Do you eat breakfasts on feast days? You could also try just eating a 16:8 schedule on your feast days or maybe on some of your feast days. I think that would help a lot.

I don't usually eat until around 11:00 and eat until late in the evening on feast days. If I stop eating by 7 that will be the 16:8 so I will give that a shot.

I am going to have to add water fast days into my maintenance plan. I am currently not doing well on my OMAD days and feel I would do better not eating. So Mondays and Thursdays will be my water fast days. I can't talk myself out of them if I want to maintain my weight. I usually eat early on Sundays after church so I won't eat anything after my after church meal on Sunday until my dinner meal on Tuesday. This will be about a 48+hour fast. Then we have Bible study on Wednesday so I will eat my meal around 5:30 and then will not eat again until Friday around the same time which will be a 48 hour fast as well. Incorporating these will definitely help so after tomorrow's 2:30 birthday dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse, I will drink only water until my OMAD dinner meal on Tuesday. I can not fail on this.

    Friday - OMAD
    Saturday - Feast
    Sunday - Feast
    Monday - Water Fast
    Tuesday - OMAD
    Wednesday - OMAD
    Thursday - Water Fast

Well, I've decided to hold off on today's water fast and opted for an early lunch time OMAD meal of Chinese food. One plate from the buffet. My standard Chinese buffet plate. This meal was eaten around noon so that will be all I eat today until my OMAD dinner tomorrow. My weight was 152.5 this morning so I had a loss of 0.4 pounds from Friday's weigh in with my feast days. I think eating my meal early yesterday helped.

I think on days that I can eat my OMAD meal early, I will which will put me in the fasted state longer on the day following where I eat a dinner meal.

I haven't really been going all out on my feast days. They have been more of an OMAD with more food than normal or some snacking after my meal. I think I am kind of hesitant of going all out and really splurging since it takes me so long to bounce back from the splurge gains. I don't think I could take a 7 pound splurge gain right now. I still haven't bounced back from the 3.5 pound gain from my first weekend.

Sounds like you have a good approach!

I honestly don't think I'll ever be able to go all out on a feast day. For me, it would probably lead to a quick downfall and it would take me months to get back on track...

I think I'm going to stick with OMAD unless I am in danger of becoming underweight. And that makes me laugh out loud as I very much doubt I'll ever get to that point (though if I do, I will thoroughly enjoy gaining the weight back, ha!)!!

My early eating strategy worked again. I was down to 151.9 this morning.

Today will be a dinner OMAD. I took out and have some chicken legs marinating. I want to try frying them in my new air fryer. I will have that along with some roasted brussel sprouts and maybe some macaroni and cheese. I will be sure to photograph my meal.

Do you just whip that up, Tracey? Any one of those meal components would take me a bit of planning! And I'd never manage to get it all done at the same time. Looks very tasty.

How is the air fryer? I keep looking at them in the store and not buying one because they just seem so big and I really wonder if I'd use it. But then I hear people raving about them and how they use them tons, so can't decide...

I marinated the chicken before I went to work, the macaroni and cheese was left over from last night ( I doctored it up a bit) and the roasted brussel sprouts were green giant frozen steamers. I put the chicken in the air fryer and it cooked in 20 minutes.

I love my air fryer. The chicken was so good. I ended up eating 2 additional pieces tonight. My air fryer definitely gets a lot of use.

Yesterday's Thanksgiving meal. Was up 3 pounds this morning after that meal. It was worth it, but glad that day is gone so I can get back within my maintenance window. I also had some banana pudding and drank (non-alcoholic sparkling beverages and punch) a great bit of calories as well.

Weight was up to 156.3 this morning. Way too many feast days this week, but I have my head back in the maintenance game and while we still have a lot of thanksgiving leftovers, I don't plan on feasting like I did yesterday. I have to get back towards the lower end of my maintenance range so today will be an OMAD small plate day.

I have not held to my maintenance eating plan yet in my first two weeks of maintenance and this has to stop. This week (starting today) I plan on doing 7 OMAD small plate days. No feast days this week.

    Catching up!
I really like your chart with the notes. I feel like that will be so helpful as you move forward!
I also REALLY like the small plate idea! That's so smart for cutting some calories without needing to count.
What kind of air fryer do you have? I am thinking of getting one now that I am eating fish again. I have been doing a lot of pan frying, and I really want to cut the oil if I can!

I have the power xl air fryer and power xl air fryer oven. I also have the breville smart oven air. They are all great and have features that the other doesn't have. I got the air fryer first and love it and then got the air fryer oven because it does rotisserie also. The smart oven air dehydrates, air frys, toasts, roasts, reheats, warms, roasts, bakes and doesn't heat up the kitchen like the main oven. I am an accessory girl and I have all three out on my counters.

Thanks, Tracey! I am also big on accessories and have a bunch on my counter. I have a separate dehydrator and toaster oven, so I am thinking I should get the smart oven to replace those two!

I love the smart oven air. I moved the toaster to the basement when I got my smart oven air. I only wish I had counter space for my Instant Pot. I moved it to the pantry when I got my air fryer oven but it gets pulled out for frequent use.

Today's small plate OMAD meal. Meal eaten at 4:00pm

    bli2aoml3hk7.jpg

I actually got a good amount of food on the smaller plate. I may just continue eating off of this plate for a while.

I took a picture of my two plates so that you can see the difference between my normal plate and smaller plate.

Small plate is so smart. My mind didn’t even register that the first picture wasn’t a “normal” portion because the plate was full, but it is LOADS smaller than your normal plate! I will definitely be keeping that in my back pocket for breaking stalls.
