Pam..I take Coldeze zinc tablets as soon as I start a cold. It shortens the duration. The only I plan to do which could qualify as a resolution is to walk more. DH and I bought walking shoes just before we headed south. There's a bike path right across the street from the house so we plan to make use of it. DH is supposed to walk for exercise so I'm going to join him. He's more likely to do it with company. I need the company as well to motivate me to do it as well.

How nice that you were able to visit with your cousin. We arrived at my brother's house tonight. It was 10 hours of travel. We made a few short stops at the rest areas and hit bad traffic twice because of accidents. I was so glad to get here. We'll be here until next Friday and then we'll head to FL.

Maryanne--You certainly can pick great pics! I think I need to save that one! Love the new year's resolutions by cats also.

Pam--Doing PT exercises at home is harder than people might think. It really takes motivation to do them, and I've found myself starting to slack knowing that I'm not going back to professional PT.

Helene--Walking is a great exercise and doing it with DH benefits both of you.

The last quarter of the year was a challenging one. I guess tomorrow is the start of a new thread.

Jean, I love the celebrating cat. It's too bad you and Pam couldn't Face Time or Skype to do your PT exercises at the same time. You could be exercise buddies to encourage and motivate each other to stick with it. We don't have much planned for today except some R&R.
    Maryanne..The cat resolutions are priceless!

That could be my treadmill some days (except mine usually has only one cat on it).

Maryanne--Love the treadmill graphic. Resolutions?? I don't do them. I've learned the best intentions disappear after about a month.

I guess I should make a move to start a new thread. I've debated continuing the quarterly approach (more easily accomplished goals) versus six months versus a year. It looks as if we have 300-400 posts in each quarter. What do you prefer?

I'm really starting the New Year off "right." I was up at 5am, so I spent an hour reviewing different items I was considering buying for "New Year New Me" (ha, ha).

I finally decided upon the item and then a promo materialized which said I could save $30 if I would tell Alexa to order it for me. Since I have an Echo, I decided to try it. After all, $30 saved is $30 that can be used elsewhere.

Alexa understood me perfectly, so the item is on its way.

    Happy New Year!!

I see QVC's today's special value is a nutrisystem plan. Pretty chintzy. Fast 5 and 15 other days of meals.

Jean - we're pretty prolific in posting aren't we? Quarterly is fine but if starting a thread is a hassle make it longer! I always go to the end anyway.

DH is off to visit his siblings (or at least the ones still living) with their Christmas gifts.

My day will be a lot less exciting. Feed the colonies and then work and do chores.

I do plan to stop at Petsmart to get a couple things for Indy. My expectation is that our new daughter will be here Wednesday. She'll start off in the "big cage".

Jean - that's pretty interesting about the promo that popped up. I heard a brief piece on the news the other night about the potential use of those gadgets in criminal trials. Apparently those devices capture snippets of sound in "the cloud" that both police and defense attorneys are interested in exploring.

Maryanne--I got my NS start with a QVC "Weekends Off" plan. I have to say that the materials included did a better job of explaining how to use it and how to select foods than the NS website or included materials did when I switched. I remember that I lost 12 pounds in the first month with the QVC version. The only problem with that plan is that you can't choose your foods.

Happy New Year everyone! I'm hoping for a much happier and healthier 2017, with much less pain and much more fun than 2016.

Jean, I'm OK with just continuing on the same thread. Like Maryanne, I always just go to the last page anyway, so I don't see a need to start a new thread periodically. But I'll go along with whatever the rest of you want to do.

DH is starting a three week Daniel Fast today, which is basically three weeks of a vegan diet. His church does this every January. I don't adhere to it as closely as he does, but I try to cooperate on the meals we eat together, usually dinner. Last year he was unable to do it due to my injury because our many friends were bringing us meals and we didn't want to impose the fast's rules on them, so this year he is determined to do a better job of it. I get bored with it pretty quickly, unfortunately. I'm such a carnivore -- a vegan or vegetarian diet would never be my choice long-term.

Pam--Thanks for the input but you posted just as I posted the new thread. The three week fast sounds interesting. I'm with you as I like my meats at least once a day.
