The ending of JC has always been controversial (whether or not to include any reference to the resurrection) but having seen the end of this version, I liked it. Hopefully I'll like the other two hours although (1) reviews are mixed and (2) there are apparently TONS of commercials that sort of disrupt the actors.0

Pam - good one!!!
The sad thing is I've had no liquor in several years. One of the few dieting things I've stuck with is not drinking calories. I have NO idea why that one stuck.0 -
Alcohol probably wasn't a big deal to you. That makes it easier to give up. I have an occasional glass of wine with dinner so not having any wouldn't be that hard for me either. I just saw a funny story on TMZ. Cesar Milan left his unlocked car in his driveway. A burglar broke into the car, took items and used the garage door opener. The dogs heard him, ran from the backyard through the doggie door and went after him. It was Junior and a bunch of the small yappie dogs Cesar said the dogs didn't bite him and he said the guy took off running. we0

I really do enjoy a nice glass of wine, especially with certain foods, but generally only have 1-2 glasses of wine per week and I do scale that back when I’m dieting. So far, I’m down 5 pounds on my NS reboot, after almost 8 weeks. I wish it was more, but I’ve had quite a few special occasions and a wedding weekend that took me off-plan, so I’m grateful that I’ve lost anything at all.
Yesterday I had a quick visit with my sister. She was on her way to visit her middle daughter and family in Williamsburg, VA, with a dog in tow for her grandson. That proved to be an adventure! The dog was being shipped as cargo because he was too big to fit under the seat, so we had to get him to the airport earlier than she needed to be there. He was a shelter rescue that her older daughter and family had adopted, but due to a divorce he was no longer in a good situation so the middle daughter and family said they would like to have him for their 10 year old son. The dog is a Jack Russel terrier mix, so he’s pretty hyper. He barked and howled all the way from my house to the cargo place, which was about 15 minutes away. My poor sister had to endure that for 2 hours from her house to mine, so I guess I had the better deal, by far. Anyway, once we got to the cargo shipping place, there was a lot of paperwork to be completed, and then they refused to allow the pet carrier she had for him because they said it wasn’t big enough. They sold her one for $135, which was not a bargain but we didn’t have time to go somewhere else and buy one. After nearly an hour it was all done and we were able to leave. We went to The Cheesecake Factory and had a nice lunch before I took her back to the airport for her flight. This morning she reported that the dog made the trip just fine and he and her grandson seem to be in love with each other. He had worried about whether the dog would “take” to him, so apparently all is well!0 -
My sister's dog is a Jack Russell. He's pretty mellow and rarely barks Hopefully he'll settle down and like his new home. Congrats on 5 pounds. With wedding and holiday, that's pretty good. we0

When i mentioned settling down, I meant the dog your sister took to VA., not my sister's dog.0

I watched the first hour of JC Superstar last night. I can't believe I remember almost every word. I new it would stir up a lot of memories but not that I'd remember it THAT well.
There was another voice I immediately had to identify because it struck me as powerful:
But there were still plenty of other big talents taking the stage who might not be so recognizable. So who plays Pontius Pilate in Jesus Christ Superstar Live?
The man behind the role is Ben Daniels, who viewers might recognize from projects like The Exorcist, House of Cards, and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. That's right — the man singing on your screen on Easter Sunday was none other than Claire Underwood's former lover, just minus the mustache, and also Galactic Civil War General Antoc Merrick. He's also appeared in shows like Law & Order: UK and Flesh And Bone.
And, though these are the roles that a more mainstream audience might recognize him from, Daniels is no stranger to stage roles like in Jesus Christ Superstar. According to Playbill, he has several stage credits to his name, and even garnered a Tony nomination for best actor in 2008 for his role in Les Liaisons Dangereuses. Daniels definitely has a diverse repertoire, and it makes sense — he said in a 2015 interview with Backstage.com that he's always learning with each new project.0 -
I watched the special on Andrew Lloyd Webber that celebrated his 70th birthday. They kept mentioning JCS live special but they talked about the history and played clips from many of his other shows. It was interesting. I'm looking forward to watching JCS in the next day or so. Thanks for the info on Ben Daniels. I probably would have been thinking he looked familiar without knowing why. I'll probably recognize him from House of Cards. We've been watching the Crown on Netflix. Queen Elizabeth is a much stronger person that I ever realized.0

Survivor:
CBS gave away this week's boot. They posted the photo of Jeff snuffing this week's boot's torch BEFORE Wednesday. Of course they took it down quickly but not quickly enough! OOPS!

Helene - I wanted to DVR that special but there were two other shows I wanted more (I can only DVR two at a time; old equipment). I'll have to be on the lookout for a repeat.

Pam - too funny! I don't think I've ever seen one with that pattern. Of course I've heard the white color gene referred to as the "clown gene" often enough to know there can be white in strange places/patterns.0

So funny

Facially, that looks like 2 of my cats. Midnight was black and white and Cheyenne was gray and white and she had the pink nose. Both had little white socks. The mis-matched socks in the photo are a riot. Seeing this beings back memories. Midnight s gone over 2 years and Cheyenne died 3 year ago.0 -
I've been back for almost a week. I came back with the symptoms of a cold developing, and the symptoms were realized. The cold wasn't that bad but just enough to make you tired and a little uncomfortable on top of my already being exhausted. It was a very good trip, with the 3 course dinners, breakfast and free wine in international economy kicking the trip off to a good start and also a good ending.0
-
Jean, sounds like you had a good time! I’m sorry you came back with a cold but hopefully you’ll kick it to the curb soon.
We are having crazy weather here. Yesterday we had highs in the upper 70’s, today we woke up near freezing and the temps barely made it to the 40’s.

Jean - so glad you're back!!!! But sorry you haven't been feeling well.0
-
Crazy weather here, too! At one point this week they were forecasting 3-6 inches of snow yesterday. Flea market we were to do cancelled. We ended up getting nothing. Zip. Zero. But it's chilly.0

Typical full English breakfast: egg, sausage, potato, beans, mystery veggie, etc. with coffee or tea. How is that for a low calorie start to the day?
0 -
I always thought the beans and grilled tomato were rather odd additions to breakfast, but they seem to love it in England! That’s a lot of food to start the day on.

Jean - that's a LOT of breakfast!! Is that an English muffin? Appropriate. LOL!0

Breakfast is my favorite meal but this one is huge! We used to have breakfast at a local place in town. They served all their egg dishes with a side of beans and a mini corn bread loaf. I say mini but t was bigger than a large corn muffin. Did you have a good time on the trip?0

Snow showers here in Baltimore. On April 9. Geesh!
Took Jessicat for chemo today. Next month will be two years since she was diagnosed. Her weight has been fairly steady since early December when we concluded she was most likely out of remission and started her on the "rescue" chemo. They cautioned me that it's only 40% effective but I can't help but think it's working since her weight has stabilized again.0 -
