Tuesday - I appear to have the plague...spent all day sleeping...no working out...not much eating either at least, so I should still be ok on calories...

Wednesday - feeling much better, did 15 min of combat in the morning and sweat way too much, way out of proportion to the amount of effort I was putting in...walked at lunch, planned to just do 2.5 miles, but was feeling very peppy so did the full 3.1 I normally do...by evening I was a bit tired, so I didn't do any additional workouts, just went to bed early.

Thursday - no morning workout, too tired, walked on a break and during ballet, then completed ab ripper and started weights that evening but was suddenly overcome with exhaustion during weights...normally I might try to push through, but since I'm still getting over the plague I figured it was better to listen to my body and stop...some working out is better than none and I don't want to stress my recovering immune system...so at least I feel like I'm starting to get back to normal...by next week I'm sure I'll be back up to speed!!!

Just realized I never posted December's schedule - standard Beast month 3 with my normal extras thrown in...still pretty aggressive, but hopefully not boring...

I said it last month and I'll say it again this one, your workout schedule is crazy. I strive to have even half of the motivation you show day in and day out.

Well, the red ones are optional, but I consider a morning, noon and night workout a requirement...when I'm healthy anyway...I'd like to work up to that 4th one consistently, but it's taking time to get there...as long as I'm still trying I'm happy with any progress made!!!

Friday was pretty good - walked on my breaks, walked during ballet, completed leg weights (light weights so as not to overdo it), and got some hogwarts work done. Food was not on plan, way too many carbs and ice cream for dinner, delicious, but not exactly nutritious! Tomorrow I will focus more on quality food!

Saturday was a bit lazy, did some hogwarts work and walked.

Sunday was hard, 3 beast workouts, the weights I skipped on sat plus the two planned for sun...still didn't get in anything other than beast, but that's ok since that's my main focus this month.

started the week off right with my morning workout today - I love it when a plan comes together

Monday - what a great way to start the week...combat in the morning...walking on breaks and at lunch...weights in the evening...according to my food diary I didn't eat enough, but I actually splurged and had some chocolate and FELT like I was super full most of the day...I am a bit overly hungry today, so good thing I packed extra lunch...

we have a gingerbread house contest at work, so last night I started decorating that.

Oh, and today is my birthday so I'm having a home cooked meal courtesy of my mother, and I'm delighted not to be the one who has to cook it!!!

Tuesday - overslept a bit and didn't have time for my 30 min workout, but did 10 min of hogwarts work...only managed one break and cut my lunch walk a bit short, it was raining and I had to walk indoors and it was way too crowded once lunchtime got into full swing...hit costco for groceries on the way home, not exactly fun in the rain, then had a great birthday dinner with my family...and managed to get in some stretching when I got home...all in all a super day and so happy to be feeling back to normal though I still have a bit of residual cough.

Wednesday - kind of a lazy day...combat in the morning, and walking at lunch...then I ate a ton of sushi and drank wine, so never did get around to an evening workout beyond a little bit of hogwarts stuff...but I enjoyed Elementary and the Chernobyl Diaries and hanging out with the family.

Thursday - started off right, ab ripper in the morning, walking on breaks and lunches, however then I ended up on the phone for 3 hours reminiscing with a friend...the holidays are tough when you are missing loved ones...didn't get to bed until after midnight, but it was worth it.

Tiffany, so sorry I was not around to wish you a happy birthday to a beautiful, motivating one heck of a role model for me at least. I hope your day was amazing and you got everything you wanted.

    Thanks Cari!!!

Let's see, I didn't check in at all this weekend...

Friday - day was good, walking on breaks, walking during ballet, and legs that evening...I did skip the split leg deadlifts since my lower back was already totally aggravated from shark week and that one always stresses my lower back even on a good day.

Saturday - crazy busy, running everywhere all day long and didn't eat anything except half an avocado all day until finally got home at like 9:30pm...walked during ballet, got some hogwarts work done, and then did some combat, I was up really late getting the workouts in, but I was totally wired from having such a late dinner anyway so it was good.

Sunday - still a busy day, but I actually sat around when I had a chance instead of keeping moving like I probably should have...did make deviled eggs and had a salad for dinner, plus managed to fit in CVX (cardio + weights) one of the more fun workouts, but way hard, panting and sweating like crazy the whole time...plus, shark week is done, the best part of every month, when that mess is over!

Monday - kind of a slow tired day...didn't get up in time for morning workout...did walk at lunch and on breaks...did some hogwarts work when I got home, but did not do my weights...

I did manage to start a fire and it kept all night, and my food was on point, but just dragging in the energy department.

Tuesday - did awesome on my workouts, morning, noon, and evening, just as scheduled...BUT...pulled something in my lower back doing beast cardio, so I'm a little big crippled today...luckily today is a stretching day anyway...and so far it's just sore and a little twingey...

Wednesday - yesterday was a constant 6 regarding pain level...managed some walking, which actually helped and made my back loosen up a bit...and some stretching which helped also...all the sitting at work is killing my back more than anything, it was nice to get home so I could alternate sitting, laying, walking, and stretching...went to bed early and tried to stay on point for nutrition, but I did get into my birthday fudge a bit...oh food, thou art comforting...it did upset my stomach since I don't eat sugar much, and that helped keep me from overindulging.

Thursday - pain level started at about a 4...went to the chiro - I'm in LOVE, she's amazing and by the end of the appt I was walking and moving without pain...at least, until I had to sit in my car, sitting is still not pleasant, but even then, only about a 2 until I have to sit for a long time, then it gets back up to about a 4...didn't go back to work, after being pain free finally the though of an hour of being in pain to get back to work was too much, so I went home where I was free to stand/walk/lay down and spend the afternoon without hurting (including jumping my husband, twice, I so missed that for the few days I was hurting)...then had to get in the car to take the girl to ballet, sitting in the car was not pleasant, but I got some christmas shopping wrapped up while she was in class, and some walking in...then a nice hot shower and off to bed...I go back for another adjustment on Monday, can't wait to feel that awesome again!!!

So sorry you're in pain Tiffany. Aleve works wonders in strained backs. Maybe if can take it, it might help some. Hope the pain is at a level 0 soon for you.

I have been taking feverfew 2x/day for pain/inflamation...it helps...I'm contemplating trying yoga out tonight, will play it by ear...also scaling back the schedule for January, less weights, more stretching and core!

The January schedule - usually I push to get in all my workouts, but this will be more play it by ear and for goodness sake don't overdo it - I scaled back the weights to a maintenance level, beefed up the core and stretching, those will be what I consider my critical workouts since they will do the most to stabilize and support my healing back - and I removed all cardio that involved jumping, and I will be liberal with reducing intensity on the cardio if needed...it's a goal, I gotta have some kind of a goal or I just don't get anything done...

Friday - I did do yoga and walking, yoga was incredibly slow on the sun salutations because bending forward is still a challenge, but slow or not, I got it done and it totally helped my back feel better so I seemed to sleep better afterward - there were lots of pops and cracks during the routine, so I think that was a good sign that it was needed.

Saturday - crazy busy day, family pictures were cancelled due to icy roads, helped a friend move - mostly I showed up with husband and teenagers in tow and they did all the heavy lifting, but I did help clean after the apartment was empty, so there was some light activity I was able to contribute, then walked some during ballet - today was the first day I sneezed and it wasn't followed by intense agony, so my back is totally getting better!

Sunday - good day, lots of walking and yoga, plus a huge amount of cookie baking and NO cookie eating, wasn't even that tempted!!!

Monday - walked at lunch, that was it for exercise, but we did cookie decorating at mom's and I didn't eat any cookies...I did chow down on the chips and dip, so it wasn't a total win...and thanks to the salty chips I'm up 4 lbs today...

First note - now that Hogwarts is over and the next term hasn't started, I find myself less motivated to track food and exercise, bad Tiffy!

Tuesday was good - walked at lunch and on breaks, and that was pretty much it for exercise. Nutcracker performance that night, so I did a ton of standing and moving, but no deliberate exercise.

Wednesday we visited family 2 hours away and my back was very tolerant of the car ride and all the sitting/standing associated with hanging out with family. I was good with the lunch food, deviled eggs didn't last past lunch however, which left me with italian for dinner (meat and gluten), so delicious, but so not agreeing with me, I only had small amounts. I also managed to take my herbal concoctions when I got home and avoid the migraine - next time with any luck I'll remember to pack them and be able to take them with dinner.

Thursday - unhappy tummy all day from Wed dinner and didn't really eat at all until about 5pm, but, I did manage half an hour of combat in the morning, kicking knee height only and skipping the one section that has 219 kicks per leg...plus, watched the Nutcracker which was a great performance as usual!!! Then celebrated my husband's birthday dinner with sushi and wine!!!

It's been an awesome couple of days, but definitely way off my normal schedule and I have not been diligent about tracking at all!

Friday - Monday - no working out, lots of good food and plenty of alcohol

up 7 lbs as of Tuesday morning, but I'm guessing much of that is water and will come back off shortly...lets see what I can get to for new year (before I start drinking)!
