Sounds like everyone here is dealing with stuff so hope it all works out. My stuff is minor so I need to just suck it up buttercup as they say!

Today I went had a mani pedi. Was the first one in so it was empty. Clear plastic sheeting separated us and they all wore masks, gloves and face shields. I will feel dum in 14 days if I get Covid. Stay tuned.

Exercise- ran 3.5 miles with walking mixed in. New shoes felt bouncy.

I made fish tacos today. So good!!! NYT cooking recipe - I usually just use broiled or grilled fish but this actually had you fry it after a milk and flour dredge. Prolly not low in cals but delish.

It’s going to be a food fest drink fest celebratory weekend so Tuesday, back to work and logging!

    @ddmom0811

What’s your LB name! Glad you like the bike! I enjoyed the Peloton run today.

I was over yesterday by 1 calorie lol Although my lunch meat was slightly less than a serving but I entered it as a serving so probably spot on.

Got up this morning and it was 63° out so I took the dog for a "run". She did 2.8 and I went back out to finish an even 3.

@ddmom0811 Nice Pelo streak!!! keep it going! I am #LostnAustin. Amazing that the hotels are full! But its a holiday weekend. Don't forget your antibiotics B)

@RunsOnEspresso Amazing job re logging. I really need to revisit that starting Tuesday.

@quilteryoyo Thanks....she is amazing. Way more grit than I have although I did give birth to a 10#8oz baby with no epidural and forcept delivery.....still walking funny. That's pretty gritty. :D

@ddmom0811 - sounds like you are really enjoying the Peloton. I am sure it will be great when it gets so hot and humid there. Has you dh tried it out yet?
I am amazed that the hotels were full too. On the other hand FL is a lot further along with reopening than we are. They still have most all the parking lots at the beaches closed to limit the numbers but I am sure they will be packed this weekend regardless.
@Elise4270 - I hope your back and other pains are relieved a bit today. What worked for you last time your back was hurting? Not sure the legality in OK but could you try some medical marijuana (baked in a cookie or something) or even just CBD? My brother has a degenerative bone disease and is in constant pain. He tried acupuncture with limited success but has found the CBD takes most of the edge away. He isn't pain free but it certainly helps.
@runsonespresso - I know that feeling where you aren't hungry in the traditional sense but know you need something more. I usually try to add a bit more protein and that seems to take care of it for me.
@bearly63 - that is so awesome that your daughter pulled off a 4.0! Yay!
I also went through a similar childbirth experience but mine was 'only' 9.2! Yikes over 10lbs!!
That your son could travel from NY to Texas and not be checked worries me - especially taking the virus from areas that are growing to those (like CA) that are not/have not seen the high growth. Hope you have a blast this weekend celebrating! Your daughter and the family deserve to celebrate her accomplishments and it is great that your son came home for it too!

I have my appointment with the next doctor on Wednesday. Fortunately they got me in at his office (he is only there 1 day/week) instead of the hospital.

On Thursday I did our Costco run and since I was in the area headed over to my favorite strawberry stand and got a half flat. OMG they are SO good. Yesterday I had them on my yogurt, for a snack midday and on vanilla ice cream for dessert last night 😋 yum! (at one point when I was pregnant I went out at lunch and bought strawberries from a local stand to take home. I had them in my office at work and proceeded to eat pretty much the entire half flat. I love strawberries!)
Behind the strawberry stand is, of all things a field of artichokes. I have never seen them in bloom and was amazed at how pretty they are. I took some pictures through the fence.

Dinner last night was baked potatoes and veggies. I hadn't really had much protein at all, all day and none for dinner so I had a protein (decaf) coffee and my strawberries with ice cream. I find that I sleep better when I have protein in the evening. Does anyone else?

Tonight we are having pork chops with rice and veggies. We are planning brats on the bbq on Monday and no plans in-between 😁

@shanaber I've never seen artichokes growing! Reminds me a bit of pineapples.

No pot for me. It makes me sick, I grew up around it and have an aversion, and the school does drug testing.

Rest will help the back. Dh cooked and did dishes for me. Once I get this leg fixed it should help the pelvic alignment and no longer cause the back to flare up. No bending, sitting or standing will help too. I had to go drop books off at the postal store, about died standing in line. I took half of a Norco yesterday with a Valium, it helped. But I’m saving the rest of the pain meds.

    Scale
Taunting me, it’s down a bit today.

    Food
    Tylenol
    Valium
    Coffee
    Egg
Probably something I shouldn’t eat later as it’ll be on dh to cook or grab something.

I’ll just lay here and kill zombies and watch all of Netflix today.

@shanaber - wow those are artichokes? They start out so pretty and then.... LOL Yes, he has only ridden it once so far. But says he will today. He said he would use the treadmill and has used it 1/100 of the times I have and I've not used it much until Covid. Jealous of your strawberries! As I said before, the first time I had strawberries in CA, I realized "I've never actually had a strawberry in my life until now!"

@bearly63 - haha! I will bring antibiotics if we go! My DD was 10 pounds, 23 inches! No drugs for me either because she came out so quick! The Peloton streak is because of the running streak. So you haven't had your Peloton for very long? I thought maybe you had it a long time. Now I'm looking at racks to hold shoes above it. DH will leave his stuff everywhere.

Just got back from haircut/color and now need to catch up with school! Taking a rest day today so just the core workout and one mile run.
Had a PB sandwich for lunch with my favorite Santa Cruz PB - so good!

@ddmom0811 Funny. I was over a little on calories yesterday and was down too. Congrats on being below 150! Yeah!

@bearly63 Yeah, that's pretty gritty! I think you have her beat, for now.

@shanaber I love strawberries too. The artichoke blooms are pretty.

@shanaber love live strawberries! I have a patch that last year did really well! Those artichokes are beautiful!

Well after 3 days of not giving a *kitten*, I've decided to get over myself and get back on the eating well train. Gained 2.5kg (5lb) being stupid. And now I feel bloated, blocked up and uncomfortable. And hungry all the time. I kinda think my hormones are a bit messed up because I feel like I've been ovulating for a week. Driving me nuts.

I am on call this weekend, and had an awful night last night. 3 call outs, all about 3hrs apart, meaning I had pretty much no sleep. So I treated myself to a mcdonalds Bacon And Egg muffin at 4am. It was needed and so good. Consequently I didn't weigh in this morning. No point cause it wouldn't be accurate.

DH is going to take the kids to the park soon, and I'm going to nap.

Slow 15k this morning. Now I'm doing a CBD facemask and Prevail on my legs to hopefully help relax me into a nap. 🤣

@runs_on_espresso hope you get a nap!

I ended up on track yesterday, yay! And slept about 10 hrs so feel much better this morning. No call outs last night, whew.

Today's plan is a long walk, and strength training. Then do something with the kids. Not sure what yet as it looks like it's going to rain.

@Avidkeo no nap sadly. I started dozing off and then someone started growling in her sleep! 🤣 It's like having a snorer in bed.

@Avidkeo Yeah for staying on track yesterday. One day at a time! Also, yeah for a good nights sleep and playing with the kids.

    @RunsOnEspresso Sorry you didn't get a nap.

I ran 9.5 miles today and walked one. Now I have almost 900 calories left and I've already had dinner. Need to find something good for a snack later. Oh, I was barely under 140 pounds this morning (139.8 to be exact). I noticed that I have been alternating up about a pound and then back down that pound for the last 5 weeks. Odd, but a good thing.

@quilteryoyo - Nice run! I was studying my weight and although I have so many ups and downs each week, the trend is down 1 pound in approx 5 weeks. I’m fine with that!

@avidkeo - awesome on sleep and on track!
@RunsOnEspresso - nice run! Our dog snores too.

We rode 50 miles today. Our cycling club announced that group rides are on for next weekend, but in groups no more than 10. So we have to divide ourselves up. DH and I think we will probably wait a couple more weeks, but will depend upon how things go here. Universal Studios is opening on 6/5. Disney still has no plans. The thing that makes me nervous is when they open we will get a flood of tourists and then who knows where people have been. I’m about 45 mins-an hour north of the parks. But people stay up by me to visit too.
One mile for streak. Tomorrow will be Peloton and a run and then we are going to beach for just one night. Saw granddaughter this afternoon. So fun - I love that age (18 months). I told them since we are going to the beach, even though we will be careful, we won’t see them for two weeks, which happens to be DS’s 30th birthday!

I didn't end up having my walk, I got called into work instead! And now it's raining. Oh well rest day it is

@ddmom0811 Great bike ride! I agree. It is probably a good idea to wait a couple of weeks before joining the group rides. Disney, I heard, is opening Universal Studios in FL. People there are concerned as you are, about people flooding in from all over the county and bringing CoVID with them. I hope that isn't the case. I guess this is a good "test" to see if we are truly ready to "re-open" the country or not. Have fun at the beach. OH, I love the 18 month old stage too.

Hi all! Great runs, biking, etc!

I seem to be jumping up and down a pound around 140. Tbh, I have been bad about eating and logging so I’m ok with this. My legs feel more muscular from riding so weight wise, 137-140 is fine but I need more muscle.

Ran this morning - 3 Ish miles. Bummer is my hip hurts. 😏

Planning on doing a Peloton challenge tomorrow.

Food is a big whatever this weekend since we are celebrating graduation. Fajitas last night and cake and champagne too! I’ll get back into it on Tuesday!

You’ve heard of shoe porn? How about food porn? It was so good! Death by Chocolate!

Sorry about the hip @bearly63 the cake looks amazing!

Stuck to goal again yesterday, and lost 3lb of water weight. Yay. Feeling much better. Not bloated or blocked. Whew.

I really want some of that cake now @bearly63 ! Sorry to hear about the hip pain. Hopefully it won't worsen.

    @Avidkeo wow 3 pounds! Nice!

My back is finally better. I have to figure out if the trigger is brush dragging, hills or just too much walking now.

    Food
Everything. DH did buy me a huge 500 calorie salad from McAlister's deli. Score. I sent him to the store with a list with a section on items NOT to get. He did well. So tomorrow I can make more of the butternut squash, pecan, cranberries dish again. I need to make the acorn squash too, think I'll season some ground turkey and rice with it.

    Bears!
xq1gtbhacb9q.jpg what a do-do bird. He stalking a leaf or something invisyto the human eye. There is nothing there. And he's scaring up my cherry tree.

Thanks @elise4270, it's a fake loss given its all water. I very much know how my body works after a binge now lol. I think I'll lose another lb tomorrow, then I'll be into actual weight loss again.

Love the pic of Bear! My cat Leo is doing that a lot. And bringing in mice and rats. Sigh.

@Avidkeo Yeah with sticking to you goal again! And the weight loss, even if it is just water. It needs to be gone, so you are doing great!

I finally broke the 50 miles in a month after several months (I think November was the last time I had more than 50 miles). Woo!

I did 3.25 this morning. I tried to take the dog but she clearly wasn't really into it. When I finished she was back in bed! (The little jerk woke me up at 4 something and goes back to bed pfffffft)

My other cats at his age were bringing in all sorts of critters. Not bear. He’ll bring me dirt clods, leaves, toys... he did bring in shrew and just dropped it at my feet and walked away. Dude! Nooooo! He brings in earth snakes occasionally but nothing truly cat worthy, I think he’s lucky to be a house cat. His nickname is Mr butterfly as he loves chasing them... hmm perhaps there had been on thin the tree yesterday. I can’t wait til he get a bird and understands what it means to be a cat. @Avidkeo I think Leo and Bear are about the same ages, he’s 18 months , 4 days.

    Plans
It’s rainy today, maybe if it lets up I can try a short walk. I’ll try to cook and try to get some violin in, might even do some old/new course review.

The back is a bit grumpy this morning and I’m hoping that it’s just time to get moving. Shoulder still continues to get worse. Oh well.

Hey all! I have been feeling pretty antisocial lately. It started with a trip to the grocery store where the vast majority of people were not wearing masks or social distancing or following the oneway flows. Then on Saturday after my run (I went way out and away from the regular paved trail to get away from all the people) I was leaving the trail and had a little run-in with a cyclist. There is a ramp from the street up to the trail and most people are very respectful, waiting turns to go up or down. On Saturday there were 2 cyclists (no masks) at the bottom, one working on his bike and the other riding circles waiting for him. I waited a bit at the top, they made no move to come up so I headed down. I had my mask in my pocket but didn't see a need to take it out. I was maybe 1/4 the way down when the girl riding in circles decided to ride up. I turned my back to her as she went by and I pulled Hobbes way over to make room for her, but couldn't restrain myself and said 'just couldn't wait, huh?' She got irate, said something like WTF, Lady! I just kept going but I really should have said something more to her, like masks and social distancing and I would have waited if I thought she wanted to go up. I guess I really am becoming a bitchy old lady...
Today I got up and out earlier figuring most people wouldn't get out that early on a holiday morning but nope there were a ton of people again. Everyone was pretty nice though and stayed well spaced.

    Now to get caught up...
@RunsOnEspresso - Hobbes snores really loudly and whines and barks in his sleep. Makes me wonder what he is dreaming about. Great work getting over 50 miles in this month!
@ddmom0811 - glad you got to visit with Ella! Hope you are having fun at the beach! I wouldn't want to be anywhere near Universal when it opens, either. I have not heard anything for Disney here yet but I don't think the state will allow any (Disney, Knotts, Universal, LegoLand, etc.) of the parks to open anytime soon.
@quilteryoyo - you are really doing an awesome job with your running! Wow - 9.5 miles running plus a mile walking is fantastic!
@bearly63 - that cake is beautiful and I bet it was delicious! I hope your hip is feeling better. When do you go back to have it checked again?
@avidkeo - 3 pounds is 3 pounds water or not... You are doing great sticking to plan even with a binge every now and again.
@Elise4270 - Oh that Beary!! I sometimes wish we had a cat that would keep the other feral cats away along with the squirrels. Hobbes will chase them if he sees them in our backyard but mostly they just get out of his way and then go right back to what they were doing once he goes back in the house. It is like a big game. I have a bunch of nectarines on my tree and I just know the squirrels are going to delight in eating them all...

Food has been ok other than the doughnuts dh went and got yesterday. We had a zoom happy hour with friends last evening and it was lots of fun. Dh and I had snacks and wine... crackers, cheeses, salami and berries and cherries. We started at 5pm our time so had planned to have dinner afterwards but we were too full from snacks. I did have some ice cream and berries though later. Tonight we are going to bbq some brats and have them with a big salad. I also got corn on the cob for dh. I love it too but it causes me all kinds of stomach issues so I probably won't have any.

Have to leave you with this picture - Hobbes relaxing on a Sunday afternoon. Typically when I workout he wants to be in the middle of it but not yesterday.

@RunsOnEspresso Yeah on getting over 50 miles in for the month.

@shanaber Thanks. Sorry you had a run in with the cyclist. People can be so self-centered. Glad you held your tongue after she mouthed off. Sounds like it could have turned into something you wouldn't want to be a part of.

Today, I mowed the lawn for almost 2 hours. Finished just in time to take a quick shower, eat a Super Hero Muffing, and go play doubles tennis for over 2 hours. When I got home, I was in the mood for a hot dog, which I haven't had in a long time. So, that was dinner - turkey hot dog and chili. Way to much sodium, but still way under in calories for the day.

    Avidkeo Posts: 3,213 Member
@shanaber I'm always amazed at the way some cyclists can have a sense of self importance. I get that sometimes with my runs/walk along our coastal walkway. It's a shared path, but boy cyclists seem to think it's just for them. Sigh.

Well my prediction yesterday was fairly accurate. 65.1kg today, so about 300 grams (1lb)above the weight I was before 3 days of F it. And still 600g above my lowest weight. Sigh. OK I'll get there.

Again stuck to calorie goal. Am working evening shift, so that makes it a bit harder, but on these days I just say no food after 8pm and that helps curb the late night snacking that inevitably happens.
