I just had a good laugh. My phone rang and the caller ID said it was from “Illegal Scam”. I was almost tempted to answer as a reward for their “honesty”, lol!

Pam--That is a great Caller ID you have!!

I've spent the afternoon watching a 600Lb Life marathon while sorting clothes. Do I keep or do I let it go?

I made a shocking discovery yesterday. I have a credit card on which I put most of my purchases and pay in full each month. I've been letting the rewards accumulate for a long time. I'm almost at the point where the cash back will pay for most of the room in Australia.

Now, what was the big discovery? I was bored yesterday so I looked at the year end summaries for the past two years and discovered that June is the month of my biggest expenditures. Now, what is this month? June! Now, to cut the June spending back!

I knew it would be about time for the weight loss to stop despite doing all the right things, plus I always gain a little when starting an exercise program. I'm trying not to break over so I've been reading. You have likely tried most of these but here we go!

Remember Michele used to mention a plateau buster she had success with? As I recall, it used salmon and broccoli. Do any of you remember the details? She swore by it helping to jump start her weight loss.

Pam, that's so funny about the caller ID. We're using caller ID to screen since we get so many telemarketing calls. If we don't recognize the number, we don't answer. They rarely leave a message.

just had my first post surgery doctor's appointment. The doctor is pleased, he says everything is going exactly as it should be. I now have a removable brace and will start physical therapy next Thursday. It definitely feels better not having that heavy cast-equivalent squeezing my swollen fingers together and feeling like a vise around my wrist.

His best guess is that I should be able to drive in three weeks give or take although I can't lift anything for at least six weeks. Full recovery is probably three months overall.

Maryanne--Great news! The three months full recovery period will quickly pass, but driving in three weeks is a real key to freedom.

Maryanne, I’m so glad your wrist is healing well and you’re in a more comfortable brace now. Each step forward feels so good, even though progress feels like it’s happening at a snails pace.

I had an appointment this morning for lab work before I see the endocrinologist PA next week to order my next Prolia injection. I couldn’t remember if I was supposed to fast so I erred on the side of caution on that. I did drink about 36 ounces of water before going though, and that made it easy for the phlebotomist to get my vein on the first try. I’m always a bit anxious about blood draws after having a bad experience trying to get an IV started several years ago.

My weight continues to go up and down but I’m getting close now to 10 pounds and I’m very happy with that. I met some friends last night for Happy Hour and was able to wear a denim skirt that I bought 3 years ago but outgrew before I ever got to wear it. My friends were very complimentary and it made me feel very good.

Jean, that’s interesting about your review of your credit card expenditures. Was something unusual about your June spending patterns in those years?

Pam--Good job on approaching the ten pound loss, as well as being able to get into that denim skirt. Compliments go a long way in making you feel good and successful.

I looked at the details on the summary statements. Everything looks like normal expenditures involved with Summer such as home improvement, eating out, travel. This year, I'm watching June carefully.

I need to get ready to go to the senior center for exercise. I've switched to the treadmill as I have difficulty walking distances, and when I do it is at a slow pace.

I had my first massage yesterday since last fall. I really needed it. That long ride home really does a number on my body. I had aches in place I didn't even know hurt before she starting working on me. My friend has inherited her mother's cat. Her mom passed away 4 months ago. he told me that cat was very sweet but very shy. She said I probably wouldn't even see him because he'd hide. As it turned out, I could see him from across the room but if he thought I was going to try to get closer, he'd bolt. I was lying face down on the massage table with my arms dangling over the side. The cat walked under the table and brushed against my hands. We were both surprised. But when I was up and dressed again, he wouldn't come any closer than 5 feet without bolting.

Maryanne--Those memes are great! I had to share the one with the pig with a student who is a lover of pigs and raises them.

Helene--Your cat story reminds me of my sister-in-law here who went with me to Jersey to visit my other brother. She was not a cat lover but my brother was. When we went to bed, after a few minutes, I felt one or both of the cats exploring the bed. They ended up laying down on her stomach for a while. She said, "What am I going to do?" They left.

I just got back from having lab work done. No weight loss this week which I attribute to increasing exercise as calories and type haven't changed.

Off to eat breakfast of Egg Beaters Southwestern style, with a little salsa added.

It would be nice if you could stick a needle in yourself and suck the fat out.

    Maryanne--You find the best things!

I'll likely go to the city today to donate some items, have lunch with a friend and then pick up some grocery items.

I might consider going South for the Winter but there is a small thing called financing it to consider. Lucky birds!!

According to the Department of Exercise and Wellness at Arizona State University people who walk less than 5,000 steps a day may be said to have a sedentary lifestyle. People who walk between 5,000 and 7,499 steps daily are classified as low active; those walking between 7,500 and 9,999 steps are considered somewhat active; and those taking more than 10,000 steps daily are considered active. Two miles equates to about 10,000 steps. Highly active people take over 12,500 steps a day.

Jean-I am certainly not getting very many steps done while I'm here at home because DH is terrified of me getting on the treadmill. Hopefully, he will calm down and I can start to use some of this enforced at home time to get in a few more steps.

I haven't tried making eggs yet with one hand. DH is refusing to go to more than one grocery store so I don't even have any southwestern egg beaters right now.

I am too for a bone density test this year. I have to be sure to schedule that as soon as I can get out and about. Having just broken a bone, I imagine that's important.

Good news on getting close to 10 pounds God

I have a friend who answers all her calls. I don't answer anything unless I recognize the number. And if I think I recognize a number and turn out to be wrong, I do not hesitate to hang up on people.

I don't remember Michelle's binge buster. I do remember a special three day kit Nutrisystem use to sell. I think somewhere I have an equivalent laid out(using their current foods or at least the foods that were current at the time) but I don't know where and I don't remember what they called it.

Oh just came to me they called it something like a three-day body boost?

Thanks to the voice recognition software, I am actually getting some work done means I can actually generate a little income. That's nice to know.

But overall this is going to be a long haul. I feel like I will know more once I start physical therapy this Thursday.

Maryanne--I'll check out that three-day body boost. Sometimes, I think my body just likes to stop and wait months before dropping again. All those posters on the message board thinks the solution is to eat more and more. If I ate the calories some of them suggest, I would rapidly gain. Supposedly, the number of calories I need to maintain my weight is around 1700 a day.

I do hope your physical therapy goes well and that the voice recognition software continues to work well for you.

Jean, I think there’s a NS refugees forum here on MFP that Michelle might be on. You might try reaching out on it to see if she or anyone else who is on it might remember her plateau buster.
