@JTH11706 - thanks , I think. Not sure I enjoyed the exercise bike!

@djmicheals - that sounds like a rough few weeks (glad there was a silver lining). My thoughts and best wishes are with you.

Two hours and three YouTube videos later, I changed the flat on my bike. I also installed LED front & rear lamps, cleaned, lubed, etc everything.

Maybe I still have time this month to get a couple of rides in.

My mileage for the week coming up soon.

    10/18 - 2.15m dog walk
    10/19 - 1.6m dog walk
    10/20 - 3.4m dog walk
    10/21 - .70 dog walk ("rest" day)
    10/22 - 2.2m walk w/ dog

    MTD 64.20

@djmicheals: So sorry to hear about your situation. Been there...a year without no driving. Never found a reason, chewed my tongue raw and couldn't even suck through a straw for a week. All my seizures were in my sleep. I still take the same med 36 years later and never had another one after having three. I will keep you in my prayers that things work out.

Oct. 23: Adding 12 miles of running with my kids, purposeful walking and one hour of refereeing up and down my gym.
    TTD: 270 miles

@djmicheals - sounds very frightening. Hoping you are well soon.
@k80flec - sorry you didn't enjoy it. But look at all the miles

I'm in the city today. Between walking errands and a nice run in Central Park I'm now at 60/75. I think I've got this....

Wishing you ALL with ailments a QUICK and inexpensive recovery! I'm hoping with not being at the school & not having my grandsons all that often that maybe I won't be picking up any colds or flu bugs!
Rode my ex-bike to goal this evening. (13miles)

Happy to report that two more have passed their GOAL lines! @VHUBER & @POWER0304!!

Also another mindblowing achievement is that @LOVEMYALEX has become the first to break the 40K wall in Lifetime MYAC miles!!! It doesn't seem all that long ago that we were cheering her 35K victory! Incredible!

As for me, I'm still laid up with my bronchitis and head cold, but I'm hoping it's turning a corner toward the better. THANK YOU for all of the well wishes! :flowerforyou:

I may be heading for an abrupt halt here. My Dr and I decided today that a medication Clonazapam (benzodiazapine/opiate derivative) must be stopped. I have been on it for 6 years, way to long. So the process has begun. It is not going to be easy and there will be effects that are not going to be easy to deal with like withdrawals. A drug this powerful is going to have an effect on my mental health and physical health. I am going to keep on going, doing my miles and stuff. But if things get too far out of control, I will throw out the anchor and stop.

    10/22 - 23.0 miles turbo trainer
    10/23 - 01.0 miles rest day walk
    10/24 - 23.0 miles turbo trainer
    10/24 - 1.0 miles walk w/grand kids

    Total: 470.0 miles

    Ticker took a dump: 445 + 25 = 470 miles

    Welcome back Sugarnspice!

@Dave: Well that just stinks that you are feeling bad. My remedy: hot green tea with fresh ginger, lemon and honey.

@Lovemyalex: Congrats on the new milestone. Just think, you have made it around the earth over one and one half times.....Amazing! And with a bionic knee to boot.

Well I am not suffering from dementia. The nurse finally called me back after a 24 hour and wait had me go get my blood checked. My seizure med was twice the level it should be. I am relieved to know I was not going crazy.

Oct. 24: Adding 13 miles today of purposeful walking and running somewhat with my students. Also an intense hour of refereeing and running up and down the gym.
    TTD: 283 miles

    24th: 7 miles, 4.27 run , 2.73 purposeful walking - MTD 101.73

Our club run tonight was along Blackpool Promenade (30 mins each way - some of our speedier runners did 10 miles). Fabulous fun, and VERY busy with tourists there for the ‘Lights’

@JTH11706 - there will be another exercise bike session tonight :'( , but that’s what is needed to hang on to my streak!!
@anaconda469 - big hugs from across the pond. You will need every ounce of your indomitable strength - but you’re the woman to beat this..... and we’ll be here to support throughout.
@clepant - that’s fab news. Do you have a route to challenge the dosage issue?
@Lovemyalex - YaY, 40k lifetime MFP miles, I’m chasing after you as fast as I can, but it may be some time before I catch you up!!

    @darkrider42 - Feel better soon!!!

@Calliope610 - Good job getting the bike tire fixed! I have been thinking about what I will do when that eventually happens to my bike. My first option was just to buy a new bike! LOL!

    10/16 - 8 miles
    10/17 - 8 miles
    10/18 - 6 miles
    10/19 - 9 miles
    10/21 - 8 miles
    10/23 - 11 miles

    140/150

Went to OH for my 30th HS reunion this past weekend and was still able to get in some good miles on 2 of the 4 days. It was so nice to have some cool weather for a few days. Loved it!!!

    @lovemyalex Wow and congrats!
@anaconda469 You can do this. There are ways to assist people with stopping long term meds, I see it all the time, so be sure to utilize the resources that can help you.

Adding 1 mile for laps before this morning's class. The class then proceeded to whip all our butts, but in a good way. I feel bad for the guy who has to clean the floor.

The Ticker site is misbehaving so it's 40.2/40

Going back to work tonight after being off for 12. It's also my LAST shift there. I'm leaving to take another job in a different hospital system. After almost thirty years of Labor and Delivery (in three states) and seventeen years of 12 hour nights, I'm taking a position in an OB/Gyn office as a charge RN, M-F, 8-5, no weekends/holidays/bad weather days. I'm excited about it, my current job is sucking the life out of me, not enough nurses, new clinics bringing in more patients (who are sicker)/not enough beds, and a lot more. It's made me a cranky (ok, the b word) unhappy person and I need to find my soul again. Just the past few weeks of knowing it's happening has made me so much happier and peaceful, so I know it's the right move.

CONGRATS to @KAR328 on making GOAL!!! :drinker: And I'm so happy for you that after paying your dues for SO LONG, you get to have a reasonable, more like NORMAL, work schedule now! That was a long time to be in that environment. Hopefully you won't mind just a few more routine, mundane patients?

@ANACONDA469 - My son was on a low dose of that for a few years and he came out okay. I trust that your doctor will take the time to taper very slowly so that you don't feel like the rug has gotten pulled out from under you. (((HUGS))) :flowerforyou: And if they didn't offer anything like what @KAR328 mentioned in the way of withdrawal resources, I'm sure she wouldn't mind one bit if you contacted her on the side via PM for more info...

    @CLEPANT - OMG! I must've missed something! I'm glad you're okay! :flowerforyou:

@K80FLEC - What a gorgeous and fun backdrop for a run!! you must've just floated past it on the energy.

As for me, still coughing my lungs out. As sore as my abs are getting from it, maybe it's doing a little good too! I'm still home from work today (day #3), but I might have to go at least make an appearance tomorrow for a couple of hours. I just have to keep taking it easy. The doc wouldn't give me antibiotics (yet), but she gave me steroids and told me to keep taking the over the counter stuff as long as it seems to be working. And to drink water like it's my full-time job. lol
