Am I the only one that finds it difficult to eat more?

Hope the coming week is better for you.
Party sounds fun, as long as it will be pain free.
Love the idea of blocking off the Sunday for recovery. Do you plan anything for this day, like catching up with a good book, watching a favourite movie or just take it as it comes?
Here is to a better week than last week!

I've always just taken it as it comes. I am looking forward to eating this year though! Hoping that people bring lots of yummy foods! LOL

So far this week has been better! Hoping it's going good for others too.

Just an observation that I've noticed since I started eating more... So many people seem to think when you say you are eating more 2 way less that you are on an all you can eat bingeathon.

I recently acquired a "new" friend. This person has lost an amazing amount of weight, (at least I think it's amazing) but they have hit a plateau. When they announced that they were going to try eat more 2 weigh less you would have thought that the person had announced that they were going to cut off a leg in order to lose more weight. The person had people saying that eating more was not the answer and that they should just cut out more calories even though they were already eating under 1200 a day and exercise more. Several of us were quick to jump in and let this person know how we have been having success by eating more. So many of them seriously thought that meant that the person was simply going to just start eating thousands upon thousands more calories than what they were eating.

Anyway, I guess I just wanted to say, don't let these kind of people get under your skin. Many of us have already learned that this way is so much better for the majority of us. (They did get under my skin for a brief time, then I said to myself, is their ignorance worth this much irritation? The answer was a resounding NO, so I let it go and refused to say anymore on that thread) I'm proud of myself for that.

Yes - eating more than bare minimum, but still less than maintenance to lose fat weight (when done with reset).

Or, if they've gotten close to healthy weight and just have a number problem (5 more!), changing their perspective.

Yes, I guess most people think that 'their' way is the only way.
I've tried to make suggestions to people in my life that I see on the roundabout of yo yo diets, but it falls on deaf ears so I just let them figure something out that works for them. Each to their own.
People only hear when they are ready to hear, that was true for me too.
It's just against everything we have been led to believe, so it seems too good to be true.
You did well to set the record straight and offer up your own success as evidence <3
but yeah, sometimes, we just got to let it go!

Friday was a geocaching event. Saturday was my brother's annual party. Sunday was my great niece's first birthday. Busy weekend, now I am hoping for a rest day. No weigh in or measurements this week. This was my Saturday: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10207283105982329.1073741902.1425159411&type=1&l=237e93b100

What a fun Saturday, thank you for sharing those precious moments. Gorgeous day! Yay for a geocashing, party and birthday weekend! I'm so glad you are enjoying the summer. I bet you were pretty active through all this.

I find it interesting that I'm not stressing over this! I know now that a lot of the increases are because of this major heatwave we are in the midst of and not drinking enough. I have been over on calories this week, but not six pounds worth! My measurements are also way off due to swelling and fluid retention. We finally got some rain yesterday here in Western NY, but it came down so fast and hard it just ran off instead of soaking into the ground like so many crop fields need.

The busy weekend went straight into the week! I never did get my day off! We found two geocaches yesterday between dodging the rain drops (buckets) LOL. The storms chased us away from one or two as well. Oh well, hoping to keep my feet up today and drink lots of water to see if I can get rid of this bloat. Have a great week everyone!

All the. Loat and water retention can do a huge number on our bodies! I couldn't believe how swollen my calves and feet were after flying over 16 to get back home. All that time without enough water and being in the air did a big trick. A few days later it seems to be back to normal. Make sure you drink more water.

One thing that I've noticed the last week or two is that I'm losing my "fat person butt"! If you've ever watched "My 600 lb life" you know what I mean... that "shelf butt". It's finally rounding out instead of looking like a shelf. LOL

It's been a long and exhausting week, but I made it through! We ordered a new love seat because our ten year old one has ripped out seats and we have had to replace the springs in the foot rests (it's a recliner). The new one has power reclining, we are hoping that it helps keep my fingers, wrist, knees and ankles from going out as often.

I'm still not sure how we can go shopping every day, yet come home with nothing? How does that happen? I am running out of ideas on what to eat. Rick just went threw a spell where all it seemed he wanted was pizza... All that salt and on top of that I have to take Benadryl when I eat tomatoes due to allergies. The inflammation from that is finally going away!

Guess that's everything of interest this week. Hopefully I got a chuckle out of you with my "fat person butt" LOL. Have a great week everyone!

@scaryann1 I did get a huge chuckle out of me, lol! I guess saying bye bye to the back shelf is a good thing! I remember the day I walked by a mirror and noticed a different butt.
The daily dinner can become an ordeal. I deal with it frequently. Somedays I have tome and mood to elaborate fancy meals, sometimes I don't even ask what they want and tell them food is food, eat. I am modest and simple and could eat basic and uncomplicated stuff almost everyday. A protein, a veggie and a carb, done! But my other "clients" differ...

I have no idea where this week went! It seems like just yesterday I was updating. Three quarters of a mile today geocaching! One find and one DNF. I had to fight with the weeds over my crutches. The weeds thought they wanted them more than I did. I avoided stepping on 9 little toads, even though one ran head first into one of my crutches. LOL Now my kitty is ready to snuggle, I guess she missed me today.

Feeling a little down about this update. I can't seem to drink as much as I know I have to. Rick wants to eat out every single stinking day. This week it's been McDonald's. I HATE McDonald's. Just feeling Blah, hoping this week goes better. Tired of eating just for the sake of eating.

It's tough finding decent choices at McDonalds - and the few that might be considered good macros or decent nutrients means little variety if done frequently.
For many it just doesn't cut it. For many that could eat BigMac's almost daily - obviously the monotony isn't the problem.
I have a list in the car of the fast food places and what I'd get there if that was the emergency stop - like Wendy's large chili and 1 package crackers, I think cheese needed to be in there too, don't recall now. Taco Bell 2 chicken soft tacos with sour cream which they don't even have now. That way if I didn't bring or no access to my lunch, or couldn't make it home to my dinners, I was fine.

Ugh, I hate the eat just for the sake of eating and eating out everynight or bringing take out gets really bleh! Unless you are on a cruise eating out of fancy places everynight, then I'm in! As much as fast food chains can be fun sometimes, it just doesn't feel me up, even if I eat my calories.

Sorry you guys are not in the same page and I can see how the lack of nutrients and lack of control of how much sodium, calories and macros can just ruin everything, from mood to the waist. Then there's always a free soda happening here and there. I wish he would compromise and see where you are coming from. Maybe chosing two or three nights of the week for eating out?

Managed to make up 80+ meatballs yesterday! For some odd reason we had meatball subs for supper last night. My back hurt so bad I wanted to vomit by the time I was done, but on the bright side, I have at least three meals in the future where I won't have to do as much work to fix. Today my fingers are killing me, but I put my ring splints on and am hoping they start helping soon. I ordered some new coated wire to try making some new ones that won't turn my skin green like these brass ones do. Eventually I will find the material to work with that is perfect for me. I need to work on a thumb splint too, hopefully I get a design figured out soon.

I just wanted to pass along a side note. Have you looked at rehabmart.com? They carry splinting material. You usually can heat it up enough to mold it to your hand by using the highest setting on your hair dryer or non stick skillet depending what you have at your house. If you have an idea of what you want to make for yourself, you just cut it to the shape you want then heat it so its pliable and form it around your finger or hand. You can get Velcro and glue it on to use as a wrap fastener.

Thanks for the heads up beverly, I'm always looking into new ideas. I have a spica splint that OT made for my thumb, but it doesn't allow for use while wearing it. I've seen some from the ring split company, but I can't afford $80+ per splint. I'll have to look into the splinting plastic and see about making something for holding the thumb in while still being able to use my hands.

Glad that week is over. Had a rough time eating this week. I have no idea why, but I didn't push it. I did eat a LOT of junk food in trying to get my calories up. I did manage at least two days of lifting my weights and several days of walking with my crutches while window shopping. The power reclining love seat came in and I love it! It hasn't helped keep my knees in though. :disappointed: I have to remember to make sure my legs are straight when I put the foot rest down, or my knees will go out then pop back in. It's a little bit painful.

We had a wicked storm go through last night. It's kind of funny as we had a severe thunderstorm warning until 10 pm last night. The storm roared through at 10:15 pm and knocked the power out until six am. The funny part is our cats (we have three) are afraid of the dark. We even had to put night lights in the bathroom for them. Well last night when the power went out they went nuts. We thankfully got battery operated lanterns last year for Christmas. Rick put one on the back of the toilet for the girls. I was woken up at least three times last night by the cat trying to get close to the lantern and knocking the broken toilet seat lid off. LOL

Changed from Scoooby calculator to haybales spreadsheet. Went from lifting 2.25 pounds to 4.25 pounds 3-4 times per week. I have so much energy I'm having trouble using it all up! My house is the cleanest it has been in years. I have been taken off one of my blood pressure meds due to low blood pressure readings, 85/58! My body hates me, I hurt more and more every day, but I have too much energy to sit in one place anymore. And do yo see those average calories? I'm almost to those calculated daily calories! When I get there, you know I'm going to have questions, but until then I'm going to enjoy the eating. (I never thought I would ever say that sentence in my lifetime.)

Ann what are those spreadsheets you talk about above? Thank you Carol

That's the first time I've heard of cats being afraid of the dark! Bet there wasn't much sleep had in your house!
Sometimes I the k we just feel like that with eating. You're right not to push it, just got to roll with how your body feels. But AMAZING that you got in walks and weights.

@dejavuohlala Here is the link to heybales spreadsheet: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/heybales/view/weight-loss-spreadsheet-for-bmr-tdee-deficit-calculations-426221

And here is the Scooby calculator: http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/

I'm still using haybales spreadsheet because I like it better and all my information is on my computer instead of on the internet.

@empressichel Our girls (the cats) are major spoiled, in case you couldn't tell. LOL I went looking for the youngest one the other day... I found her on the shelf in the closet, next to the ceiling, crammed in a small space between my tote of braces and a box.
