Sorry I have been so absent the ast couple of days! Friday was a busy end to the week, but I did track, was well under my calories, and went to pound class. On Saturday, we headed to PEI (where I am from) as my son had lacrosse games there. It was nice as my mom and friends were able to come watch. Then we took my mom out to dinner for an early Mother’s Day dinner. I didn’t work out, but I did stay under my calories. Today was a quieter day. Despite it being Mother’s Day, we headed to Costco and got everything ready for the week ahead. I did track and we are heading out for a walk with the puppies. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and Happy Mother’s Day to all of the moms out there!1

Today was my hubby's birthday and I baked him a Keto Chocolate Cake...really pretty proud of myself for this one, it was really good, although i only had a bite, I was impressed by how good it was, just saying.

It's funny that when I started lifting and going to the gym, I did it because I "had" to, otherwise I wasn't going to achieve the goal I set out for myself, which at the time was losing weight. Now, more than a year later, I don't look at it like that anymore. I GET to go to the gym and I look forward to it. I feel great when I see what I've accomplished and it's addicting. One day, you might look back and think something similar.

@IanMoone30 If I've said this once, I've said it a hundred times, your diet is far more important than your exercise. I think "they" say weight loss is 80% diet and 20% exercise...not really sure how well those numbers actually hold up because I can promise you, it's been mostly diet for me. Hang in there and it will work out!0 -

Question of the Week:
What is your strategy for staying on track with your diet and exercise plans?0 -
This weeks question:
I will be shocking my body with foods that I’m not used to eating. Tonight? Salad. I hate and avoid salads as much as possible. But this one isn’t so bad.
My exercise remains the same but Wednesday’s I start beach volleyball. Super stoked for that.

Daily Post: Sunday
Track?: Yes.
Calories: Definitely over my regular goal but under my maintenance which was my goal for Sunday anyway.
Exercise: No.
Water: Around 72 ounces
Comments: So I already knew that I wasn't going to be under my calories yesterday and I consumed more than the rest of the week. Today the scale had fluctuated up to 193.8 (as opposed to 192.3 the day before) but what did I expect, right? Anyway, it's just a fluctuation. No big deal. Today I didn't have time to make my salad so I had to go with leftover butter chicken and rice so I don't think the scale is going to be on my side tomorrow morning either but we'll see. TONIGHT I'm making my salad and making sure to eat very clean for the rest of the week.0 -
Question of the Week:
What is your strategy for staying on track with your diet and exercise plans?
I get up and work out before work, so that it's all done, and I don't have to worry about it later. As far as diet goes, I portion out my meals the night before. I can't always avoid temptation, however.

Mexiconona, Monday, May 14 th
Track yes
Calories yes
Exercise. Yes. 1 hr. weights, aerobics, sit-ups, Stretching, 1hr. 10 min.
I do better with fasting OMAD. That’s how I stay on track with my dieting. I skip breakfast and lunch and eat usually around 3;30 or 4:00 when I open my window for about 2 hrs. It is much easier for me to do OMAD because It is easier for me to control my diet for a couple of hours than all day. My window closes around 6pm. In the morning, I have 1tbsp vinegar and then have a couple cups of hot black coffee with a little pink salt
in them that cuts the bitterness of the coffee. I drink water and Earl Gray black iced tea with one stevia to a quart of tea all day. I make tea a couple times a day and that helps my husband to fast with me. Because my window for eating is small I appreciate a very nice dinner, trying to keep the carbs low and selecting healthy vegetables, delicious cheeses and my favorite meat, dark chicken, and sometimes fish. Today I completed a 21 hr. Fast. I use the app. Zero and enjoy checking it often to see the lengths of my fasts and it gives me encouragement. On Sunday, we go out to brunch with friends after church, so I open my window earlier. If we are invited to go to dinner or we entertain, I open my window then. I like to be able to have a nice meal once a day. This way of life gives me something to look forward to as well as an opportunity to try new recipes, and eat what I love. I also pray to Jesus for self control. I read books such as everything Dr. Jason Fung has written and Gin Stephens. I go on Facebook and read testimonies, look at pictures, encourage others every day from fasting groups and OMAD Gin Stephens site. I record my weight on the bathroom mirror in soap and weigh myself naked in the morning and record my weight. My husband records his weight on the mirror also and it helps us to encourage each other. We end the evening with 1 Tbsp. Apple cider vinegar again. We call it our evening cocktail.1 -

I posted yesterday but never did a daily post. Sunday is my rest day, and while I didn't really rest, there was important mothers day stuff to attend to.
Daily Post: (Monday)
GoalsMy efforts to throw together a carpentry project in two days have sadly come to naught.. I mean it takes 24 hours for wood glue to properly dry so what was I thinking lol. I will still finish it in my spare time, but for now back to the already long list of things that need doing.
Track: Yes
Calories:Yes.... Ate back all my calories, which I don't normally do or need to.
Exercise:Yes
Water Intake: Not enough
Question of the Week:
What is your strategy for staying on track with your diet and exercise plans?
To answer that I need to share a bit more of my journey than I normally do. And not because I'm shy about it, just because I'm not chasing any pity or anything lol.
I'm here as a result of a bad motor vehicle accident. Going on 9 years ago I was riding a motorbike and had a big 4x4 snap lane change straight over the top of me. He was so unaware of the incident he kept driving a while wondering what the strange sound was until a pedestrian jumped out and flagged him down to ask if he wanted to let the bloke out from under his car. The shortish version of a long story is I spent several years learning how to walk again and swapped my busy daily adventure sports lifestyle for becoming middle aged while sitting in front of a computer. Got sad and comfort ate until I could barely do normal daily things.
So, all I have to do to stay on track with diet and exercise is manage my stress levels. I don't suffer depression but my anxiety levels are off the chart. If I can keep calm, I can maintain a healthy sleep pattern and the pattern makes the diet easy. The more weight I lose the more exercise I feel like doing and the carrot that dangles out in front is the hope that one day I might find the me I used to know inside the me I've become lol. I know for sure there is no going back now, there is only forward. That's why I will be here through the highs and lows until I reach my goal.
(Short answer) Stay calm.5 -

@Fyreside I appreciate you sharing your story. I can relate to that feeling of avoiding sharing because of not wanting a pity party. I feel the same way. I gained 135 lbs after several people I loved died, all within a few weeks of each other. The greif was enormous and the only comfort I had was food, and I was so emotionally exhausted all the time that I was functioning at half-speed. For YEARS.
It took 3 years before I felt healed enough to move on with my life in a meaningful way, and strong enough to lose the greif-induced weight. I don't usually tell my story or go into detail about it because I also don't want the pity. But, it's part of the story... its why I got fat.
I think for many overweight or obese people there is either an event, such as yours or mine, or an ongoing emotional cause, such as depression or self worth issues, which are at the root of weight gain. I feel like, if we can figure out WHY we got fat in the first place, it can be freeing and a bit easier to fix.4 -
Question of the Week: What is your strategy for staying on track with your diet and exercise plans?
To just do it. It's not optional. It just is. I eat my allotted carbs and calories only. I move my body at every opportunity. (See my strategy? I plan to exercise determination & will to accomplish my goals!)

What is your strategy for staying on track with your diet and exercise plans?
My motivation to be healthier comes from
Several things that I constantly remind myself to stay on track - 1. I want my 4yo daughter to learn my good habits and not my husband’s or in law’s bad habits! 2. I remember the night I threw myself down on the bed in tears because I felt fat and unpretty in front of my husband and vowed it was time to change no matter what. 3. My motivation appears to be contagious- something I never wouldve expected but my husband is actively trying to lose weight and he is down 40 pounds this year- added bonus!!2 -
When I try to check off whether someone is insightful, inspiring, like, woo or hug my check will not stay. Does anyone know what’s wrong?0
