I too only log the miles from steady walking-jogging-bike etc. If I logged from my fitbits daily total I'd be up close to lovemyalex LOL! Had 2 miles from TM yesterday & a kick @ss tabata class but today I was TIRED so intentional miles were not earned.

Question for anybody. Do you count your miles from walking throughout the day?
I chose not to. I just log the ones that are purposeful exercise, including laps I do around the halls at work when I have some downtime. I record the calories burned on those as well, whereas even morbidly obese, I would walk a lot at work but it's not exercise. This is just my opinion.

Question for anybody. Do you count your miles from walking throughout the day?
I've been through phases - I have set targets that 100% related to my Fitbit miles - but I decided that I needed to be more mindful. At the moment my target is based on planned activity - running, purposeful walking ... in a few months it will include cycling. BUT (excluding running) I don't count my purposeful walking if I DON'T hit 10K steps.

1st: 0 miles - MTD
2nd: 5.92 miles, 3.42m speed training, 2.5m purposeful walking - MTD 5.92
3rd: 1.75 miles, 0.75m TM, 1m purposeful walking, Pilates and strength training - MTD 7.67
4th: 8.75 miles, 3.12 running (Park Run), 5.63 purposeful walking- MTD 16.42
5th: 4 miles purposeful walking - MTD 20.42
6th: 0 miles, - MTD
7th: 9.65 miles, 5.15 club run, 4.5 purposeful walking - MTD 30.07
8th: 0 miles, childminding - MTD

I tried counting all fitbit miles (and raised my goal accordingly) but for me only counting purposeful miles is more motivating.
I'm at 29/75 after running this morning and doing bike errands in the afternoon. I count the riding to do errands because I choose to ride instead of driving. Sometimes when I need to get out I make up errands LOL.1 -
