Haha I know what you mean, I can already feel the squats I did earlier, hoping tomorrow won't be to bad. It's a good kind of hurt though0

ouchhhhhhhhhhhhhh I need my mommy LOL LOL LOL okay maybe a heating pad lol0

Made it to 1:00 planking on my knees! I am doing some other floor exercises while I'm on the floor. I last on my back, put my hands under my hips, and raise both legs! I haven't been able to do this move for years!!
Awesome job @ms_smartypants !! I hope the soreness goes away quickly! Drink lots of water!! Ibuprofen can help, and ice might be better than heat, if you can stand it! Hugs!!
@auntstephie321, what an inspiration you are!! You are ROCKIN this!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! WE ARE DOING THIS CHICK!! I wouldn't have ever tried this if it weren't for you!!!0 -
About a month ago, just for the heck of it, I was able to do about 90 seconds. I had never done a plank before, and my daughter challenged me. She beat me, but she is 14, and a trim, healthy, athlete.0

Alright, I wanna play!
You have all inspired me along with @auntstephie321 's muscles showing in her back and the abs I saw peeking through!
I want those!
Anyway, I did the elbows but on my toes version for 45 seconds last night. Then I went again in traditional plank form and found that was easier, not that I should probably be choosing easier... And I went another 30 seconds like that.
I think I'll stick with the traditional form to start and do the elbows way that I found to be more difficult later.
I'm not feeling any soreness this morning so far. But, I also started using the weight machines at the gym last week and never really got sore after that either even though I'm working til I can't lift anymore. Kinda weird...0 -
Awesome job @Karlottap @motown13 and @ Sunny_bunny.....my legs are like jello and are sore but I used my foam roller this morning which helped0

I feel like I'm not working hard enough since I'm not getting sore, but during the workout, my muscles are burning and shaking and I just can't do anymore. Maybe I'm just recovering really fast. Or maybe my high dose of magnesium is helping..??? I guess that kind of makes sense.0 -

oh no hun, yes ice and rest, ibuprofen and wine usually fix that for me. But just think about how your muscles are healing and growing right now, it hurts but its worth it.

@karlottap awe thank you. you all keep me going, if I didn't have the support here I would've given up on this long ago. I'm so excited for you, this is really the next stage in our path to health. almost seems like the weight loss was the easy part lol0

welcome to the party! isn't it crazy, I thought the elbows would be easier as well but it really is not. I don't get as sore as I used to either. I know I'm still holding back some though because I don't want to get hurt. I wonder if the keto diet helps any with that since inflammation is reduced so much with this woe.0 -
I just did the wallsit for 5 minutes and 40 seconds .....thighs are screaming0

I'm sure Keto does help. But I've done planks before since Keto that left me sore the next morning and I can't seem to make it happen this time. Lol
Sounds kinda funny, but I feel like that soreness the next day is awesome because like you said, you know you're building muscle as it's healing. So I want that! The only thing different that I do now that I didn't do before is I take about twice as much magnesium and in a better form and I take high dose vitamin C, but that probably has less to do with muscle recovery.
I guess it's still building muscle and I'm just not feeling the typical soreness... ?
I will keep pushing on!0 -
Only did 1:12 this morning.0

@Sunny_Bunny_ I'm sure the mag has something to do with it. I used to always get spasms in my shoulders and neck, at least every other week and I wouldn't be able to turn my head for a few days because of it, its why I can't do much exercise and I'm starting slow. I haven't had that happen in I don't even know how long, each night when I turn my head I can almost feel it start but it never turns into a spasm. I wouldn't be surprised if the magnesium fixed that. I remember when I first started taking it and I did for a couple days then the leg cramps stopped so I stopped taking it, thinking I had taken enough, well the first night after I stopped taking it I got a horrible spasm, I remember asking for advice on that, must've been way back in last april or so, @knitormiss suggested that my body was reacting to not getting the supplement that I had given it and was revolting. lol I've taken it ever since
@petunia773 that's still good, I have days where I feel like I can't even do 50 seconds, I don't know why some days I have the strength to do over 3 minutes and others every second is a struggle.0 -
-
@mssmartypants30 yeah right! I did 1 minute, I'll have to work up to 5 lol. But I also did a 25 minute slim in six workout dvd, 150 jumping jacks, and 1 minute of the photo above, plank dumbbell rows. I had to make myself stop doing stuff. I have so much energy and I recover quickly these days so I want to do more. I have to be careful to not get injured. I'm just so motivated by my comparison photos, all I was doing was planks, I can't wait to see what will happen with more effort.0
-
Your awesome Stephie ....I did 5 minutes and 50 seconds of wallsits tonight......I did slim in six workout when I was on here back in 09/2010 and it helped me to lose 78lbs but of course I gained it all back and then some0
-
I don't see easy in that picture at all Steph! Good on you for doing it! I'm so glad you can see the difference in your pictures too! Sometimes we can't see it! But yea, keep it up!
@ms_smartypants, Woo Hoo for the wall sits!! I may have to try some of those too!
I will be taking a couple of days off after a minor medical procedure I had done today. Will be back at it by Sunday, I'm sure!0 -
Yeah... I didn't even try today ☹
But I will tomorrow and probably go do my gym workout too.0 -
@mssmartypants30 that's incredible I don't know how you do it.
@Karlottap That's funny my bf said the same thing, then I thought yeah I don't know why I thought it'd be easy.
Hope you feel better soon take time to heal
@Sunny_Bunny_ that's ok the cool thing about planks is you can do it whenever wherever for a few seconds, I think that's why I was drawn to it, I didn't have to commit to something major, little by little
Hope you all have an awesome day!0 -
I did it! I thought I was gonna miss another day but I got it done!
1:35!!! Oh yeah! Maybe I'll actually feel it tomorrow0 -
Great job @Sunny_Bunny_0
-
WTG @Sunny_Bunny_ I noticed some aches today but only after I felt my sodium low, I'm thinking sodium has a lot to do with it.0
-
Man! Word to the wise! Use hand sanitizer EVERY TIME you leave a doctor's office! Apparently I picked up a bug that turned into sinusitis (now antibiotics......ugh!!!)!! Feel like crud!! Miss my planking (knocking and screaming like a three year old! Not really......but close, lol!)! Will be back at it tomorrow!! I'm determined dang it! @Sunny_Bunny_, you're doing great! I have yet to feel soreness until I get into position the next time, it's weird! But the strength comes!! Keep it up y'all!0
