Argggg! I keep saying I'm going to be more rigorous about my SB, then I go and blow it. I've put on 4 lbs. since my husband's death in January. Maybe this will be my wake-up call. I need to do better. Thanks for letting me vent.

    Welcome home, Sabine.

Blood pressure about two months ago 140/90

    Today 126/79

Will continue on with my whole foods/plant based diet. BTW, I threw away all my zip fizz...raised my BP I think.

    Today will be

    carrots and hummus
    carrot/orange/beets/pineapple juice
Green Juice...trying a recipe with cabbage. Think I will be adding apple, lemon and ginger.

Spiralzing zucchini, sweet potato, garlic...and boy, I just don't know what to top it with, other than parm/reggiano.

Apparently nightshade veggies are not good if you have arthritis...https://www.livestrong.com/article/367949-list-of-nightshade-vegetables-fruits/ oh brother.

    Tea and prunes for dessert.

I am going to try and pedal my stationary recumbent pedal machine today...have not used it in almost a year...I am getting a bit more range of motion because of my new way of eating.

I wouldn't be surprised if it raised BP magic71755, it's quite a bit of caffeine.
Well done on the food choices!

    Today...hmmmm????

Juice (cabbage, apple, oh gosh, can't remember what I put in it.)

I think some scrambled eggs with green chili salsa and avocado

    Juice Red

    Don Lee Farms Superfoods patty

Juice Green (kale, cuke, lots of celery, apple, ginger, lemon)

Zoodles, sweet potato, mushrooms, tiny bit of parm/reg OR marinara...it's either, or. Both are not the greatest for me...I so miss my Recipe #99 marinara from TJs. -sigh-

    Thanks, Magic, I'm back.

I'v actually been eating well, though not checking in here. MY sugar is back down below 100 (yay!), but my blood pressure is elevated, so now I'm on medication for that. The joys of getting older ;-). Still, it beats the alternative.

Magic, is it the fizz or the caffeine that raises the BP? I drink carbonated water. Could that be a contributor to elevated BP?

    Today:

Br: V8, All-Bran Bran Buds, banana, blueberries, skim milk
Lu: spinach salad with hummus, clementine, and Laughing Cow cheese wedge, ak mak crackers
    Sn: pear/skim mozzarella stick, yogurt/apple
Di: mixed green salad with Bolthouse dressing, broiled salmon, edamame, Dave's killer thin bread slice, pistachios (I've switched to no -salt here).

I do not think it is the carbonated water...

It's all the stuff in the zipp fizz. I did like it...gave me a kinda buzz...but then, all of a sudden my BP was up.

It still is not down to being great, but it is better...going in the right direction. was 140/90

    Tuesday it was 126/79 better.

    Juicing helps! A lot!

    FYI only.

    http://www.healthy-juicing.com/juicing-for-high-blood-pressure/

In my green juice, I am now adding TWO bunches of celery, instead of one. Juicing takes time...but I think it is worth it. I make enough for two days, then freeze the rest in mason quart jars...just leave room for expansion when juice freezes.

Up, drinking coffee BLACK...that is so crazy for me. I think I can get used to it...but am going to try almond milk.

Today, I am taking with me to work: (13 hour day)

1 red juice (beets, carrots, oranges) 16 ounces
2 green juices (kale, celery, cukes, apples, lemon, ginger, pineapple) 16 ounces each

    carrots and hummus
    cucumber slices
    prunes
    almonds and walnuts

I am gearing up for a 7 day Joe Cross Juice Challenge May 14...I am not sure I can juice only. Will try...I have no idea how people do it.

Okie, doke, have a great day!

Di: not sure--may be going Chinese, in which case steamed chicken with broccoli. Will skip the soup, which is probably high in sodium.

    Hey...putting this question out there...

So, I have been off of all wheat ... and grain since April 10th. My pain in my left knee really went down...A LOT. Mostly jucing...eating veggies with a tiny bit of parm/reg...a little marinara sauce...and still no change...pain is under control.

Just in the last week or so, I have been having Don Lee Farms Superfood veggie burgers...pain has just started, again with vengeance, in my left knee. Could it be the burgers...there is wheat flour in them.

I only have two left. I just tossed them so I am not tempted. Hoping that is the reason. Even though I love love love those veggie burgers.

All I know is that when I started on the juice thing...making it a big portion of my food intake, the pain really subsided.

Juice challenge begins tomorrow. I am going to do it...but will add fresh fruit and veggies at night...plain.
