Hi Fall Fun members. Two?? I would like to introduce myself in my Team 2 thread and TAG @MissionEnforcer, how is that done? And I would like to login Spread sheets, I've have the Google app loaded and used it for the Spring Amazing Race to log but I am unable to at this time? Can I get to it from our spreadsheets? Or go right to the app? I appreciate any help with this, thank you.0

Does yoga and the minutes we do for stretching before and after, our exercises, count too!
However, there is a 1000 minute/player/week cap on how many exercise minutes (miles) a player can put on the spreadsheet. Minutes will still count in the player rankings. This is to try to make sure all racers pull their own weight (pun not intended) .2 -
Just a quick note from one on the wait list - happy to join Team 5 or 6 as I have friends in both lol1

I wondered about that new column with the 1000 minute max!0

One thing I am a little confused about my main form of exercise is walking, so if I walk say 1 hour a day, is that 60 minute/miles or my actual miles I walked (3 or 4) I am thinking 60 minutes/miles. Thanks0

Since it is optional anyway, I'm assuming I can post my weights from Fridays rather than Mondays, since that is my for record weigh in days. Hopefully that is correct.Everything outside your normal routine counts, including all forms of exercise, walking your dog or even vigorously gardening or cleaning the house.
Good thing anything outside my "normal routine" counts, might mean my house actually gets cleaned during this event...

Some teams last race, had members that were contributing (at times), well over 20% of their team's total exercise minutes. Complacency, despondency, and yes, even acrimony, seemed to set in for some of the other players and teams.
So, in an effort to foster greater individual contributions (as well as trying to keep the "overachievers" from killing themselves), we figured we'd give this "1000 minute per week thing" a shot. This applies to the total weekly individual's "Team Minutes" only. Individual's actual totals will still be displayed in a separate column, and will be fully applied to the two "Power Ranking" Spreadsheets, as in the previous race.6 -

How do you tag Missioninforcer and is this only for the post about introducing ourselves/where we live? I introduced myself and said where I live in the same post.
Thanks!0 -
@hawkins410 @MissionEnforcer Not a question, but I just want to say that having the link to everyone in the team roster really helped in adding to our friends list. It was so much quicker. thank you for that!6

@belle_reve9, when a challenge calls for MissionEnforcer to be tagged, you do it in your team's thread.2

@hawkins410 I'm not sure if this has been asked previously, but do warm liquids (i.e. tea, coffee, soup) count towards our fluid intake for the challenge? Today I've drank a 1L of coffee and used about 500ml of water in some homemade soup, but not sure if these count. Also referred to this article, but not sure how you want to treat it: http://www.discovergoodnutrition.com/2012/09/plain-water-get-your-8-glasses-a-day/0

I don't suppose this is something you would reconsider then? Given the time of year and now that temperatures are dropping, it is much more desirable to drink warm fluids instead of cold (especially here in Norway where it was -22.3 °C at it's coldest in my town last year). I've been looking up different articles and contrary to belief, coffee and tea are not 'diuretics' nor do they cause dehydration. As long as you're not consuming more than 400mg of caffiene (eight cups of tea / four-five cups of coffee) each day then it's not an issue. They also have antioxidant properties. I think as long as you're consuming enough fluids, regardless of whether hot or cold, then it's fine as you're giving your body the necessary hydration either way. It shouldn't really matter if / how it's been diluted.

If you don't agree with this then it's fine, but I just wanted to challenge it as I believe it should be considered on the basis of information and studies available.1 -
@Meowler: I discussed this with @MissionEnforcer and we agree that this is a water challenge. I specifically chose it for the first week's challenge before the temps drop too low. It looks like Oslo is about 43 F today (not very close to -22.3 C), so as long as you consume your water indoors, you should be fine. As suggested earlier, consuming at least 8 ounces as soon as you wake up will help you get off to a great start! Sorry to disappoint you, and I understand your viewpoint, but a "challenge" is sometimes a "challenge"!5

No worries! Thank you for considering it anyway. I didn't mean to imply that temperatures were that low at the moment, but just wanted to give you an idea of how low it will be getting quite soon. We've already had our first sprinkling of snow, although it didn't stick around for too long! Will certainly be challenging myself to drink those 2.3L of water. Thank you!2 -

Just wanted to check: what's the stance on diluting juice?1
