Finally on the board with 14 miles out of 200.

Adding 8 miles for 22 out of 200.

Adding 14 miles for 36 out of 200.

Adding 14 more miles for 50 out of 200

Adding 14 more miles for 64 out of 200. What are the odds I would get 14 miles three days in a row. Truth be told, it was 14.1, 14.3 and 14.2 but I'm in to rounding to even numbers so I can do the math (most of the time).

Adding 21 miles for 85 out of 200.

Adding 12 miles for 97 out of 200.

Adding 12 miles for 109 out of 200.

Adding 20 miles for 129 out of 200.

Adding 14 miles for 143 out of 200.

Adding 11 miles for 154 out of 200.

Adding 15 miles for 169 out of 200

adding 13 miles for 182 out of 200.

Adding 29 miles for 211 out of 200. GOAL!!!

    Adding 21 miles for 232

    Adding 12 miles for 244.

    Adding 19 miles for 263.

    Adding 21 miles for 284.

4.2 miles, I actually ran two outside, straight down the main road of my subdivision, I forgot how hilly it was. And how long the trip is back, when you decide to walk it.

@CLEPANT - Looks like you hit a major milestone of 15,000 MYAC miles!! :drinker: I hope your knee heals quickly and with some time and the right mix of things, it will allow you to run shorter distances again.

Let's try this again. @k80flec: Congrats on your first 10k run. You should be very proud of your accomplishment and not be concerned about your time. You finished what you set out to do. That has always been my running goal. My hubby will always say so if you had a goal what would it be and I always tell him to complete my race without injury. Some people get really wrapped up in PR's and in reality you can never predict how things will turn out. You can do everything right and have a bad run. Just like my weekend training run. It all went wrong and I did a lot of walking to get through it...yet the week before was great. Weather, how you feel, race conditions all play a part. As Janet said, did you have fun and do you want to do it again? I sign up for races so I have a goal of just getting to the starting line. It keeps me focused on working for something. Keep running and remember how many people never even get off the sofa and start. You are awesome.

@Dave and Janet: Thanks for encouraging words. And Dave I did not realize I hit 15,0000. That made my day and you gave me a new color to boot.

@clepant, living with aches & pains sure isn't fun! We are at an age when we want to do these things for our health but now can't do them cuz they cause pain to our health! ironic huh? I'm going to get my knee checked out by a specialist ( a suggestion of my chiropractor). He is thinking there is a tear. LOVELY! You have been so diligent with your runs that your body may need a much needed rest! take care.

I did get in that treadmill walk tonight (3 miles).

@clepant and @JTH11706 - thank you for your kind and encouraging words.... indeed my goal was to finish (hopefully not last). I booked a sports massage for the 27th to deal with any problems AND there were none!! The training paid off. I now need to plan my next 10K and I'm going to start a 10m training plan ..... just because.

I do have my next race booked for March 18th - a 5K trail race in the Lake District. It will be wet and muddy (oh and hard work!)

AND Bah Humbug to the orthopaedic consultant who was concerned about my getting past 5K because of ankle surgery as teenager (the root of all my running injuries). It just goes to show what a structured approach can achieve.

ETA .... and @clepant - don't rush the knee. Plenty of cycling will be a poor substitute for running .... but I find it challenging and even fun ..... sometimes.

@k80flec - you just made my day. I am so glad you are ready to do another 10k and even a 10m. As to your time, I thought of something I'd like to add - not just for you but for all of us out there who worry about not being fast enough. Your running pace is like how much money you have - you can always want to be faster or richer, but no matter how fast you get you will never be Usain Bolt and no matter how rich you are you'll never be Bill Gates. So stop driving yourself nuts about all the people who are faster and richer and be grateful that you're not slower or poorer!

Also, to Clepant's words - the most important thing is that you got to the starting line. Over the years I've really appreciated this quote, "The miracle isn't that I finished. The miracle is that I had the courage to start."

As for me, it's very humid here today so I decided not to run. I rode my bike to the post office instead - 7 miles round trip. That finishes the month with 110/75. See you in March!
