    Hi
I walked 7500 Steps during today's morning walk. The temperature this morning is 69 on the news channel and 67 degrees on the front porch. I ended up the day yesterday with 10.8k steps. After yard work later on after we returned from the Produce store where I checked their prices and the Grocery Store was lower according to their flyer so I walked down there and back to the truck where my brother was patiently waiting. I was mistaken when I said they had two types of apples on sale what was on sale was D'Anjou Pears and Red Delicious Apples :)

On the way to the 90s already.at 8:45 it is 82 degrees :( No wonder I was starting to feel warm walking today.

Some humor from a post elsewhere on this forum :)

    Hi
I walked4000 Steps + 5 pennys from 4 locations during today's walk. The temperature this morning is 71 on the news channel and 71 degrees on the front porch. I ended up the day yesterday with 9600+ steps.

Why the short walk You may be wondering, I was a little depressed as just before I left for my walk the Window AC started giving out a loud shrieking noise as of a dry bearing. I turned it off and went walking, however I did want to get back after it had some time to defrost just in case it was only iced up, however I suspect that even if it is OK right now I need to look for a small physical size unit for where it fits and keep it in mind just in case.

Yesterday I had a sudden hankering for a dish Mom used to make, Start out cooking loose Ground Beef & Onions then add Pork & Beans and stirs until warm, serve. And of course Franks & Beans :)
I can do either of those using the NS Chicken with beans Dinner by counting the chunk of chicken as a PF and adding the other ingredients and stay pretty much on plan too.
What created the hankering? My Brother was cooking some 90% from on sale Hamburger with Onions and naturally smell is a huge trigger for that sort of thing :)

Yesterday he brought home the 2.5 dozen eggs that are on sale for $1.99 to hard boil, and some small packages of Top Round London Broil that were on sale all well under $2 :)

ANAHEIM >> Seventeen people had a crappy day at the Happiest Place on Earth.

They enjoyed the Disneyland just fine. But they were hit by a mass of droppings from a flock of geese.

It was dramatic enough to bring police and firefighters to the Magic Kingdom.

The Anaheim Police Department says they answered a call that guests had been hit with fecal matter, but determined it was from a flock of geese that flew over and no crime occurred. Eleven adults and six kids were hit, but none were hurt.
Police say all guests are now healthy and happy.

House Explodes in Fiery Blast in Piscataway; 1 Hurt: Officials
Gas was suspected as the cause of the explosion
    http://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/House-Explodes-in-Piscataway-Hopkinson-Avenue--427764393.html
A house exploded early Sunday in Piscataway and the homeowner was burned, but survived the fiery blast, witnesses said.

The house on Hopkinson Avenue was completely leveled. The burned-out shell of a car could be seen amid the smoldering remains.

Mayor Brian Wahler said gas appears to be the cause, citing "the size of the explosion - the house was blown off its foundation. And there's literally nothing left of the house."

The homeowner, who is a municipal worker for a nearby town, was blown outside of the house by the force of the blast, officials said.

Psychic hit by car inside restaurant says he didn't see it coming
Brian Taff reports during Action News at 4:30 p.m. on June 14, 2017. (WPVI)
    Wednesday, June 14, 2017 06:30PM
A man was able to walk away after a car slammed through a restaurant and pinned him against the wall.
Surveillance video from inside the restaurant in Arizona shows the moment car came barreling through the window and directly hit Blair Robertson.
Robertson is a psychic, but he says he didn't see this coming.
"A lot of times we can't even read our own lives and that's just how it works," he said.
Robertson was eating lunch with a friend at the time, who is also a psychic.
Somehow both were able to walk away from the incident with minor injuries.
At this time its unclear what caused the driver to slam into the restaurant.

I walked 4700 Steps during today's walk. The temperature this morning was 65 on the news channel and 68 degrees on the front porch. The reported humidity is 100% and when I looked out the Living Room window before walking, the street was wet except under trees where it was dry, thus the rain that had fallen must have been light so far. The weatherman is predicting spotty rain and Thunderstorms for NJ :(

Ominous signs for states as revenue targets missed
By Reid Wilson - 06/15/17 10:00 AM EDT
Two out of every three states in America took in less tax revenue than expected this year, the worst performance since the depths of the recession, and twenty states expect to address budget shortfalls in the coming year.

The new data, contained in three reports released by state budget analysts this week, raise concerns that states could face a new round of belt-tightening — and that another economic slowdown could be just around the corner.

The reports cite a variety of factors behind the revenue slowdowns, from falling commodity prices to the rising costs of government services. Some of the slowdown also likely comes from wealthy taxpayers and corporations, which have delayed some tax payments until next year in hopes that tax reform proposals will pass Congress.

Thirty-three states will miss revenue projections in Fiscal Year 2017, according to the National Association of State Budget Officers. That’s the highest number of states to miss revenue targets since 2010, during the middle of the recession, when 36 states missed projections.

In total, states anticipate revenues falling short by $12 billion. Most of the shortfall comes from sales tax collections, which are projected to be down $6.6 billion. That troubles some economists because sales taxes are traditionally the most stable revenue sources for states.

I walked 29 Steps during today's walk according to the FitBit :)
To explain why, I noticed before I left that the display was off so I changed the battery and as a result the clock was off and showing 12:11 so I am theorizing that while I was out it was recording and then when I powered up the computer it synchronized the time and said, Oh, look it is a new day and the step count for today started fresh with the steps I had done walking be credited to Saturdays count :)
The temperature this morning was 70 on the news channel and 71 degrees on the front porch with 100% humidity. Last year, while visiting national parks in Colorado, I happened upon a real treat: Star Drive In, an outdoor theater that opened in 1955 in the southern part of the state. But my delight didn’t end there.

Next door, I found the Best Western Movie Manor Motel, where you can look out a big window and watch the Star’s outdoor screen … from your bed! Each room is named for a movie star. Booking a night at the motel was a no-brainer. I checked into my no-frills Mel Gibson room and crawled into bed for the feature.

According to Wheeler Winston Dixon, a film expert at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, the first drive-ins appeared in 1933 in Camden, N.J. They hit their peak midcentury with about 4,000 locations, roughly one-quarter of the nation’s total movie screens. Now, he says, they account for just 1.5 percent.

The race has dragged on for months — Ossoff narrowly missed a chance to win outright in April, running against a multi-candidate GOP field and coming a few thousand votes short of the necessary 50 percent threshold — and it's become by far the most expensive House race ever waged, with Ossoff raising an astonishing $23.8 million, most of it from outside the district.

Five things to watch for in Georgia's special election
ALPHARETTA, Ga. — Months of attacks and tens of millions of dollars have led up to Tuesday’s special election in Georgia, where Democrats are looking for their first major election victory of the Trump era.

President Trump’s shadow has loomed large over the race. The Democratic push to frame a victory for Jon Ossoff as proof of a growing anti-Trump wave has nationalized the race. All that attention has drawn almost $60 million of spending from both sides — a record for a House race — into the suburban Atlanta district.

But as Democrats angle for an upset, Republicans in Georgia and across the country have fallen in line around their own candidate, Karen Handel. The GOP knows losing a red seat would be disastrous for their agenda, but they are just as aware that a Democratic loss would deal a heavy blow to the opposition’s momentum.

Polls open in Georgia at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. Here are five things to watch as results roll in from the 6th District.

Will the huge turnout trend continue?
Will GOP strongholds and white women save Handel?
Can Ossoff flip Republican moderates and turn out black voters?
    Can Democrats keep outperforming Clinton?

While Democrats have failed to flip any Republican seats in special elections this year, they have seen one promising trend — candidates keep outperforming Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s 2016 margins.
What does the vote mean for Trump’s agenda?
Hmm, Details if interested by following the Link.

I walked 7674 Steps AKA 3.44 miles according to the FitBit + 0 Cents during today's walk :) I have been listening to Agatha Christie Audio-books or Dramatizations for radio of the ones I could not find as Audio-books.
The temperature this morning was 65 on the news channel and 66 degrees on the front porch with a decent humidity level.

Yesterday, Wednesday, I did a test on Chinese Food for lunch. I had the Snow Peas, String Beans and Broccoli Diet meal withe the sauce on the side, I ended up not using the sauce. I got two meals out of the Veges due to the amount of them. I passed the Rice to My Brother to use if he wants to use it if not It goes from the refrigerator into the garbage for the next pickup. I also had a small order of the Bone in Spare Ribs, 5 Ribs and Tasty too and a Egg Roll. For Dinner I had the other half of the Veges and a 100 calorie Protein shake and nothing else. Today by skipping the pint of rice that comes with the "Diet Dinner" I was OK on the scale and am not feeling the effects of the heat like I would with the rice. Why Rice with the meal comes to mind FWIW.

I could not believe we could not find Sticky Fly Ribbons locally, however after searching Multiple places my Brother found non. So off to Amazon...

I walked some Steps, The Dew Point is in the 70s and it was 77 degrees on the porch and the weather report on TV at 6AM and not comfortable, As I did not get a good nights sleep either taken altogether I did not go to far. I came home and laid down for a while and am now feeling somewhat better. Thunderstorms in the forecast too :(
Yesterday I ended up close to 12K steps for the day.

Any Stephen King fans out there?

Spike TV has started running a series based on the Mist Thursday nights at 10. The first episodes next showing is Saturday at 4PM and others showed up in the Guide when I looked. The Movie from 2007 is also showing on IFC Sunday at 11:15PM.
The Mist is a 2007 American science-fiction horror film based on the 1980 novella of the same name by Stephen King.

On Wednesday, when I did a test on Chinese Food for lunch. The Snow Peas, String Beans and Broccoli Diet meal with the sauce on the side and a small order of Bone In Spare Ribs...
That seemed to work OK as I was down in weight on Thursday and held the same weight today. That weight FWIW is lower than when I went to Harold's last Friday so Yea!

We could not find the Sticky Fly Ribbons we thought we had left so I ordered them from Amazon. When I unpacked them that is when I found the Old ones :) Actually they had been hidden by the quarts of 1% milk on the shelf :( Yesterday I picked up 5 kinds of fruit and 2 quarts of the Milk since I had put the last on in the refrigerator to become nicely chilled. The ones I bought are good on the shelf until April 18, 2018.

    From the Chicago Tribune
    http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/columnists/kass/ct-dissolving-illinois-kass-met-20170620-column.html
What to do with a broken Illinois: Dissolve the Land of Lincoln
    John Kass Reporter Chicago Tribune
    June 20, 2017
Illinois is like Venezuela now, a fiscally broken state that has lost its will to live, although for the moment, we still have enough toilet paper.

But before we run out of the essentials, let's finally admit that after decade upon decade of taxing and spending and borrowing, Illinois has finally run out of other people's money.

Those "other people" include taxpayers who've abandoned the state. And now Illinois faces doomsday.

So as the politicians meet in Springfield this week for another round of posturing and gesturing and blaming, we need a plan.

    And here it is:

Dissolve Illinois. Decommission the state, tear up the charter, whatever the legal mumbo-jumbo, just end the whole dang thing.

We just disappear. With no pain. That's right. You heard me.

The best thing to do is to break Illinois into pieces right now. Just wipe us off the map. Cut us out of America's heartland and let neighboring states carve us up and take the best chunks for themselves.

Illinois hasn't had a state budget for years. The state continues to spend money it doesn't have, and the state's credit ratings have dropped, increasing the cost of borrowing more money we don't have to keep the rotten shebang going.

Bills pile up; Moody's Investor Service says taxpayers are on the hook for $251 billion in unfunded public union pension liabilities.

    WOW

    Have a Great Friday

I decided not to go walking for several reasons . I Had a poor nights sleep as I kept having my sleep interrupted by waves of rain hitting the window AC. Then when I did get up I turned on the local Cable news Channel and the weather radar is showing heavy rain headed my way. Not to far south there is a Tornado warning and the weatherman was saying the the radar is showing the classic hook shape indicating a tornado could be on the ground. Just now the radio is saying that the radar is looking better so that the warning has been cancelled. However High winds with winds up to 70 MPH are indicated.

The temperature this morning was 72 on the news channel and 73 degrees on the front porch with rain.

I did some walking today and I will be going out shortly to do the mowing which should give me my exercise for the day. The temperature this morning was 70 on the news channel and 66 degrees on the front porch with a decent humidity level.

You would think the day off on Saturday would help, Oh well, Maybe if I had slept better last night :)
Tomorrow is a D Day, Doctors visit with fasting. That will throw my entire morning off. Normally I get up, drink a protein shake, walk, have a banana on the return home and then later Breakfast. I am thinking of not going walking ahead of the Doctors visit sine my plan is to walk up there and then get coffee for the return leg as well as looking at the Fruits in the nearby Produce store and Grocery Store. Since that is the plan I will take the back pack when I head out.

There may have been a Tornado in south Jersey, It sure looked like one in the cellphone video that was shown on the news. It had not been confirmed by the National Weather Service as of last night however.

The News reports are full of IMO poor grammar. As an example yesterday in NYC there was a drive by shooting where the driver and the passenger were both hit. The news report said "The Driver Somehow managed to drive to the Police Precinct". It would have made just as much sense if they had said that "The Driver managed to drive to the Police Precinct". IMO the Somehow was completely redundant :(

    Have a Really Good Sunday

    Hi
I have not walked today, I will be walking later on when I walk to the doctors and then go look at the fruit in two different locations. I figure that will give me my exercise for the day, just later than usual :)
The temperature this morning was 66 on the news channel and 63 degrees on the front porch with a decent humidity level still.

Whoopee, I have been holding the same weight for 5 days now :) This is good as I am within the range I want to be for weight.

I have started cooking some Hamburger meat to a well done level as a PF for later on, the rest of the Family Pack of it is in the refrigerator freezer section.
The Laundry is washing and hopefully will be dried and folded before I leave around 9:15 AM.

    Have a Great Monday

Supreme Court Rules in Favor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Case with Religious Freedom Implications,
The Supreme Court ruled 7-2 Monday in favor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Trinity Lutheran v. Comer, a case with national religious freedom implications that involved a denied grant application for playground resurfacing.

The case began in 2012 when Trinity Lutheran Church applied for a Missouri Department of Natural Resources state grant meant to help public and private schools, nonprofit daycare centers, and other nonprofit entities buy rubber playground surfaces made from recycled tires.

The grant application was denied because the Department had a provision in place that "no money shall ever be taken from the treasury, directly or indirectly, in aid of any church, sect, or denomination of religion." The Supreme Court ruled today that this state policy violates the rights of Trinity Lutheran under the Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment.

Chief Justice Roberts explains in his opinion that “the Free Exercise Clause ‘protects' religious observers against unequal treatment’ and subjects to the strictest scrutiny laws that target the religious for ‘special disabilities” based on their ‘religious status.’”

“Applying that basic principle,” he writes, “this Court has repeatedly confirmed that denying a generally available benefit solely on account of religious identity imposes a penalty on the free exercise of religion that can be justified only by a state interest ‘of the highest order.’”

Roberts acknowledges that the consequence of the state’s decision is “in all likelihood, a few extra scraped knees,” but concludes “the exclusion of Trinity Lutheran from a public benefit for which it is otherwise qualified, solely because it is a church, is odious to our Constitution all the same, and cannot stand.”

On Minimum Wage, Basic Economics Again Rudely Intrudes on Liberal Dreams Jun 26, 2017 2:25 PM
Seattle's $15-an-hour minimum wage law has cost the city jobs, according to a study released Monday that contradicted another new study published last week. A University of Washington team studying the law's effects found that the law has boosted pay in low-wage jobs since it took effect in 2015, but that it also caused a 9 percent reduction in hours worked, The Seattle Times reported. For an average low-wage Seattle worker, that's a loss of about $125 per month, the study said. "If you're a low-skilled worker with one of those jobs, $125 a month is a sizable amount of money," said Mark Long, one of the authors. "It can be the difference between being able to pay your rent and not being able to pay your rent." There would be about 5,000 more low-wage jobs in the city without the law, the study estimated...in the years covered by the study, 2015 and 2016, the minimum wage was at most $13, depending on business size, worker benefits and tips.

In other words, even before the full $15-per-hour mandate was phased in, thousands of jobs were killed, and low-wage workers' hours were significantly reduced -- taking money out of their pockets. Behold, the (ahem) wages of "fairness." A rival study conducted by a progressive, pro-union organization was commissioned by the Seattle Mayor's office (after preliminary data from UW's respected, nonpartisan team of economists appeared politically unhelpful to the city's policy), predictably declaring the move a big success. Unsurprisingly, it is being criticized as bought-and-paid-for propaganda. Its liberal authors are counter-attacking by alleging that the more credible study by mainstream economists is methodologically flawed, drawing this strong rebuke: "When we perform the exact same analysis as the Berkeley team, we match their results, which is inconsistent with the notion that our methods create bias," one UW professor noted. It turns out that when you raise the cost of creating new jobs and sustaining existing ones, fewer jobs are created, and employers find ways to stay in business. Hardest hit are low-skilled, would-be workers looking to get a foot in the door -- as well as low-income workers whose hours were slashed after the government artificially mandated a spike in their hourly pay. Based on the data, the harm outweighed the benefits:

Democratic Voter Fraud: Liberal Student Sentenced For Registering Dead People To Vote
    Posted: Jun 27, 2017 11:00 AM
A James Madison University student and Virginia native is facing at least 100 days in prison after a Virginia district court found him guilty of submitting 18 fabricated voter registration forms.

Andrew Spieles is an employee of Harrisonburg Votes, an organization affiliated with the Democratic Party. Starting in 2016, his job was to register as many voters in Virginia as possible, and track their information, CNSNews reports:

“...After filling out a registration form for a voter, Spieles entered the information into a computer system used by the Virginia Democratic Party to track information such as name, age, address and political affiliation...Every Thursday an employee/volunteer hand-delivered the paper copies of the registration forms to the Registrar’s Office in Harrisonburg.”

The Registrar’s office caught on to Spieles’s scheme when they noticed that many of the names on voter registration forms belonged to deceased community members. The office also noticed inaccurate names, social security numbers and birth dates on registration forms. It became abundantly clear that these forms were not new voter registration.

. He confessed to stealing information from the Virginia Democratic Party’s “walk sheets,” taking names, addresses and ages at random from the data. He also disclosed that he forged fake social security numbers.

    Hmm...

    Have a Great Thursday

CNN's Van Jones: Russian Collusion Story Is A 'Big Nothing Burger'
On Tuesday, James O’ Keefe’s Project Veritas released a video showing CNN producer John Bonifield admitting that the whole Russian collusion story is “mostly bulls**t,” and that the network pushes it for ratings. Since the inauguration, Russia has been mentioned in CNN’s coverage of the Trump White House 15,694 times. There is zero evidence that there was any collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian intelligence operatives during the 2016 election. None. Every update has yielded nothing further other than we have no evidence of collusion or wrongdoing. Now, you have CNN’s Van Jones telling a Project Veritas reporter that the Russia story is a “nothing burger.”
PV Reporter: What do you think is going to happen this week with the whole Russia thing?
Van Jones: The Russia thing is just a big nothing burger
    PV Reporter: Really?
    Jones: Yeah.
PV Reporter: You don’t think that…
Jones: There’s nothing there you can do.
Since Hillary Clinton’s upset loss to Donald Trump, the Democratic Party has used Russia as a crutch to avoid an extensive introspective autopsy on why they lost. The mindset seems to be: it’s not possible that our ideas suck, it’s just that the rest of the country is wrong—also, Russia. Democrats have wasted so much time on this story that they haven’t crafted an economic message, which they lacked in 2016, and that’s impacted their party in the special elections held this year. Not a single Democrat has won. With the recent defeat of Jon Ossoff in GA-06, they’re 0-4. It’s come to the point where some Democrats are realizing that they’re becoming distracted with the Russia probe. Voters simply don’t care—and that’s becoming explicitly clear to the slate of Democrats running in the midterms next year. A new Harvard-Harris poll notes that 64 percent feel that the Russia investigation is hurting the country, with 56 percent saying it’s time for Congress to move on to more important issues.

    Hmm...

    Have a Great Friday

P.S. You may have gotten from today's post that I have no use for CNN, TBH I have no use for any of the News Broadcasts be they from CNN or Fox...
