Today is a chill day for me. For Mother’s Day I bought my mom a “paint nite” so we are doing that today. It’s very low key. Raining here today and gloomy which means we will be having a pasta night. Will try to track but it’s not looking good.
@Fyreside it is pretty cool the discussions and chatter happening. Looking forward to the Fitbit challenge next week.

@AB0215 love your motivational quotes and reading about your lifting. You inspire me to constantly up my weights in pump class. Thank you.

Not much of a loss, but I have not been as diligent with my food. I really need to work on that.

I think I decided to work on dropping the weight with keto before attempting to tone up. I have 60 pounds to lose and I’m down 16 as of this morning. Maybe once I hit 150 (goal is 135) I will start trying to tone up and add muscle. Just an idea at this point but I haven’t been working out much since my gallbladder issue grounded me for a few days. Luckily I have been feeling good since though!
@Keri8680 I did that last year, I did Keto and I still lifted weights, but not overly heavy, at least for me, I did drop them back a bit and I lost 40 lbs, pretty easily. Another thing to consider is over-training. Sometimes you can be training too hard for your goals..and it's a really hard balance to find, but my recommendation is to still lift, just dial it back a bit. You will retain more of the muscle you already have and it will help you burn calories more efficiently. Just a suggestion..it sort of blends both worlds and you won't have to start completely over when you are at a place where you want to start focusing back on adding muscle.
A big NSV for me today... I bought 3 new pieces of clothing today and they are all size medium. This is huge for me, since this time last year most my clothes were 1XL & 2XL!!
@River_Goddess That IS an AMAZING NSV!! Congrats!!!!

Comparatively low impact day due to a few hours of driving that needed to be done. Got a couple of new tools for the workshop that will allow me to increase productivity next week. Which is good since I spent all my money and will be stuck in the shed for a few days lol. Goal wise, I'm keenly aware that my body has been requesting a rest day for a while now. I had a pretty cruisy afternoon tho, so meh.. It's all good and well to write rest day on the calendar, but life is more dynamic than that. If I push too hard I will just burn out and waste a couple of weeks getting back to calm.
As we finish another week, I'd just like to say what a great group we have this month. It's a smaller team than usual, but great participation and mutual support. I'm really enjoying the vibe and look forward to checking the thread each day. Go team :)
@Fyreside I am cautiously optimistic about your new power tools....so long as we don't hear about any more accidents....
I know what you mean about rest and life. I find that this is one of the things I struggle with the most. I have goals, not just in my activity, but in life and sometimes they don't agree and part of life is making hard choices. I think one of the most important things you can do is to listen to your body, something I tend not to do and then suffer for it later, or cost myself more time in the long run. My suggestion, don't do that. lol.
As for the thread this month, I agree, I love the level of participation, it's really fun for me, and I look forward to the stories, not necessarily weight loss related, the victories, no matter how small, and even the struggles, because let's face it, we're human and sometimes we just need to know we're not alone. Go team!!

@AB021 love your motivational quotes and reading about your lifting. You inspire me to constantly up my weights in pump class. Thank you.
@jennfalzon1979 I don't like to talk about myself, oddly, but I don't feel like I really have anyone like-minded in my life that I can share it with as it's kind of an exciting journey for me, so I share a little of it here, I try not to overshare, because I am not the that type of person, most of the time ;), but I feel like I can share some of it here because we are all sharing similar health and fitness goals and while we all have different goals, and it's fun to see what others are doing, I think. Thank you for sharing that you enjoy hearing about it, I like sharing when I do what I set out to do, or better, and it's encouraging for me, and hopefully others to realize that if you work hard enough, you can achieve what you thought was impossible.

Not super happy about this, but I am sure it is because of TOM because I have literally done everything the same.

I gain (or at best, don't lose) one week out of every month. It's guaranteed to happen no matter how perfectly I eat, how much exercise/sleep/water I get, heck I could even fast and it would make no difference. Gotta love hormones! I'm expecting that cyclical gain/stall this coming week too. Blah

Okay, I just want to be clear, I am not advocating for cheating on your boyfriend, but I really think I need this shirt...I find it so amusing.

The tank top was ok, but the disclaimer was hillarious.

I think the little mid month gain will set you up for a great week 4.

Hey, quick one.. I got up and weighed a full neat pound lighter today. And since it's still Saturday over there I figure I might as well write it down. 245.3Lb I'm going to leave it to you as to whether it still counts for week3. Sometimes it's tricky living in tomorrow. I sometimes post my daily posts the next morning, but there is a risk of forgetting etc.

@AB0215 I completely get that. Sometimes when I talk about the gym and what I do, I can see my family’s eyes glaze over. Lol. Like come on. I listen to you about your tools. Let me talk about the killer lunge track I just did.

    Cheating is for Board Games
    Not for Workouts

    (There, less hurtful!)

If anyone else from Team Slimsons wants to join our Fitbit group, we'd love to have you!! Instead of being competitive, we are setting a collaborative goal to reach... so no pressure to win, just contribute as best you can!! We're aiming for 250,000 combined steps this week, then if we make it we will aim to beat our group total/previous best, next week!!
Come join us even if you have a low daily step average. Its for fun and camaraderie and motivation, not competition (although I can be a little competitive) :)

    Calories. Lol
    Exercise. Grocery shopping?
    Water. 50 ounces

Today was paint nite with my mom. Basically, you sit for two hours, drink, and the instructor shows you how to paint a cool picture. My victory was only having one beer. And I still painted a cool picture.

@AB0215 Just for interest, your lifting is what inspired me to start building some muscle back. I definitely had to go on the lose some weight journey first, but your efforts reminded me there is more to be had than just weighing less. I've been considering asking for your advice on how to better plan my lifting workouts. Read a bunch of plans, but none of them really fit my goals or equipment.

@River_Goddess Love the collaborative goal plan.

@jennfalzon1979 That painting turned out great. Sounds like a fun night.

@jennfalzon1979 OMG, that's awesome, and AWESOME job!! I could never do that and I'm sure alcohol would not improve my skill.

@Fyreside If you ever want advice, I'm certainly game for helping you. I can tell you, while I've learned how to create a program, I still don't do it for myself. I do better on them if I let my trainer do the programming and I just follow it. She sets the bar pretty high and I always think I can't get there and then I surprise myself. I think it's her belief in me that helps me achieve those goals.
Also, I'm really glad to hear that I'm able to inspire others. I never really thought I had that in me, but I guess knowing that also inspires me to keep going and see where I can take this. I never ever thought I would love the sport of weight lifting like I do, but not only do I find it fun, but part of me feels like a bad *ss and I never thought I could feel like that and it's just addicting.
Also--I went ahead and counted your weight, after all, it IS still Saturday ;)

@gemwolf110 this was my third paint nite. I love them. I have no artistic talent whatsoever. Like. I can’t even draw a stick man. But the instructors walk you through it and before you know it, you’ve made an awesome painting. I highly recommend it!

@Keri8680 I too started with weight loss first and now am considering toning. I want to lose about 16 more pounds before I start getting into the toning but if the inspiration comes naturally before then, I'll take it :)

@Fyreside I'd love to see some of the things you create in your magical shed/workshop. I'm a crafter/artisan/maker type too and love seeing what others are up to :) Also congrats on the loss this week :star:

@jennfalzon1979 Your post made me laugh out loud because it's so true. If I talk about keto or calories or weight loss or weigh ins, basically anything MFP related to my loved ones, it's met with a "smile and nod" So I save it for here... welcome to my secret weightloss wonderland!! Also, awesome job at paint night (both the one beer and the painting!)

Goals: Failed to achieve a rest day, but a good day nevertheless. I've got goals for this week. Big goal is I want to finish this month really strong and lose at least another 1.5kg to get down under 110kg. Next important goal is to get down to the bush block with my upgraded camper ready to install into a new cozy little camp site. Goal 3 is to not be totally thrashed by the time I get to the bush block lol, because those are my biggest calorie burning days. But I am fully buzzed at the prospect that I'm off the edge of my latest plateau and I'm hungry for some downward slide on that weight trend line. (For you Ye Olde measurement types, its about 2.2Lb per kg. :) )
    Track: Yes
    Calories:Yes
Exercise:More than I was supposed to.. lol
    Est Net Carbs: 19

Is anyone up for joining me in a super disciplined and dedicated week 4 of loss? I'm gearing up for a week of no excuses, energy burning and belt tightening.
