomorrow, ha!

Missed yesterday so had to do 50s today. My poor arms were definitely shaking by the end!

I made it 30 seconds today. I was shaking even on my elbows, but I did it. This is bound to get easier at some point.

I thought for sure I did 1:40 already but I guess not. Maybe I didn't update it, I guess I'll do it now.

Ok done. Maybe I'll try 1:50 later since I think I did 1:40 twice. I think I'm getting stronger though. I wasn't shaking as much this time.

I could comment, but I will leave this thread alone. A big 0 as I just cannot get it, my tummy too big. One day.

I could try the wall plank position! Maybe not so hard on the neck! Would this be used to work yourself up to actual horizontal planking?
