Ugh that cut off half my post.

Well now that just looks kinda jerky lol

She didn't say it like that but I got the gist of it.

No music today only deep breaths and I used a count down timer instead of a stop watch. I wanted to quit but couldn't till it hit 0. 3:30 seconds in the bank

I didn't report mine yesterday, it was 3:28. I decided to skip today and will resume tomorrow. I didn't feel anything more than the arm fatigue too! I'm going to keep my music crutch, for now.

:) lol. Nice job. I think this is the longest I've done any sort of consecutive work out and not had a neck spasm

Ok. This is just bad. I know I can't plank long because of my back, but figured I could at least do pushups to start working my way up. I used to do 75 a minute back in military training. My arms and chest were rock solid. I could even knock out 50 one armed.
Well, today I did two. Yes, two. I haven't done them since 1995 and when I tried, I got shooting pains in my wrists and left shoulder. And my back tightened up instantly. I guess no traditional planking or pushups for me. I'll have to try the wall or knee ones. Dang, I'm getting old. This sucks.

I'm starting from not even being able to do two push ups, lol! I figure I've got to start somewhere, and this seems to be helping! I did the vertical plank for 3:47 today! I might try to hold one on my knees later! I'm with you in that I haven't gotten any neck spasm from this either!

That's exciting :) you'll have to let me know if you try the knee ones. I did 2:40 yesterday, I've been tightening every muscle when I do it, it's quite the workout. I've also added in some light hand weights and no problems so far. I feel soreness the next day but not pain. All good signs :)

Yes! I did a horizontal plank on my knees for 45 seconds last night!! I'm loving the strength here! No pain today either! I'm about to head out for a bike ride! Will attempt a longer time later today!

You are rockin this Steph!! Thanks for this, so very much!! This really began the next phase of my journey to be healthy!

I'm going to keep going! I tried to do knees, but am too sore to assume the position.

I hate when comments get cut off! Grrr!
Weird that I didn't feel the soreness until I tried to get into position!
I had added that I backed off and did a vertical position, and managed 4:30!! I will keep trying the horizontal!

    That's great @lorieca!

I plan to keep working this angle since it seems to be helping in such a huge way! Doing this has made me want to do more! This is the very first time that I can say I am really liking exercise (wow! I did say that!)!

Be careful, don't push to hard, it's so hard for me to limit myself too, but I know what happens if I don't.

I planked for the first time today and made it for 1 minute. I never knew how hard that was. Wow. I'm going to try to do it every morning before I get on my treadmill. I was starting to shake after 20 seconds! I'm hoping this will firm up my arms and maybe my abs. I tried on a bikini last night and my belly needs quite a bit of firming up.

same here, I had no clue it looks so easy. I too am hoping to strengthen my core doing the planks, I can already feel a difference in both my abs and my arms and it's only been a few weeks. hopefully once I lose the rest of this fat the underneath muscles will be all nice and tight.

Not me, I'm still here. I did 1 minute yesterday. I've been doing some other exercises too and so far so good. So my planks haven't been as long, hoping the weights will help be build my strength to be able to plank even longer.

Way to go on 1:30! That's not easy :)

Did a new exercise today. I'm all encouraged by my photos I did the other day. I'm even more focused on building strength now. I did 1 minute plank with 7 lb weights under my hands and did alternating rows while planking. Wow was that hard, I'm interested to see how I feel in the am. Hoping for no pain. I really feel like I can push harder than before, for the first time in years.
