Hi peeps! Just dropping in to wave and let everyone know I am still alive...just not on the deficit train at the moment...national competition coming up in April (same date as Europe's strongest man, go Kieliszkowski!), so eating all the darn food just to recover from training. Hopefully some of the weight gain is muscle...will head back into a slight deficit (to lose 0.5lbs per week as I want to maintain all the strength) for around 12 months maybe more to reach aesthetic goal (yeah I know how that has gone for the past two years - strength or aesthetics seesaw)...

Hi everyone. I’m having an okay week but haven’t weighed myself in a couple of weeks because I had the period from hell last week and I could feel just how bloated I was. I’m slowly deflating (lol) from that and will be weighing in again soon.

I am much the same this week, don't know if it's the antibiotics I was on or what but I felt sooo bloated and my PMT was unbearable this month which is unusual for me. Normally just see the rise on the scale but don't really feel it.

Oooh exciting. I wish I could intentionally eat all the darn food, I'm eating it unintentionally at the moment.

I have always suffered badly so I’ve just gotten used to it. Very seldom do I have an easy month. I thought maybe a healthier lifestyle would help but it hasn’t. Ah well. I did read in the forums that someone said weight loss can actually make it worse due to fat releasing estrogen as we lose fat but I don’t know how much truth there is in that.

But yes, it’s almost always reflected on the scales for me so I choose to avoid the scale for a week or two at that time and I always seem to start losing again once I’m back to normal. Well, I’ve had the occasional plateau but that’s also to be expected.

Mine were much worse when I was heavier so not sure how much truth there is in that. Have you spoken with your GP? Some contraceptive pills can ease PMT symptoms, I never had any issues when I was on the pill, but had to come off it because of the stupid BMI rule so now on the non-hormonal coil.

This tickled me yesterday but thought it more appropriate to Hump Day.

Been thinking about my March goals, my progress has really gone a bit backwards the last few months, I am normally so much more active in the Winter but it just hasn't happened this year.

So these are my Nutrition & Fitness goals for March.

haha good hump day photo

@tinkerbell I thought I'd pop into this group

I'm the opposite, way more active in summer from being outdoors more - fair weather girl I am! plus there's always more to do, lawns to mow, gardening.

    Welcome @LivingtheLeanDream

I try to get into the habit of chatting here, because I never get notifications on the newsfeed so have to remember to go back to anything I commented on, and often forget.

I probably get more incidental steps in the summer, but there's also a lot of beer garden nights and socialising. So I'm more inclined to go out running and rowing in the Winter.

thanks @tinkerbellang83 I have already 'starred' it so I'll see if there are new replies and try to keep up to date. I get fed up so often with the general forums its nice to have somewhere else to connect on fitness/dieting topics.

Exactly, incidental steps but with it comes as you say more socialising - but such is life and thats the fun part

I was on Cerazette (mini pill) for 5 years due to the severity of my PMS— at the suggestion of the gynae. It helped immensely and I was symptom free the entire time but about a year ago, I was advised to stop taking them. I was told it’s because they’re not recommended to be used for years on end. That was probably the doctor being polite and not saying it’s because I was too fat lol.

Cerazette is actually the ones they're happy to give you if you're overweight, I was given it initially when they insisted on taking me off Loestrin (Low Dose pill) which I'd been taking without issue for 16 years. The Cerazette didn't suit me at all though, I ended up with a hormonal imbalance, 2 weeks of heavy periods, 2 weeks of awful PMS, then another 2 weeks of heavy periods, was not ideal when living in a warzone at the time.

@tinkerbellang83 you lived in a warzone!
you gals have a time of it with pills by the sound of it. When I had son no. 2 I decided to get 'sterlised' not sure that is the medical term for it any more! it was great not to have to use contraceptive again, I never looked back. But I do sympathise with you with having to cope with these issues.

I have the non-hormone coil these days, lasts 5 years and has been grand after the few months settling into it, to be honest think this month's problems are just down to the anti-biotics or being ill.

I used to work for a defence contractor for the USA in Kandahar in between working for the NAAFI alongside the British forces in Iraq/Kuwait/Afghanistan. 7 long years of sun, sand and the occasional rocket attack. Good Times! Not a great place to be with raging PMS though.

I always wonder how women cope being in such jobs/places at TOM time. Must have been a great experience for you - apart from the odd rocket attack! yikes!

I hear the coil is good, some of my work colleagues have it in and don't even get periods but they do get PMS regardless.

I loved the job and to be honest TOM wasn't really that bad the rest of the time.

They are probably the Mirena ones, they still have hormones in them which is what stops the period. Mine is the copper one so still get the monthly reminder that I'm not knocked up

So excited for my trip to the Czech Republic, always wanted to go and have always put it off for travelling home/UK City breaks, etc. Off to Prague tomorrow and then Brno on Saturday afternoon.

Not worried about the logging too much, I will be walking a lot, I am not really in the form for drinking a lot, although may have a couple if I find somewhere to watch the England v Wales game on Saturday (Irish Bar I am looking at you!)

Anyone else got plans for the weekend?

Prague will be fab :) we've not managed to get there yet! The walking will offset most of the eating

We were away last weekend in Co Fermanagh so this weekend will be more relaxed. We've a family meal out on Friday to a new restaurant for us - I have already decided I'll be having the monkfish

Have a fab time away <3

Thanks @LivingtheLeanDream, your pics of Fermanagh were lovely, I need to get a bit further North a bit more to explore, was hoping to get up to Sligo/Mayo whilst I have a meeting in Galway, but have rowing club committee meeting the night before so not going to be able to head up early. So may just have to do some exploring next time I am up in our Drogheda office.

I've done a lot of the West Coast: Kerry, Limerick, Clare, Galway, so would like to do Sligo/Mayo and then the Donegal/Derry/Giants Causeway another time.

The West Coast is lovely, Westport and Sligo itself is charming. We're inclined to head to further fields when we have great spots practically on our doorsteps.

As for the North, I might live there but it is stunning too, the coastline especially

Our next trip is at Easter, flying to Venice but for a change heading to a place called Padua. Love getaways

Lovely, haven't been to Italy yet either.

I'm off to Aarhus in Denmark next month over Paddy's Day Weekend though  that's a holiday every month so far this year

@nexanglus way to make the weekend count
I do my workouts during the week so weekends are inclined to have walking as my only activity (apart from chores around the house/garden of course).

Have a lovely weekend everyone

    @LivingtheLeanDream was lovely, thanks.

Weather was cold but sunny, food was amazing, drinks were cheap and the sights were great. Company wasn't bad either (1st trip away with the boyfriend)
