I cooked the cube steak, my first attempt at german red cabbage, and fried taters with onion and green apple, with that I heated up some kraut. I ate 2 plates of food. Least its mostly veggies 😋

Wore me out cooking. I'm so impatient. Guess this was easier than trekking up to OKC to Ingrid's for authentic German food.

I have a hair cut at lunch. I might swing by and get a salad from the vegan place. Heavy meal last night, craving some raw veggies.

I managed a deficit the past few days. We will see if it continues.

I made creamy Italian chicken in the IP last night... took all of 30 minutes and was delicious! Really loving that gadget and wish I'd had one when my daughter was small. It would have revolutionized my life.

@elise4270 - we have a German Club not even a mile from our house. They have a couple of great restaurants but we never think about going there. May have to convince the DH that we need to have dinner or even better, brunch there soon! mmmm German pancakes!

I got the curry chicken recipe from my friend and I am going to see if I can work it out to cook it in the IP so it doesn't have to go into the oven. I wouldn't mind cooking it in the oven during the winter but not now!

Woo! I've been keeping to the straight and narrow for a few days now too - we can do it!

@shanaber mmm German pancakes! I was thinking about those last night. There's a place in ft worth tx, 2 hours away, that serves them. So good, there's always a 30-45 minute wait just for a table.

Bet I can figure out how to make them.

    German pancakes?

@sarahthes - they are thin but not as thin as crepes and served with applesauce and a sprinkle of powdered sugar. I am not sure if there is anything special about the batter but they are just delicious!

@sarahthes @shanaber the ones I've had are thinner but not qute crepe, like you said but these are served with fresh squeezed lemon, powder sugar and butter mixed right at your table and the pancake is folded twice into a triangle to keep all that awesomeness inside. Mmm!

Here's the place we go to. Ol' South Pancake House

Are they made with flour or potatoes? My family has always done the potato pancakes thing.

And the potato pancake batter poured into a casserole dish and baked thing. Served with mushroom gravy.

What's on the menu for the weekend? I need some ideas!

I am in a rut... I need to grocery shop and I don't want to. Costco trip will be this afternoon for basics but I have to get fresh veggies and fruit and cereal and...
It is hot and yucky and I really don't want to cook but I don't want take out either. We had Panera salads last night and I have nothing planned for tonight. :(

ET Finish what I started and posted to quickly

@shanaber I have no idea. Carbs tomorrow and nothing too greasy due to race Sunday, but other than that???

Sigh. Wine-related binge eating last night. I am disappointed in myself. It's that whole "well, the damage has been done!" mindset that leads to just one more drink, one more bowl of crackers. I logged everything though! I had two maintenance days scheduled for the month and if I cut both of them it will balance out. This will be my second week in a row that I only got one weight-lifting session in and I've got a race next weekend so next week probably won't be a good time to squeeze in a makeup session. Ah well. I'll have to make up some work hour tomorrow, too, but that, too, will balance out.

No plans here. Dh just put a roast in the ip. We have red cabbage for more German style cabbage... maybe I can get dh to fry the taters, onions and apple.. haha!

I havent done great this last week. I've failed to log everything. That hasnt happened, ever. My weight seems to be trending downwards and i think I'm seeing a leaner physique. So maybe im just "meh" over logging.

I've kinda been cheating on the fat loss. I found a supplement that helps your body naturally metabolize fat. It seems to actually help.

Its just vitamins and an amino acid. Choline, inositol and L-methionine. Lipotropic factors from Solgar. I haven't found any information that to these are bad, so forgive me if I'm passing on broscience or the like. They do make me poop after my first meal of the day. So beware if you give them a try. I wouldn't take them before a run or long drive or a meeting... haha! But i have ibs, everything makes me poop.

I thought perhaps I'm just deficient in these nutrients. Which is why its so hard to lose any weight. I did have some dna markers for something.. er, ya know body doesn't do what its supposed to with the building blocks... Idk. Insight welcome.

I don't know about the supplement but if it is working and you don't find any bad information on side affects or whatever I would think it would be ok.
I do have a question about IBS - did you have a test done or diagnosis of IBS? I am thinking with all the issues I am having that may be a consideration. I have an appointment with my doctor for a physical in September so I want to ask her about it.

I had a conversation with my doctor about the ibs. I had my gallbladder out and ibs is fairly common. I told him i cant go to the pool because I'm afraid of crapping myself. He understood and gave me some colestid and bentyl. I dont have to take them very often anymore. He also told me to take probiotics since yogurt was not tolerated. I can do some yogurt now. But i do have to watch the dairy.

Regarding the supplements. I havent check my average daily calories lately, but i guarantee I'm eating 300-500+ more than before, like normal people calories and not gaining! Before i had to target below 1000 to lose. Maddening when you're running. Cant ever build, body rebels and you're hungry and don't sleep well or never feel rested. I think some of that is my amazing PT, much less night pain.

ETA because dh needed ip help.... I'm just stoked over my normal people calories.

Thanks Elise! I have that same issue pretty much every time I run even if I go before and worry every time I work out with the trainer at the gym... otherwise we are pretty much at home and I am ok. I don't really want to be taking Imodium before every race/run and I am not even sure it would help or make things worse.

I am eating more now and not gaining (any more) but I see the nutritionist this next week and will see where I am on the dexa scan. I feel better and generally my runs are much better although this las week or few days I did not do great but overall I am doing better I think.

@shanaber Hopefully something like the meds i have can help, I'm sure there are a ton of them out there.

The colestid is a bile sequesterant and the bentyl a smooth muscle relaxer, so it calms that spastic intestine, but does cause a bit of drowsiness. Great before bed. I can take one during the day be fine and thats usually good enough to calm my tummy. I have a coworker with Crohn's, he was taking 3 a day. He fell asleep everytime he sat down for a break, haha!

I found i was so use to loose stools that when they became normal i felt constipated. But thats where better food choices help. And coffee doesnt get me anymore.

No plans here. Today I'm sitting at the BMW dealership, waiting on repairs, praying they are all under warranty and dont take all day. I brought a book, "Dirty German" and ear buds for Netflix or you tube...

Since I did thd hormone pellets months ago i have dark throat hair. Ugh. Wish i hadn't forgotten to shave that. All this fluorescent light its so visible. Suppose each trip to the restroom, i can try to pull 4-5 hahaha! For now i just talk to everyone with my hand over them.

I grabbed Starbucks this morning. Figure Panera on the way home.

@Elise4270 Car repairs suck! I can't remember if I posted here about it but that's what our vacation a few weeks ago started with. About half the cost was covered by the extended warranty.

I had PB toast for breakfast and now coffee (from home). We are going to Costco tonight. Maybe I'll grab something from the food court for supper, or a rotisserie chicken.

I am going to try to keep carbs <150g per day for the next few weeks. I am in the middle of signing up with a running coach so we will see if she has any other nutrition stuff she wants me to do, but that's not starting
    until Sept 1.

I need a simple easy short weight routine. I can't seem to stick to my Jessie's Girls or Strong Curves. I might have to go look at runner's world or women's running

Luckily it seems to be warranty work. They gave me loaner vehicle. That I'd sorta like to keep. Problem is, its a 50.000 $ car. 😆. Ill just enjoy it for a few days. Although I've already paired my phone and it fits in my garage. My car has more power (turbo) anyway. Guess that is better than a nicer cabin, wireless charging, sat nav, back up camera, road assist, bluttooth, and just overall poshier... Since my little auto is worth 1/5 this bougie bugger. ahhh car envy.

I skipped Panera since i was in and out of the dealership. Not sure what ill eat now... I really want pancakes... Guess theres a chance I'll make some.

Have you looked at AWorkoutRoutine? I've been doing it since March (first go at strength training) and have found it both simple and easy to adapt.

@Elise4270: Good luck with car stuff!

I'm hoping to continue to be righteous with the veggies (more) and alcohol (less), and end out August under 1900 calories/day average. My goal was 1840 and I'm at 2034, but if I stick to plan I should be able to wrap it up around 1852.

@Elise4270 - my new Subaru has all those features, leather heated seats and heated steering wheel, etc. and it was a lot less than that BMW. We were going back and forth between the Lincoln MKX and the Subaru Outback Touring and when the Lincoln dealer wasn't interested in either working with us on price or a certified pre-owned we went to Subaru and got everything the MKX had just maybe not quite as fancy, for almost $20k less!

We finally got to Costco this morning so I had things to cook. I am making Salsa chicken in the IP for tonight and future meals. I got ground turkey to make spaghetti sauce later this week. I am going on a girl's afternoon/evening tomorrow to the Laguna Arts Festival so DH is on his own for dinner. Friday we have the Hollywood Bowl again and I am bringing dessert. Probably carrot cake or Jack Daniels pecan pie.

I see the nutritionist on Thursday - anxious to get my test results as well as see how/if I have progressed any in the last month.

We are having sous vide chicken tonight and I will stir fry zoodles to have on the side. Bought lots of veggies and no protein. And no bread.
