Goals: Starting to feel the effects of skipping my usual Sunday rest day. I'm becoming a firm believer in the value of at least one rest day per week. But, I'm getting through my to do list and looking forward to getting back to the bush for a few days hopefully at the end of the week.

I probably won't be able to join in the fitbit fun. I've put my old fitbit on to charge up and will see if it's practical to wear both that and my garmin tomorrow. I have my doubts lol. And you girls are in a different league with the step count. I celebrate if I hit 7000 per day lol.

@jennfalzon1979 Fantastic progress pic. Something to be proud of.

@gemwolf110 I too have found no better way to handle anxiety than to just ignore it and press on. But I sure do know what you mean about managing and dealing with low emotional energy as such. I find it annoying that I can't just work it out with logic lol.

@AB0215 Boy am I not tracking my protein that well. hehehe.

Don’t have a fit bit. If you all have fun with this, I’ll buy one in June when I return back to Las Vegas in June for a couple of weeks. About my nut addition, I have labeled the peanut can with exactly how many peanuts equal carbs. Only 3 Tbsp. Salted peanuts equals 6 carbs. I am counting carbs so you can see how easily eating peanuts can interfere with weight loss. Those 3 Tbsp peanuts equal 170 calories! I measured how many peanuts fit in a Tbsp and it’s only 7 peanuts. 10 hazelnuts, my favorite equals 9 carbs and 13 pecans is 8 carbs. The best choice of nut is macadamia nuts. You can have 20 for 0nly 7 carbs. Unfortunately, they do not sell Macadamia nuts here in Puerto Vallarta. My limit is 20 carbs or under a day. Anyone want to join me in a challenge to keep to 20 carbs a day or under? We can add carbs to our to our daily report!

@Fyreside I track all my macros like that and my goal is to be within 5 grams of the number I aim for, that's really how I track my calories, and yesterday I was 8 over, meaning I was really only 3 outside of my goal. It's important for my goals to be accurate, but lately, it's been a real struggle for me and I'm a bit frustrated as I thought I had a handle on it, but it just goes to show how going outside my routine and changing it up really messes me up.

@mexiconona I always stay under 20 (net) carbs, been doing 10 for the past few weeks, but I'm going back to my 20, I miss salads!! The nice thing about Pecans is they're rich in minerals like potassium and magnesium so they help with your electrolytes which are important to keto and aside from being super tasty--why they're my favorite nut, but it's easy to over eat them if you're not careful!!

@jennfalzon1979 I personally LOVE salads, I'm sure you will find one you like, personally, for the past 4 days I've been living on taco salad (minus the tortilla chips of course). It's all about finding what works for you!!

@JJKM02 So that might be my new favorite quite, I'm about to make it into a poster to hang above my desk....that's usually what helps me when I've lost my motivation, putting up reminders in the location I spend the most time, which is my desk. I live here most of the time.

You guys are doing so great!! Really proud of you guys this week!!

    Daily Post (Wednesday)

Goals: I've been taking my own advice this week and taking it one day at a time. It's the only way I'm going to get back on track, which I HAVE to do.

I just wrote a book and deleted it. Long story short, I am re-committing myself to my diet plan, and re-focusing my energy on my diet as much as my training. This week I've modified my diet goals and this in addition to my new work/life/gym balance has changed and I think this is all why I am struggling so much this week, but that stops now. It's as much mental as it is physical and I'm sharing so that I can help give myself some extra accountability because quite frankly, it's time to buckle down and finish what I started a year ago.

Side note: Thanks guys--I've been reading all of your posts these last couple days and I'm really glad to be able to soak up all your positive vibes, I really needed it. You guys are rock stars!! Keep it up!!

    Track: Yes
    Calories: Yes. SPOT on today.

Workweek Hustles run Monday to Friday
Weekend Warriors run Saturday to Sunday
There are also single day challenges, such as Daily Showdown or Goal Day.

I usually do a handful of Workweek Hustles and then rest from games on the weekend (but almost never turn down a game either  )

@mexiconona I stick to 20g carbs as well :) I have been doing so for 11 months and it has been a gamechanger. No more inflammation, no more moon-face and sore body. Also no more overeating or moodiness! Wahooo - it's been wonderful.

@jennfalzon1979 Oh man, I too LOVE salad. I think you just gotta find the right meat-dressing-veggie-cheese-seed combo for your liking. Chicken caesar with parmesan and bacon bits is my go-to!! (no croutons :) )

Ok so I fired up my old Fitbit charge this morning, spent an hour or so fussing about making it talk to my phone again lol. And now I'm wearing both trackers because I really do like that idea of comparing their results. My profile thingy is https://www.fitbit.com/user/4VY3GF I'm more than happy if KatieWW takes the last spot in the current comp. I've seen the sort of step counts you girls are getting and I'm going to have to seriously up my step game.

Carbs: @mexiconona I too have an ideal max carbs of 20g per day depending on workload. I used to eat a set daily calorie limit but I've been eating more lately as I'm doing a month of burn as many calories as can every day and eat some back. I'm still in for a low carb challenge though. Is it safe to assume we are talking Net Carbs?

On the subject of nuts, I was blown away when I first started calorie counting. The amount of cal's in nuts is well... nuts lol. My early attempts to "eat healthy" included snacking on peanuts lol. I still remember the shock of calculating that I could hold an entire meals worth of energy in the palm of my hand.
With regards to low carb, have you looked into almonds? Pretty sure they are one of the best low carb nuts.

    Salads

In regards to salads, I think my problem is that I’m not a fan of “cold” meals. I like hot foods. My salads this week have consisted of spinach with purple greens, carrots, cucumbers, a bit of red pepper, grape tomatoes, shredded turkey, one boiled egg and habanero cheese. I use an Olive Garden dressing which is yummy. I guess the proof is in the pudding since I’m down 4lbs since Monday.

@jennfalzon1979 They don't all have to be cold either, I used to eat a Chicken Bacon Ranch Salad where the Grilled chicken I warmed up for the salad, and that really ramped it up a bit, made it feel like more than just a salad...

But regardless.... still happy about the loss!

I've been struggling with salad allergies for most of my life. When I try to eat salad, my mouth fills with unpleasant flavors, my face screws up and my eyes go all squinty. It's like I just keep chewing and chewing and can't swallow.

The closest I've ever come to actually enjoying a salad would be in the form of a taco or similar wrap. Although I have been known to cherry pick cubes of feta cheese from salads when people aren't watching.

@tinak33 Nice loss, hope you're feeling better.
