So happy for the weekend. Yesterday I had a third grade boy refuse to get on the bus. He took off running. I am glad for my ability to still run at almost 64. Sent a teacher through the school, my young teammate out the other side and we headed him off on our running trail. Crazy week to say the least but parents told me their kids loved the obstacle course.
Adding 13 miles for Oct. 20 of purposeful walking and running after work for a head clearer.
TTD: 235 miles
@ Love the pics Dave.
@Janet: I so know that feeling so well. Makes running so rewarding. Great work.
@Lisah8969: Keep going. We will be your motivations. You can do this girl. Dig deep.
Thanks to all for the prayers and encouragement. I truly love this group and sometimes I just need to say things to people who don't mind and care. Your the bestest!1 -

MIA again!!
I’m finally over the sinus/flu type bug - just about. The bit of good news is that my OH seems well - we have a Urology consultant appointment for Dec, by which time his body will have recovered from the interventions made during his emergency hospital admission.
@sussexbythesea - stay safe. It looks like you’re going to get the brunt of Storm Brian. I’m listening to it whistle round the chimney pots!!
@clepant - you are truly amazing - you keep on keeping on in the face of some mind bending challenges. I often think of what you conquer when I think I might be having a bad day - then I pull up my big girl pants and get on with it!!
@kar328 - hope you have made the most of your annual leave - sounds like you had a plan ...
Ten days left and 85 miles to go .... I may lose my streak
Edited for typo0 -
@k80flec: I am glad to hear your bug is over. Glad that your husband has stabilized and praying things go smoothly from this point on.
No kudos for me.....l think God has a lot to teach me and I am failing miserably. I do know that there is no doubt is is time to retire. If I ever was unsure, I am sure now.
Oct 21: Adding 13 miles of purposeful walking and free miles of running.

@clepant , "if" you forget we'll for sure to remind you!! LOL
@k80flec, glad to hear you are feeling better. Don't push yourself to where it hangs on or comes back!!
Tried to be nice to my heel on Thurs & Fri cuz it was real sore again but today I did 2.5 on foot & 10 on ex bike. This morning I marched in place trying to stay warm at my grandsons soccer game. (40* temps & 25 mph wind). Should have checked to see how far I moved in that hour! LOL

OK a long update! Marathon done - I found it hard as I got a cough and cold on the way to the airport and found it hard to breathe and run at same time. I did finish but slower than I would have liked.

8.5 mile walk and 3 mile run = 11.5 miles
MTD - 101.9/1101 -
adding 4.5 miles. I did a 1 mile race this morning, I skipped the 5 miles because of an achilles issue. It didn't feel like my best run, but the time came out to 7:59.66. My runkeeper app had me a few seconds longer, but also gave the distance as 0.85miles. I went with my trainer, she ran the 5 and she thought the distances were off too, she uses Map My Run. I know my app has done some weird and funky things with distances and this is an established race with the same route each year (over 5000 runners), so I'm confused as to which one I should believe. I did try to push my pace since it was a mile and I've broken the 9 min mark a few times before, but this seems puzzling. The rest of my miles was me taking a walk outside, it's another gorgeous day.

Congratulations to Sussexbythesea on making goal! Woot woot!
Hope everyone had a great weekend. I feel surprisingly good after my 20 mile run. I'm going into the city tomorrow for some appointments and hoping to do a loop around Central Park.
@Kar328 - fantastic time. I wish I could do an 8 minute mile.
@leanz - congratulations on the marathon! I'm sorry you weren't 100%. Good for you for doing it anyway.
@k80flec - glad you're better. Can you get on your bike and ride to make your miles?

22nd: 5.5 miles - MTD 81.17
@Leanz - well done on completing that marathon, particularly if you were feeling under par.
@JTH11706 - good thinking Batwoman, I can spend some time on the stationary bike!!
@clepant - not a failure, a work in progress maybe
@kar328 - a fantastic mile!
@anaconda469 - not quite so strenuous, but I’m hoping to do a Park Run 5k on NY Day - the day after my birthday!! It was great fun last year.1 -
@k80flec: Definitely a work in progress.
@Kar328: Ditto to Janet's comment. I don't even remember ever running an 8....9 definitely but no 8. Good job!
@anaconda469: You amaze me.
@vhuber: keep reminding me....please. I am so sorry your heel is still giving you issues. I guess the Protalis were a flop. So sad they have not worked.
Oct. 22: Adding 10 for Sunday. I have been having some issues with eyes, agitation, shakes, confusion, headache, lack of appetite, nervousness, drowsiness and I think I figured out what is going on. I think my Dilantin level is too high again since the doctor insisted on increasing them. I have been experiencing this for two weeks now. At least I feel better because I thought it was dementia setting in.

Adding 2.1 miles. Part of today's Boot Camp was picking cards to see which exercise we were all doing and if joker popped up, the person had to roll a big die to see how many laps around the turf we had to run. Luckily no one rolled the six. (well, someone kind of did, then quickly gave it a little kick and it flipped to the 1)

I am going to have to drop my mileage this month down to 35. MTD, I only have 23.97 miles in and feeling quite craptastic about it.
The past 10 days have been ridiculous with seizures, testing, and doctor appointments-no reason for the seizures they can find. I beat the holy snot out of myself, my right side looks like someone took a cricket bat to it. I am also back to the Thou Shalt Not Drive commandment, which is lousy because I live 10 miles out in the blasted country.
On the flip side, since I'm back to the Thou Shalt Not Drive, no travel out of the area which got me out of a work conference on Thursday *AND* a family reunion this weekend.
