Back to work today...long day and I do not take a lunch ... everything is at my desk...trying to keep it with small bites of whatever. Today, going into my lunch bag:
HB egg
Green Juice
Cherry Toms
Red Bell Pepper slices with hummus (I bought the individual organic ones at Costco...more inviting to take along with veggies)
Zoodles with onions and mushrooms and marinara in one of those Sistema cups...easy to eat my desk.
Yogurt
Silver, I use mostly zucchini and yellow squash right now. And yes, I cook the zoodles a little before adding the marinara...keeping some crunch to them before adding the sauce, so they do not turn to mush.
This gal has great info on the subject...I use her gizmo: https://inspiralized.com0 -
OMG...I tasted the zoodles mixture cold...soooooooooooo good. I'm excited about that. NOW I have something to take to work that is easy to make, easy to eat.1

I’m just not myself. I totally went off the rails the last two days. Back at it today...just feel sad...missing Ernestine so much...April 4th is her adoption Birthday...2003,,,I weighed 240 then...it was because of her that I got healthy...and now, I am dealing with this horrible knee pain...I just can’t be a good mom to Lulu. I am a mess. Calling tomorrow to see if I can get another cortisone shot to at least get rid of the pain so I can walk Lulu and play with her. Right now, I am just angry all the time because of the pain. Phew.
All the junk food made it worse...and I gained six pounds in two days. Eating raw today with juicing and salads and a few shrimp cocktail.
I really need a new knee but cant afford to leave work for that much time to heal. I need a few more years to get in a good place financially. Life is just hard right now...and the pain...man, it’s so depressing. The pain just makes everything hard.0 -
Got through the day with mostly juice...a few bites of tuna salad that I made for tomorrow lunch at work and about 6 - 8 shrimp cocktail. Then mean green and carrot orange, freshly juiced.
Paid close attention to getting up from the chair as not to put too much pressure on my left knee. As soon as I am set with my taxes and knowing exactly what I owe, I am going to get a new chair...a Lazy Boy that will give me the ease of getting in and out ... makes a huge difference.
Missing Ernestine a lot right now, but trying to show Lulu as much love as possible so she knows she has a safe and loving home here. But man, my heart is still broken ...
It would help if I could go to the gym and do some serious cardio...but that is not in the cards right now. Perhaps I will find my way to the pool soon.
Night all. Thanks for listening.0 -
So sorry. I can feel your frustration from here! Hope things ease for you soon.1
-
Morning...still sad but better. The juicing helps. And of course, staying away from junk food really helps. So not me.
Today,
Juicing
Wild Planet Tuna (got it at costco) with a little Light Mayo and Eggs
raw veggies and hummus
salad with beans, avocado and sunflower seeds, dressing of pico de gallo
All of this would be easy to deal with ...well, manageable if I were not in so much pain. I am calling today after work. I am not sure they are too keen on the idea for another coritsone shot...had one in early January and then I got the Monovisc injections about 5 weeks ago. The coritsone worked. The Monovisc did not.
Anyway, I hate being so sedentary...but that is it for now. I got up about three times during the night to change ice packs to relieve the pain. Not a great way to live. Hoping to get the cortisone. Fingers crossed.
Hugs. Love you guys!

Just a note regarding junk food and my body...it sure does make me anxious, in addition to being bad for joints, etc.
Feeling much calmer today, even though knee is messed up.
Good reason to stay on the straight and narrow. Life is hard enough...better to treat it with respect so it responds like needed.0 -
In the movie, Sick Fat and Nearly Dead...juicing worked for so many things...I am going to work my way to a full juicing diet for at least 3 days...and then go from there. I would like to do a 15 day guided reboot with the Joe Cross Team. We'll see. I need to do something about the inflammation around my knee. This might work...better than the other options right now. Later, gan.0
-
Oh, Magic. I am so sorry you are having such a tough time. Life does throw these things at us sometimes. I hope you can get the cortisone shot and that it helps. Meanwhile, love up that Lulu--it will do you both good.1
-
Magic, I have to get back on the straight and narrow too. I went to the doctor today and both my blood sugar and my blood pressure are way up. So, I intend to eat better and love up my Daisy.1

Doc won't see me until we hit the six week mark after Monovisc injections...appointment 4/24 Maybe it will feel better by then. Here's hoping.
15 years ago today, I adopted Little Miss Ernestine...not an easy day. But all the wonderful memories I still have by being her mom...they help. She was such a good friend...such an easy dog to care for. Man, do I ever miss her.

I've been doing a poor job of getting back to SB, and as a result, my weight is climbing up . I need to get really serious. I think this weekend, I will reread my SB book and try to get back on track.
Today:
Br: V8, All-Bran Bran Buds, banana, skim milk
Lu: spinach salad with hummus, clementine, and Laughing Cow cheese wedge, ak mak crackers
Sn: pear/skim mozzarella stick, yogurt/apple
Di: mixed green salad with Bolthouse dressing, broiled salmon and some veggie TBD, Dave's killer thin bread slice, NO pistachios (I think I've been eating too many of them)2 -
Here's to a good eating day, today, Silver! I am going to stick with what I brought and that's it. I am way too fluffy.
I have finally come to the realization I am going to be working for a long time. I might as well be as healthy as possible...makes the day so much more enjoyable. And it would help if I could buy some cute clothes ... and not just stuff to cover up all the lumps and bumps.
Time to get SERIOUS here, as well.0 -
So, I was just beyond sick of this knee pain...and I decided to try juicing...I have watch Sick, Fat and Nearly Dead part 1 and 2 a zillion times and believe in it...I have just never juiced ONLY. I have used the homemade juices in conjunction with my healthy menu.
Started Tuesday 4/10. That night, I did NOT have to sleep with ice bags on my knee to numb the pain in my left knee, for the first time since October, when the pain started getting out of control.
Day 4. Feeling great...first day at work, juicing. Brought 80 ounces of juice. My supervisor is totally on board and supportive.0 -
Starting Weight 4/10 147
4/13 140.6
Mostly water, of course, but fun to see the number go down so fast. Feel amazing...good energy, mental clarity...happier! Much happier.0 -
Glad the pain is subsiding, Magic.
I've been eating better lately since I was diagnosed with high blood pressure. Not so much prepared foods--too high in sodium. I've been cooking more.
Today:
Br: V8, All-Bran Bran Buds, banana, skim milk
Lu: spinach salad with hummus, clementine, and Laughing Cow cheese wedge, ak mak crackers
Sn: pear/skim mozzarella stick, yogurt/apple
Di: mixed green salad with Bolthouse dressing, Chicken Gruyere and some veggies, Dave's killer thin bread slice, kiwi0 -
Morning, Silver...well, yeah, I mean it is nothing short of a miracle. I am still only down 6 pounds...but for me, not having that horrible pain during the night is enough to keep me going. Once done with the "reboot", I will go into a plant based diet.
Today is day Five...
Glad you are helping yourself to lower your BP.
Have a good day.0 -

I'm so glad you're feeling better. I wonder if there's something in what you DO normally eat that exacerbates the pain? For me, it's usually grains. Hope you keep feeling well!1 -
Yep. Gluten exacerbates inflammation...the culprit! So working on anti inflammatory diet...to start, lots of juicing and some fresh veggies and fruits. Yesterday was not the greatest day but still woke up perky!
Today
Juice. Mean green and sunrise. Adding pineapple to mean green and watermelon to sunrise
Carrots hummus. Individual cups from Costco organic
Zucchini
Strawberries
Vegetable broth
Broccoli
Herbal tea
Not sure if gluten in the hummus
0 -
Ah yes, gluten That's why you see so few wheat based things in my daily posting. Real hummus should be gluten free, and grain free. Hope you're feeling better.

Breakfast: protein bar
sn: olives
lu: chicken breast, with mixed vegetables
sn: popcorn
di: chicken, black soybean corn chili
