Will give it a go! Never thought that I would eat fossils that I studied. V odd. Cashew headache nuts with lunch but the that beef salad was yummy and no dairy so no bloat. Happy with learning more each day.1

I am having trouble with sprouted grains. (Not that we eat much bread.) But in trying low carb breads, sprouted grains seem to be the winner for lower carbs, and I cannot do them at all. Off to the bathroom within 10 minutes. Regular yeast bread, tried as a experiment twice, no problem.0

Older veggies, egg n almond meal, plus almond milk. Sneezing, sore throat, scratchy eyes. Guess histammines are a part of my story.0

Is it possible it's something in your environment? Have you looked into oral allergy syndrome? Do you have an allergy specialist?0

Don't forget you have a distinctly different microbiome in your mouth (different from your stomach). You might try some "natural" toothpaste without the fluoride and other chemicals. I buy mine at Fresh Thyme, but sure you can find some online and/or at other whole foods stores.
I hope this helps,

@dittoDan love the cat paws. Thxs!
Awesome weekend cycling part of the Mosel river. Gorgeous scenery, many castles and tudor style buildings, great cycle paths and yummy bakeries. I tried bienenstich (bee sting cake) and cherry strudel and bread. Mostly had meat and eggs but some treats in the mix. Short term felt snotty but no headache. Longer term, when you combine it with the muscles busy building, I look like the "stay puff marshmallow" woman. Gained 5lb in 4 days on scale. Not real. I figure one of you at least could do with a laugh imagining that marshmallow lady on a fine bone structure.
My husband describes it as my body is building muscles so it put up scaffolding whilst it does that. Will shrink again once the building is complete and the scaffolding is put down. Lovely imagery. Meantime... thunder thighs! Looking forward to doing that type of holiday again. Little less treats.

@SamandaIndia Just read through most of this thread, and it sounds like we had/have very similar issues. Any time I would eat fruits/veggies, raw nuts and hand full of other foods, my lips would swell, my nose would run, throat constricted and break out in wheals on my hands and fingers.
I ended up at an allergist for these symptoms and they put me through the normal prick test. The doctor (Older man) looked at my results and said "you are the second most sensitive person I have met in my entire career". He went on to say (paraphrasing) that there is a similar protein in the foods that trigger me to the pollen I am highly allergic to and my body is reacting (histamines) like I am eating the pollen.
The solution, allergy shots! Seriously, this changed my life and food relationships dramatically. I am back to being able to eat 90% of the foods that triggered me with out any issues. There is a solution other than cutting out all these foods and it makes LCHF so much easier to follow. Technically, I has severe OAS, with birch bark, rag weed and grass as the most sensitive pollens.

Check out the cross reaction section of the wikipedia link, might blow your mind.
TL;DR - Go to the allergist and get checked out for OAS!0 -
Thanks @ryanb1385. I will investigate.
Mustard or older shredded coconut caused sneezing last night. Spectacular. Chicken breast n egg were other 2 foods I ate and I have had them today with salt and no sneezing. Next to try either the coconut or mustard with something. My money is on the vintage djon mustard.0 -

Hummm.... with my yeasties and beasties making VLCD impossible (when I am in ketosis for longer than 12 hours - all symptoms re-appear with a vengeance), I am skeptical but tempted to try. And the OP is a blogger about LC diet who ran into food intolerances and it was a miracle cure for her.
Not recommending but very curious. Anyone else heard of this one?
If you decide to use it, make sure it's FOOD GRADE. There are several different kinds.1 -
Mustard is the guilty party. Same ingredients for lunch sans mustard and no sneezing. Sharing in case that helps someone else on their discovery path.1

@SamandaIndia - I wonder if mustard powder would have the same effect - or if it might be the vinegar or another ingredient?0 -
@KnitOrMiss good question. Will investigate.
BtW Just had a new season apricot as a treat and I have a funny swelling tingling in upper palette of mouth so I may also need to burrow down the OAS birch pollen line of thinking too. Thxs to @ryanb1385 for that tip. Wish it was easy to pattern match with a cause.1 -
I am severely allergic to mustard in any and all forms. Pollen, mustard seeds, dry mustard, etc. I get hives all over and my throat swells shut. Anaphylaxis. It is in so many things! I've learned to make things like barbecue sauce, baked beans, etc. without mustard.0

Trust me when I say I feel your pain. Hopefully, it is OAS because there is a solution to it. You can always message me, or post here if you have questions.1 -
@Jan93L baked beans have mustard in them?? Wow. Interesting! Thxs for sharing.0

@SamandaIndia They have dry mustard, even in the canned ones. That was one of the first things I reacted to. Our family ate baked beans every Saturday when I was a kid. Now I substitute a 1/4 tsp of turmeric and 1/4 tsp of ginger for the mustard. Horseradish is good in them , too. Or a but of cayenne or hot sauce. Different flavor than mustard but it gives a little kick to things.1

Call it denial... I love tomato and before I went burrowing down this lchf/ candida/ inflamation rabbit hole I had made / frozen a nice batch of minestrone soup. A former go-to fave of mine. Spring clean out of house and I figure I may as well eat it rather than waste it. I know it has lots of root veg n even pasta in it. One bowl full consumed....Bad choice. I love that soup but it hates me.
I know I do have some immediate allegic style reactions AND I think also have some that take longer n build up like histammines. Cloggy head n sore throat n scratchy eyes clearly in response to the soup. My heart is still struggling to throw the rest of that batch out. I feel very odd with the concept of giving it to someone, saying here is something that made me sick, tastes amazing, hope you enjoy it. I also think emotionally I am not just throwing the soup out, I am throwing my denial out with it. Hard!! Not quite there yet, so thus the rambling post. I sound like I am quitting drugs.... Such a mind game!1 -
Happy Dance. BPC, 2 hour cycle, Vietnamese basil beef at lunch then 2 hour cycle home then restaurant scallops and beef for dinner with no adverse reactions. Even had a couple of bights of chocolate lava cake with vanilla bean icecream. Yum. No headache. First day in months.4
