Thanks for the congrat Jane. Sad to see we have lost two of our members, I wish them well. New goal for 2017! My nephew is getting married. Back in 2012 my brother got married, and looking back over the pictures (4 brothers and 4 sisters), I looked like a water buffalo. Next year I plan to be the beauty queen of the group ( I really mean it!!). I couldn't even dance through a whole song. Hope everyone is doing ok mid-week. Yes Jane, I feel that I am eating healthier. I just need to continue that from now on to finally reach my goal and to maintain afterwards.

Congrats Gloria! Keep up the good work.

I've been having many of the same thoughts Jane -- this challenge has been good in having me focus on different aspects of my diet and healthy lifestyle and sometimes forcing me to make a healthy choice when I was tempted to either not do anything (exercise) or make a not so successful food choice. However, this last week I found myself getting all wrapped around the axle/stressed about meeting my serving quotients or exercising that I've lost focus on the overall plan to eat at a deficit and manage my nutrients (mainly protein). I too need to get back to basics and fit this challenge into my plan as opposed to make my plan fit into the challenge. I made a good start in that direction yesterday.

Anyhow -- good luck to you both for the rest of the week. Hopefully this will be a good week for us all.

Good morning my team mates. Hope you're having a good start. I keep forgetting to check in on the end of the week boxes. I have just been reading Weeks 3-6 entries. I was surprised to see I have won some challenges. No wonder everyone was congratulating me. Silly me! Talk to you later.

Good morning Gloria, Jane. It's "humpday" for our challenge week -- hope all is going well. I'm still struggling to stay on track in some categories but will persevere.

Good afternoon both - humpday indeed. All going well here although I'm also struggling a little bit in some ways. But on the plus side, we were near enough joint winners for last week and again Gloria blazed a trail with individual points - so well done team :). Here's to a good second half of the week to us all.

TGIF!!!!! Right now I'm so hungry I can eat the door off of the refrigerator. Good thing I'm at work. Almost time for lunch, thank goodness. I am trying to stay off the scale daily. When the numbers don't move as fast as I want them to, I get depressed. How often do you weigh yourselves?
  • janetay01
    janetay01 Posts: 1,299 Member
I've moved to weighing myself once a week Gloria or I get a bit too obsessed by the daily changes.

I weigh myself every morning when I first wake up. Seeing that the "ups" are a normal part of weight loss helps me to not freak out when the scale goes up a for a day or two. Looking back over my weight stats over the last 6 months shows that I can "gain" 1-2 lbs after a loss but then it evens out over the next couple of days so I net another loss the following week. It also lets me know when I'm heading in the wrong direction when I get off track and not maintain my calorie count.

Good job Gloria. Keep up the good work.

This is a new week with double points for exercise. Let's go team and see if we can pull in a win for Week 7!

Morning ladies! team score for last week - 191. Individual winner - Gloria with 213 - brilliant work :) And great work on the 2lb loss Gloria.

Well, I've had the breakfast of champions today - a croissant, a twix and a cup of tea at my desk at work :(. Or perhaps more accurately, the breakfast of someone who's been up most of the night with a tearful, unwell baby - it's going to be a long day!

But on a more positive note, week 7 ladies and we are doing well. Let's give it a go for the bonus points for exercise this week and see what we can do. My work are offering free lifestyle and health checks so I've signed up for one on March 30th - will be interesting to get a wider picture of my health than simply calories and numbers on a scale. May be enlightening!

Jane, sorry to hear about the baby being ill, hope the little type gets well soon. The life style and checks sounds interesting. Our insurance company offers something like this. I'm going to miss our challenge when it's over. Hope we can keep in touch with our progress with each other. Have a good week, and let's kick some butt next week. Go YELLOW!

Good afternoon everyone. I managed to get a 47 min walk in during lunch so 14 points. Yesterday I only managed 2 15 min walks with the dog but every little bit counts. Can't believe we are in week 7. Fingers crossed for a successful week for all of us.

Good work out! Went for a walk with my doggie "nephew". He is not use to walking outside. I thought I'd have to pick the little thing up on the way back home, but we made it. He collapsed for the rest of the night. I thought it would be me since I'm not that active yet!

Better luck indeed this week - let's try and hit the end of the challenge hard. I admit I'm in a rut at the moment - husband isn't well and isn't sleeping, which means that I don't sleep either! So I am absolutely exhausted and I'm reaching for comfort food as a result. However, trying to resist and stick to good habits - the only thing is that the exercise is just not happening right now.

Hope the week is treating you guys better - glad you managed to exhaust the dog Gloria!!

Morning all! Soooo tired - having spent the last 4 nights looking after a combination of a vomiting child and a coughing husband, they both sleep through fine last night. Me? Lying wide awake till 1.30, fell asleep, woke again about 3.30, listened to the birds wake up for an hour or so then work again at 6am by my little boy who had decided it was time to get up! On the plus side, I've got my 30 minute walk in for the day and I have a jug of water on my desk. Will see how I'm feeling this evening - will try and get a workout in to push me over the 45 minute barrier. And it might help me sleep!

Hope the week is treating you well? At least it's Friday - any nice plans for the weekend? We are going family visiting tomorrow - it's amazing how much more you see of family once you have a little one!

Busy weekend here for me with church conference and 2nd job. Found another challenge site (Challenge #23-Spring) that appears to be perpetual throughout the year for 8 weeks. Looks more intense than our current one. I think I will give it a try. Hope your house gets healthy!

Hello everyone. Sorry to hear how sick your family is Jane. Hope they get better soon and that you can get some rest. Gloria you seem to be just buzzing along - I'm glad you found another challenge to keep you going. I need to take a 15 min. walk tonight to get my 45 min. of exercise for today.

Hi all. Just completed my worksheet for the week. Complete laziness settled in this weekend and I hardly got any exercise in at all. Hard to believe tomorrow starts the last week of the challenge. Hope you guys are doing OK.

Morning all - week 8, where did that go?? Doing ok at this end - son is now healthy so just need to sort the husband out!!! One small step and all that! Brisk 30 minute walk already achieved this morning and a jug of water and the days fruit on the desk in front of me.

Gloria: tried to find that challenge but couldn't, will search again today as I could do with something to keep going with. Hope Monday is good to you both - I'll sort our scores out when I get home tonight.

morning ladies. Where has the time flew. I lost 3 lbs. this week, yahoo!!! Jane the other group is under "Challenge #23 - Spring Time". I want to thank you two yellow team members for your encouragement and support. Without you two it would have been one lonely journey.

Well done Gloria - you are continuing to show us the way with this challenge! I'm clearly doing something wrong with the group search - can't find your challenge group anywhere, can you put a link to it in here?

And while we are at it, thank you to you both as well - we are a good little team :)

good morning ladies - hope the day is treating you well?

Sweet treat fail today - couldn't resist the lemon and sultana cookies in the room where I was setting up training this morning. Disappointed in myself but hey - moving on. On the plus side, already got my 45 minutes exercise in for the day (albeit only walking) so not all bad :)

By George, I did it. Hope you enjoy this site as much as I do. Don't let one meal defeat you. So you age some cookies. Continue on with the next meal. We all deserve a break once in a while. Don't beat yourself up about it. It is in the PAST.

    Good morning Team.

Congrats on the 3 lb loss Gloria. You're doing great.

Jane, I get the cookie dilemma -- I do well when treats are out of sight but have a hard time when they are right under my nose. Sometimes I can resist and other times I give in. But when I do give in I acknowledge that I'm choosing to eat that treat, eat it, and then move on. Sometimes having an internal conversation (e.g. how badly do you really want that treat????) helps me to choose not to eat it -- sometimes I take the treat and wrap it up to eat later and then never get around to eating it -- fulfills the psychological need to "treat" myself without actually eating calories. Sounds crazy but sometimes these psychological games I play with myself help me to do the right thing (I do the same thing with exercise -- I say I'm only going to do 10 min or just walk around the block and then once I'm doing it i think I may as well go the full 30 min or go the extra mile since I'm already doing it)

Jane - so sorry you were having problems. I just found out that the challenge group is now closed out. They only accept 100 participants (4 teams of 25) lx8wlkiotra4.jpg
and have reached their quota for this session. It occurs every 8 weeks. I will let you know when the next one starts (probably mid May), if you are still interested. I'm going to miss my YELLOW team members. Hope we can all keep in touch. So far still having a good week. I have turned down a couple of eating engagements. I don't feel safe yet to venture out to the "trough". Thanks for the congratulations. I have a friend who always says "When I'm good, I'm very very good; and when I'm bad, I'm very very bad". So far I'm the good girl, and it is showing on the scale. Pray for me, I'll pray for you to continue on our weight loss journey!
