Thanks so much everyone! I'm anxious for the blood work, too. I already promised myself not to be upset if cholesterol isn't that great because it's been over a year and a half since I had blood work done--though it was due to heavy menstrual cycles at the time and not an annual physical. So, if my cholesterol is still in not so great category, I won't know if it was higher before I started losing weight or not. KWIM? I'll just work on getting it lower should the results not be great. :-)0

Thank you. I almost worried I was going to get a lecture for losing 20 pounds in one month, but I didn't. Whew! I think my checkup probably saved me from one, to be honest. lol

My meal today was a delicious Chickpea Walnut Sandwich--improvised version of Chickpea Sunflower Sandwich from The Minimalist Baker website. I didn't have sunflowers so I chopped up some walnuts super fine and added them instead, I was out of red onion and tomatoes or the sandwich would have looked beautiful and appetizing. Thank goodness it turned out good with sweet onions instead, I used hummus for my spread and also added avocado. I also enjoyed some little watermelon "pizzas". I only briefly saw them in my newsfeed on FB yesterday, but I can't remember the name of the site. I used 1 TBSP of cream cheese to spread on all four "pizzas" and then added strawberries, blueberries and kiwi. The whole meal was filling and super awesome! :-)

We are gluttons for punishment, lol, since we both do the same darn thing! We KNOW that we are hungry, yet we just have to take a look, regardless.

Today's meal: Two breakfast burritos, courtesy of the hubby, with eggs, bacon, onions, mini colorful peppers, and potatoes with fire sauce and eaten with two whole wheat tortillas. I blended banana and cashew butter with chia seeds for a pudding topped with walnuts and dried cranberries to have with it. Very filling and yummy!
And my new duds! I've battled with low-self esteem my whole life. Yesterday, I couldn't buy anything from Lane Bryant because everything was too big. I lucked out at torrid though with their lowest two sizes of shorts (10) and tops (0). However, most of my clothing was bought at Old Navy and I cried happy tears because I have not been able to shop outside of big girl stores in over a decade! Not in a conceited way, mind you, but I feel pretty in my outfit! Top from Torrid and shorts from Old Navy! Have a Happy 4th of July to my fellow Americans and a great day to everyone else. :-)

Wow!! You look hot! I am super envious of your thighs - even though I can't see too much of them... Clothes are my weakness (well, shoes too!) and it's always the best feeling being able to fit into smaller sizes that actually make you look good rather than something that fits and covers you up!!0

@minigrrl, don't be envious, it's the lighting. I'm already seeing areas of loose skin. I can feel solid muscle under my thighs from the squats, but I don't know if I'll ever tighten the skin enough for those muscles to be noticeable. But, I still felt good enough to wear the shorts. Smaller sizes do indeed help make you feel better and more confident, even if not perfect.

I never have never woken up or gotten up from being unable to sleep at night to eat. Ever. Not even on my way to achieve fabulous obeseness. But, I went to bed super early last night due to sun fatigue, and found myself unable to sleep because the same two people in our neighborhood who've been setting off fireworks since last Friday pulled out their big illegals ones last night.
Anyway, I got up all pissed off and headed right for the snacks that are always in the house, but that I never give a second thought to. Mindless handfuls of pringles and flamin' hot cheetos and then a double chocolate Klondike bar found their way to my mouth and into my belly. Yuk!
I'm over it, I accept the fact that I still have stress eating issues that I thought were conquered--we've had much larger stressed over the past few months and I never even was tempted to eat because of them. I'll have to continue to work on this problem. My splurge will probably affect the scale Friday, but that's okay. I'll be fine and get over this small bump in the road and I shall prevail.0 -
I'm sure you'll prevail Sandy, it will take more than one little event like that to halt your progress.
But I have to ask what is that stuff doing in your house, Cheetos and Klondike bars? lol

And, lol, my husband is home, that's why those evil snacks are in the house. He's a supply boat captain in the Gulf of Mexico, 28 out/28 home. I don't keep them here when he's out, but I've never had this problem until last night. I even grab snacks for him or make him a bowl of ice cream and it doesn't phase me. Last night was a fluke and I hope not to repeat it. Lol

I sure will and I am beyond such events. It actually took a life long family friend of my mom's and my mom, to help me see that uncontrolled binge in a different light because when you go crazy like that, you forget the basics! And that's what I did, I automatically attributed to stress that I thought I had conquered (which after they chimed in, I believe I do have stress eating conquered)--Lifelong friend reminded me about body and metabolic confusion which are both good things that happen due to binges (and Joe says this in his videos and I know this *kitten*, but forgot) and then my mom brought up the fact that it can also be our body's way of saying that it needs more calories. I did two workouts yesterday morning, then my hubby and I went in the pool, then we had a huge, protein filled breakfast, went swimming again, then went to the golf course in 90 degree heat with unbearable humidity for four hours. A couple of hours after we got home, I felt a hungry but I told myself, "You've already had your big meal and enough calories for the day." So, I just drank water, though it did nothing to subdue the hunger pangs.
I am trying not to count calories so I can live with the healthy habits I'm implementing now, for the rest of my life. I don't want to get to goal and then try and figure it out or go back to old habits. So, I will give myself permission to eat healthy food outside of my meal IF it's true hunger. If I do like I did yesterday, I'm putting myself right back into dieter's prison and I don't want to live my life like that. Some days your body just needs more calories than others. My workouts are more intense now, and I'm more active than when I first started. I love food and refuse to starve myself--though I wasn't trying to starve myself, I was just scared I'd go over my calories. It's hard to go back to not counting once you've restarted. Ugh. lol I've got this, though :-)1 -
This meal hit the spot! I'm not too big on hot dogs, but once every month or two I enjoy having them. Two chili dogs with jalapeños, onions, ketchup and mustard. Amazing and delicious "Ice cream" made from blending a banana, 1 TBSP of organic peanut butter, 1 tsp of vanilla extract, 1 TBSP carob powder, and crushed ice, and adding a serving of walnuts on top. Even better than my dessert was a fantastic broccoli, cauliflower, onions, cheese, carrot, and baby kale salad! Dressing made from mayo, cider vinegar and one packet of sugar--the salad served four adults, sans the kale, I added it separately to my salad because some people don't like kale... The Horror!! lolol

BTW, you know what really shines through in your posts about eating too much - you are right back onto OMAD. I'm not sure about you, but for me, in the past, when I had one of those "episodes", I would probably have said screw this, I've FU and I might as well just keep eating like this and I'll start again next Monday (which never came, of course).
I'm with you on the feeling hungry thing. I am fine feeling hungry in the lead up to my one meal, but I need to feel satisfied at that meal and I could never go to bed hungry. It sounds like you did a ton of activity that day and your body was just telling you what it needed! (Well, it probably didn't NEED junk food, but you were trying to ignore it, so it took what it could get, ha! )0
