Really didn't feel like lacing up my runners tonight. We got soaked (all the way through to our underclothes) during our walk around midday - so I wasn't sure that the rain would hold off, but it did!!0 -

@Dean: Congratulations on your mileage landmark. And for doing when you work so many long hours too.
Thanks for good thoughts for my dad. He had his upper GI scope today. He was the last patient but his doctor had an emergency in ICU so he had an extra 1 1/2 hrs wait. He did well. They found a very large stomach polyp on a a very large stock (looked like a mushroom) with lots of blood vessels feeding into it and apparently showed some bleeding. She got it, cauterized it and put some clips in. They will biopsy it but if it is cancerous, they said nothing further needs to be done as they got it out. Hopefully this will resolve his issues. Thanks again for your prayers and uplifting.

OK Guys I swear I just posted this but it's gone so.....
Hey everyone I'm resurfacing this morning. So it turns out I am not too bad a lead instructor, but this has been a really crazy and stressful two weeks. Rewarding, Yes but I’m still torn between what went well and what I could have done better. I’ll sort that out myself in the next couple of days and file it under lessons learned – what to do differently next time. It doesn’t help that my supervisor is out of town and I don’t want to interrupt her vacation.
On the home front, my mother has overdone it and has irritated the nerves around her knee replacement. At least that is what the pain specialist believes, her ortho thinks that is probable but wants to see her before she gets further treatment. At least it is not red or swollen, so we are not looking at an infection. And this reminds why I am here, I cannot let my weight get out of control or I may have the same knee issues she has. So far that is not an issue for me and I want to keep it that way.
So the good part of crazy stressful days is I end up getting some walking in when I just need to GET OUT NOW. Added 21.5 miles for a July total of 51.5 miles. Hmm 23.5 miles in 4 days. About 6 miles a day. Wow I need to get up and start walking NOW.

July 28: Adding 16 miles today of running 3 miles, cycling 8 and walking 5 miles. Also got my trailer unloaded and all the wood chips down for mulch. Sore muscles and back.
TTD: 386 miles
@taxmom: Sorry to hear about your mother having more issues with her knee. I sure will put her in my prayers the night. Good job on your efforts to keep moving.
We have flash flood warnings again and some areas a few miles south of me said it is worse than when Hurricane Ivan went through. Sorry VHuber....wish I could send some of this. Our blood suckers are so bad this year because of all the moisture. I am living in bug spray.
Congrats to all hitting goal and thank you Dave for your encouragement. I keep envisioning you at the finish line of one of my races and you are there cheering all of across the line.

And now crossing the goal line we have future_rockstar and me! And Dave is only a mile away so he'll probably make goal this weekend and report it on Monday.
Unseasonably cool here again today, making for a great 800 m interval run. I really enjoyed it. And I'm very excited that the number 1 key is working on my keyboard again. If only the shift key and the number 4 would return I'd be all set lol. Fortunately I have an onscreen touch keyboard as a backup and it's still working fine.1 -

@Just_Ceci, I have to say you are AMAZING to do all those miles whether it is on foot or by bike in your humidity!!! We have dry high heat with wind but oh my goodness I got to feel what its like where you live this past week!! It is a BEAUTIFUL area and I was soaked without really even moving! We got them all moved in & set up and got back home last night at midnight. Also found out it's a long drive there. We drove over the speed limit most of the time & it took around 18 hrs to get there but flew back home!
Here is my update. Have not been able to do much but walk the dog while in Arkansas & my 2 fur babies when home. Did see the podiatrist in AR. Had xrays to see about stress fracture on left foot & heel spur on right foot but no to either which is a blessing but was treated for PF. Prescribed two different medications, shoe inserts, foot sleeve for the left foot & a PF support for the right oh & also no running for awhile & short walks till it no longer hurts! I HATE this!

Well the weather has thrown us a curve again. Starting Tuesday, we are going immediately into the 100s. But the kicker is Wed 108, Thursday 110 F and Friday 109 F. So I am going to have to ride at 7am or earlier while its still in the 60/70 F range. This is NW Oregon, we are not supposed to get this hot. Well the global warming that does not exist
07/29 - 20.0 miles cycling (we are headed into the 100s this week)
Total: 296.0 miles

@vhuber: Glad you made it out and back for the move. So sorry to hear the issues continue with your feet. If you inserts don't help, please consider the Protalis brand on line. They are good people and give you a trial and free return. I truly thought I was done running but the they have given me new life. My dad is using them and he had instant relief the moment he put them in. As soon as I run around in my Birenstocks for awhile my heel starts hurting again. My podiatrist has had me on two different orthotics and I had more pain. The reviews by people using these are amazing. I am running again several times a week and now back up toward the five mile mark for my longer run. But I hope that his treatment works. I will keep you in prayer.0 -
