Morning Everyone!

Good morning! I went to see my dr. yesterday for a pre-surgery physical, surgery will be at the end of the month. I was so upset by the scale weight...I am doing this challenge and have went up in weight instead of down. I will recommit starting today (I will be fasting today for Lent which will kick start me nicely going forward). Hope everyone is having a wonderful Wednesday!1

Hope your upcoming surgery goes well. Try not to worry too much about the scale number but focus on staying within your alloted calories consistently, that's what brings results..2 -
Happy Friday Eve everyone. Sorry I was on the road most of the day yesterday and in meetings so didn't get an opportunity to drop into chat.
@4bugsmama like @LivingtheLeanDream says, just focus on your calories and logging accurately and it'll come off. The scale is a good tool, but only one of many and you shouldn't focus on one or two results. My scale works just fine but my weights this week were as follows as a results of influences on water weight (carbs/sodium/alcohol/exercise/dehydration):
Saturday: 235lbs
Sunday: 239lbs
Monday: 237lbs
Tuesday: 235lbs
Wednesday: 231lbs
Thursday: 232lbs
Good job Sunday isn't what I consider my "official" weigh in and I don't weigh in once a week anymore. There's as much as 8lbs difference between some of the readings, now I had a bit of a binge on Saturday but only 1500 cals above maintenance, so I know I didn't entirely undo my calorie deficit for the whole week and I know from weighing the rest of the week before that I was bouncing around 235lbs.1 -
Morning everyone
Ang, my weight is similar, it jumps around by up to 3lbs even with being in maintenance, totally normal. I like daily weighing for that reason, if I happened to only weigh in one day a week it would be likely I'd only see the higher amount and I know that would annoy my head LOL so seeing the overall trend lets me see all is well.

Thought it might be fun today (if ye want to) to show a photo from the past that you like of yourself, perhaps one you use as inspiration for a goal, or just that has happy memories for Throwback Thursday:
I kind of have two for inspiration, one is the most unflattering photo (angles didn't help) which was taken at my highest weight and the other is when I think I was my slimmest in the last decade:
2016
2008

Its like looking at two different people! I like your style such a difference x1

To be fair there is a more flattering photo from 2016, but that is better angles in the other direction :

oh now I'm jealous! I love Avon products!! I'm always waiting for the 99p delivery deals for buying online. I especially love their tinted moisturiser/BB cream, can't remember the proper name for it!1 -

I use that too. Can you not get it through a rep up there so you don't have to pay delivery? It's always free delivery that way.1 -
I don't know anyone who does it locally, it means I wait until I want to buy several items so I just make the one order.0
-
ps the last time I went to order that tinted cream it wasn't available, ended up getting it on Amazon bought 3 for £12 which was a great bargain.0

You don't need to know them to be fair, now that they have online shops it'll allocate a rep to you. You can just search by your postcode take a look next time you're taking a look and when you're in the checkout it has the option for Rep Delivery or you can look them up here https://www.avon.uk.com/representative/

Oh thanks for that, I'll try that1
-
thanks for the link, I found a rep only 4 miles from me so next time I order I'll see how that goes - only thing is, it'll be far to tempting to order more and more stuff LOL0

Happy International Women's Day Ladies (and gents to the women in your lives).
Anyone doing anything special for it? I know some folk from another company in our industry are going all out with it, our place, I am not even sure they're aware of it
For me, all I can think of is the scene from Deadpool, but maybe I should think of things more like this:
For the ladies amongst us tell me something you're proud of achieving recently? For the guys (if there are any around today) who is an inspirational lady for you?
@solieco1 How is the kitchen strike going?

I am having a relatively quiet one tonight, probably going to head out for a run and then watch some more of Godless on Netflix with the other half and some takeaway. Imagine I'll be rowing Saturday, maybe Sunday too before going out for the rugby.LivingtheLeanDream wrote: »Ang, have you been to Gdansk in your travels?? just wondering, trying to suss another sneaky weekend break lol - its coming up cheap as it Faro/Albufeira area and Sorrento/Naples.
I haven't been to Poland myself but I've heard good things. I don't think you can go wrong with any of those destinations to be honest. I am counting down the days to Denmark, will be half way there, this time next week, glad I am going through Stansted on the way, I can stock up on Ibuprofen & Anti-histamines, can't get over the price here in the South, €8 for a pack of Ibuprofen and ye can only get it over the counter.1 -
Oh my goodness, that's a rip off for those over the counter meds! only thing is they usually limit how many you purchase, you'll be going back to the cashdesk several times me thinks!
How long til Denmark now? where are you staying? I've been to Copenhagan a few times and Skagen.0 -
well done ladies - nice pictures1

I can get a 96 pack from Boots over the counter for £8 at the airport. They only limit them off the shelf per transaction. Normally when I go home to visit I grab a couple of packs in each shop lol
Flying out next Friday to Aarhus, quite excited for it, I don't think I've done so much non-work related travel in one year before.1
