Simbersea- hope you feel better soon0

Get well Simbersea. This has been an excellent week in learning how to be more aware of what I am eating and enjoying all of your comments and concerns. Keep up the good work everyone!0

Morning ladies!
Well someone ended brining in chocolate chip banana bread during my night shift and long story short I had 3 pieces so there goes my sweet treat point for today . I'm very much still learning how to plan and schedule my meals and exercises and am looking forward to next week.
Hopefully everyone has a good last day of week one!!0 -
Hi all, happy Sunday - it's been a busy weekend! I'm hoping that we've all had a positive week with the challenge- are we all updating the central spreadsheet or am I expecting numbers individually? Either way don't forget to send them to me and I'll get our submission in0
-
Hi all. I'll be updating the central spreadsheet after dinner. Hope everyone had a good week. I didn't lose any weight but I did eat healthier. Week 2 I plan to focus on add more intense cardio to my routine which is pretty much walking/step-based.0

Morning team and congratulations for making it to week two!! I've submitted our numbers - a respectable team score of 164 for the week. And special recognition to Patti for being our highest points scorer for the week with a cracking 219 points .
Looking back over last week, I can now start to see where my problem areas are. I eat better when I'm working but I have more chance for exercise when I'm at home. I'll be honest, I'm going to struggle to make the 3,500 calories burned in a week but I can certainly try to do better with the food when I'm at home - though the cooked breakfast this morning may not have been the best start!
Anyway, hope everyone has a great day - I've got a day off with my husband (and little one is in nursery) so no excuses! Off to clean the kitchen then probably get my workout in.0 -
Morning!
Way to go Patti! You gave me something to strive toward for week two Overall I think week one went OK but I am looking forward to week two and getting my numbers up.
I definitely am having trouble getting in all my vegetables so I have to figure out how to get more into my day. I find that I eat and exercise better depending on what shift I'm working. If I work during the day I find it the hardest to exercise and eat well versus working at night I have no problem eating well, getting my water in and exercising.
I honestly thought getting 3,500 calories burned in a week was going to be a cakewalk and struggled a lot with that one. I'm not sure I'll make it this week either but by week 8 I'm sure I'll manage it

Congratulations Patti, you're #1. Good luck everyone else this week. I need to get more exercise in. My goal this week is to increase my score from last week. I'm happy that I lost weight. There is hope.0

Small win today -- someone left a box of leftover cupcakes on the kitchen counter at work this afternoon and I actually decided not to eat one because I wanted my 5 "no sweets" points today. LOL. Without this challenge, I probably would have just gone ahead and eaten one with some rationalization of "tomorrow is another day" as far as the diet is concerned.0

Great start team - 2nd in the team rankings and with the highest individual points winner! Let's keep this going ladies0

Good Day 2 of Week 2 to everyone! How did the week start off for everyone? I almost forgot my second fruit serving but had it with yogurt before going to bed. So what are your goals for this week? Mine is to add a cardio max/boot camp dvd to my workouts twice this week. I did it Sun. and had a hard time moving yesterday so 2x per week should be a good start.0
-
my goal for the week is to be as good when I'm at home and rushed off my feet as I am when I'm at work and have a bit more time to plan my day!0
-
How's everyone doing. Love the "Chugwater" picture miztess. My kidneys are floating. I have never drank so much water in my life!!! I agree, if it wasn't for this challenge and RedVelette, I would be grazing at the hog trough. I actually threw away a sweet chocolate morsel that someone gave me at work (after they had left my desk of course). I'd rather face the scale without the extra calories from that little treat. Everyone keep up the good work. Go YELLOW!!0
-
Good job Gloria on tossing away those treats -- I know it can be hard, especially if you have a sweet tooth like mine.0
-
I'm afraid I wasn't as strong as Gloria yesterday. It was Fat Tuesday so that meant Paczkis when I got to work and I resisted for a bit but couldn't manage it so now I have a sore tummy, headache, and regrets.
Today's a new day so let's make it count!0 -
Good morning team! Cassandra - I wasn't strong yesterday either, had a lousy day at work and consoled myself with shortbread biscuits in the evening so lost the points for my sweet treats. Back on the wagon today with a fruit salad for breakfast so I've already hit my fruit allocation for the day. Working from home so should be able to get a workout in over lunch then we have parents evening at nursery tonight (I thought this sort of thing only started at school but no, apparently a 14 month old can have a parents evening!!).
Hope you all have a great day - we are doing well so let's keep it going ladies.
Simbersea, how are you doing? Hope your cold has eased off for you?0 -
Good morning / afternoon. Made a smoothie with greek yogurt and canned peaches last night that got me my 2 fruit servings and satisfied my dessert sweet tooth all in one fell swoop. Weaning myself off dessert after dinner is helping me keep to my calorie goal which is now being reflected on the scale.
Hope everyone has a successful day today.0 -
Ooh - that sounds rather nice Patti. Might have to try and make something like that.0
-
Good morning all! Feeling in something of a funk at the moment and struggling to kick myself back into gear - need to give myself a kick in the backside! Fruit target hit for the day with breakfast - now for everything else. Have a good day all.0
-
I'm with you Jane, the past few days I've just felt unmotivated but I managed to get in a decent workout yesterday and that helped a bit. Just have to take it one day at a time and pace yourself.0
-
Hi everyone! Hope your Day 4 is going well. I'm off to a slow start as I cut my morning walk with the dog short because it is just WAY TOO COLD out there. Hopefully I'll get out at lunch for a decent walk. Maybe tonight I'll get an exercise video in before dinner. We shall see. Other than that I have meals planned for today that get in the required veggie and fruit servings but I need some exercise calories in order to make it all fit within my calorie range. Fingers crossed. Good luck to y'all with the rest of your day.0

Hey everyone. I don't know what the weather is like for you all, but it's 11 degrees here in Titusville, PA with continuous blowing snow. burrrrrr!!!! So inside exercising today. I'll just walk around the halls at lunchtime. Cassandra, I'm curious, just what is Paczkis? Or do I not want to know. Keep tracking your food everyone. Remember, spring is around the corner and we have to take those coats off eventually.
Gloria0 -
Gloria, Paczki are deep-fried pieces of dough shaped into flattened spheres filled with jelly or cream and dipped into powered sugar or icing. It's like a large fatty jelly filed donut and they are only available on Fat Tuesday (around here).

They look like Pure evil0
-
oh they look good - in a truly bad kind of way!0
-
OMG!!!! CIRCLES OF DEATH. Stay away!!! They look divine.0
-
They are amazing and they come in so many flavors that you usually end up eating more then one lol0
-
Morning Team Yellow! Hope your week is going well. I'm finding it easier to do the diet part of the challenge but not so much with getting additional workouts in beyond my usual walking routine (30-40 min walks, 10-12K steps per day). I have 3 days left to try to get a video workout or two in. Looking forward to a 3 day weekend (Monday is a day off for President's Day) despite the bitter cold they are predicting for the DC area.
So here's a motivational thought for the rest of the week:

Here Monday is a holiday as well but we have Family Day since I'm in Canada
Spent the afternoon prepping some fruits and veggies for the next week. It's nice to get it out of the way and it definitely makes it easier just being able to grab something when I'm running out the door with the kids.0
