I think sometimes we give the scale and even trend apps way too much power over our minds. I completely understand because I've allowed the same. I decided, to ensure I'm not starving myself, to count calories. And, based on my Apple Watch readings for the past month, I'll be upping my caloric intake to 1800. My TDEE from rest and active calories has been 2100-2200 burned a day. I have been inadvertently starving myself. I'm nipping this in the bud now so once I reach goal, I don't care if it's five years from now, it won't matter because I want to be on a proper track that will last a lifetime. I'm expecting my weight to go up for a few weeks, but I'm okay with that. It'll go back down once my body adjusts. I'm in for a total mind f&$@, so I will need to be strong. Lol

I am thinking about our vacation that we have scheduled for the last week of the month. We will be going with extended family a total of 12 of us. I want to come back from this vacation still having lost weight. I thought of eating low carb/keto style but I really want to stick with my OMAD. I would have to either not go out with them when they go to eat or go with them and not eat. Going the low carb route would be easier as far as socializing, but it will also be easier to go over on calories as well eating more than one meal a day. Any suggestions on how my fellow OMADers handled this type of situation.

Sandy you are doing great and setting yourself for future success in maintaining your weight loss. You have to do what gives you peace and enables you to stay the course and if counting calories does that for you, then go for it.

Yes, I have some advice. I enjoyed food in London and never once felt deprived. I just modified my OMAD. I ate one big meal, BUT only to being slightly satisfied, so I could then drink and maybe try a dessert if one popped up throughout our day. I enjoyed alcohol, food, everything in London and came back three point two pounds lighter. Don't restrict foods or you'll go bonkers. We also did 13-14k steps a day so any extra calories I ate fueled me and gave me energy the whole time! Eat, drink, be merry, and enjoy!

We don't drink alcohol, so that won't be an issue. My family is just big on eating out and eating together when we are on vacation. I was thinking maybe I could do two meals. A light breakfast or lunch and my big meal for dinner - eating whatever I want of course just being mindful of the calories.

I just got back from vacation, and we had paid for the Disney meal plan which is 2 meals and 2 snacks a day...prepaid. So I ate normal, but tried to make good choices along the way (I slipped in some cupcakes, they were amazing). I maintained, but didn't lose. The harder part was (is) getting back into the swing of OMAD, after eating 3 meals a day. We have been back 2 weeks and I still am not back to OMAD. I say, go out to eat, be aware of all of your progress so far, and make sensible decisions. After all, you are going to have to do it when you hit your goal, might as well practice maintenance for a short time now!

Apparently, I need to go on vacation! :D:D:D I'd kill for 3.2 in that time period!!!! LOL

Tonight's meal. We had friends over for dinner, it was really good and I think I ate a little more than I should.

The last three days I have been stuck at the same weight of 165.4 pounds. Today is a no eating day so I hope to see a decrease in the morning. I need to lose more than 1.6 pounds to show a loss for the week. My official weigh day is Sunday so it may be possible with a no eating day today and an OMAD breakfast day tomorrow.

I will be getting my new Fitbit Aria wi-fi scale today. It will be interesting to see if I get the same weight on this scale as my old scale. A lower weight would be nice. Does anyone else use this scale or other wi-fi scales and can share your experience.

I think you'll reach your 1.6 goal, give or take a few from the decimal, maybe even more--in the lose direction, of course!

I'd like one of those wifi scales, myself! I use a ten pound weight to calibrate my electronic scale, weekly, and it's been consistent for months--10.2 pounds. I don't take the extra .2 from my weekly weigh-ins. You may want to calibrate your current one, as well as your new one in the same way, so you know that you're getting a truer weight. Ten pound or more weight seems to give me more accuracy than 8 or less for some reason, no idea why. lol

I'm interested to see if you like your new scale :-)

I have never calibrated any of my scales. I probably should because the two scales I currently have at home have nearly a 3 pound difference between them when weighing. I never checked to see which one was right, I just stuck with the one that was in my bedroom. The other one is in the basement. I think I will check all 3 of them when I get home this evening. It would be awesome if the one I had been using was wrong and I am actually 3 pounds lighter

I do hope I like the Aria Scale.

It would be awesome if the lighter one was the correct one! :-)

I changed my official weigh in day from Sunday to Friday so that it will follow my Thursday no eating day. I had to update my tracking spreadsheet to reflect the change so even though today is my no eating day (had to change it from yesterday because we had dinner guests) I still left it with this morning's weight being used to calculate my weekly numbers. So from last friday to this today I gained 2 pounds scale weight, but I am showing a loss of 0.3 pounds in my trending weight with no gain or loss in bodyfat %. Here is my updated spreadsheet. I have made Mondays and Thursdays my permanent no eating days which will allow me to plan around them and not have to deviate from my plan.

LOVE IT! Very close to the schedule I follow, and I LOVE IT! Easy to plan around, and nice steady weight loss AND lots of calories to play with on eating days!

I agree and with my schedule the way it is I have some wiggle room on some days as to what time I eat and still get my full fasted hours in.

@tlblanksfit for us and anyone else with bad ldl, over 100 peer reviewed studies. I didn't pay for anything, just looking at the go food, caution food, and stop food links. I'm going to work it into my OMAD https://pritikin.com/healthiest-diet/pritikin-eating-plan
